Dare I say one of the best pizzas in the Indianapolis area is in... MONROVIA??? It's true - Dawg House was an incredible surprise that I discovered when we first moved here about 1.5 years ago. I am always a big fan of supporting a local restaurant - especially when it is genuinely that good! Their thin crust pepperoni has been my standing order. Sauce, not too sweet - and super flavorful. The pepperonis are amazing with a nice subtle heat/spiciness to them. More importantly, the STANDARD pepperoni pizza comes with so much pepperoni, you would think you accidentally ordered a meat lovers! This place is generous! I was today years old though when I actually read the menu and saw they also do a Chicago style deep dish. It was almost as good as some of my favorites from Chicago - but pretty dang close. Overall, though, their thin crust is the best thing on their menu. This is a bitter sweet review for me though, because I had another great experience AND discovered today that Dawg House will be going out of business on May 30, 2026! They will be making way for a Greeks Pizza set to open in July. At least Greeks isn't terrible - but to all the people from Dawg House, you will be missed! read more

Dawg House pizza dine in bar has a great atmosphere and our waitress, Chelsey was amazing! Drink specials everyday of the week were posted at the bar. They had a good selection of local brews and domestic beer and spirits. We had wings and a salad to start. Wings were well seasoned and hot from the oven. We ordered ours dry with sauce on the side. All were good. We have had great carry out pizza from Dawg House many times over the years but, dine in was amazing! The fresh dough crust from the oven was so light and crispy with an amazing flavor! We left full and very pleased with our dinner experience and look forward to stopping again. read more

This was a pick up order and I sent my daughter to pick it up so I can not say anything about the service or the atmosphere. But I can talk about the pizza. It was over flowing with toppings and they all meshed together a long with the crust and sauce to make a outstanding pizza that was popping with flavors. This is a small pizza place and the only one that delivers to my house out in the country. It doesn't open until like 4 pm so that is kind of inconvenient. It is their business though so I did not factor that into the rating, it is just a heads up. The pizza is not my style and it is pretty expensive. It is pretty floppy. The pepperonis were a little spicy which I loved. It is good pizza but for the price I do not think I will get pizza from here that often. I love thin crust pizza, non flop crust, garlic crust, and tons of pizza sauce so Dawg House is not my favorite. I still respect it though even though it is not my style. I NEVER leave reviews on anything but I downloaded Yelp solely so I could rate this place five stars. It's a little run down and frankly I went in with low expectations but holy cow this place was amazing. Awesome customer service and AMAZING food. Unfortunately they were out of toasted ravioli which I wanted to try, but we LOVED the breadsticks and garlic bread, and the pizza was no joke the best I've ever had. A little on the pricier side but DEFINITELY worth it. I only wish it was closer to home so we could go more often. Lots of locals came in for takeout while we were in there and for good reason. It would be easy for a small town pizza place to become complacent since there isn't much competition in the area. But the quality of product and service is maintained at a high level at this little shop on Main Street. I had gone to an early movie in Mooresville and didn't feel like cooking my own dinner, so I Yelped and found this place in nearby Monrovia. If given a choice, I always go with an independent business over some national chain, so I made the quick trip and parked right in front of the place. I didn't go around the corner to the actual restaurant part of the business. Instead, I simply took a few steps from my car and placed my order in the "to go"/kitchen area of the shop. I paid for my pizza and grabbed one of the small tables in the front that made it comfortable to wait my 20 minutes for the pizza to be prepared and baked. I could see the team in the kitchen making the pizzas. The ingredients were generously applied and looked really fresh. They also checked the pizzas to make sure they were baking evenly and would rotate them around in their giant oven as needed. And they all seemed to enjoy what they were doing even though it must have been hot there. My pizza was ready when they said and I was soon at home, surrounded by my wife and our dogs who were looking at me with anticipation. The Supreme pizza (12" but without the banana peppers) was as pleasing to look at as it tasted. The crust was generally thin enough to be folded (a little droopy in the middle), but sturdy enough on the crust that it wasn't necessary. The edges had a bit of melted cheese right up to the crust so I was able to get a bit of cheesy bread bites towards the end of each slice. The ingredients were indeed fresh and the pizza was really good. Just what I would expect from a fresh baked pizza. The veggies were cut to an appropriate size to get baked in the time limit, but large enough to be recognized, not just diced bits of color. Not a lot of sauce, but enough to give the pizza flavor and keep it from tasting dry. I could tell these folks knew how to make a good pizza. I know everyone has their own favorite style. I don't believe this place makes any style other than what I had. It might be nice to offer a really thin crust that gets crispy or a deep dish for those transplanted Chicago area guests that like tons of ingredients. I had been eyeing this place for over 6 months. Their hours are a little difficult to plan as it's pretty far from me. (4-8 or 4-9) I finally got the opportunity to go so here's what I thought It was a friday night so super busy. Ended up being a 35 min wait for our pizza and breadsticks. Ordered at carry out everyone was nice and helpful. Went to the bar for a beer and no one ever greeted me after about 5 min or so, so I left. The pizza looked incredible. I got pepperoni breadsticks too. You could tell the dough was homemade. Every thing tasted good, but over all I didn't feel it had a unique flavor. Maybe brushed with a garlic butter or something wouldve helped. I would still recommend over a chain pizza, but wouldn't go out of my way to return. Desperate for a non-chain option on the stretch of 70 west of Indy & a Yelp reviewer saved the day. They recommended going about 4 minutes off the highway to a small town, out of the way place with "amazing pizza". Google Maps actually had us turn the wrong way on Main Street but it was easy to see it was the other way. They have a parking lot behind the storefront that was not visible from Main Street. Staff, a Mom & Daughter combo were very friendly and helpful. Bottled beer only but it was ice cold - went down quick! Aside from the adorable, small-town feel (imagine the decor of Applebee's, but this is real stuff from real people in the town) - the food is amazing! Hands down, the best crust/dough made in-house each day. You have to get an order of bread sticks. So soft, so tasty. It doesn't matter what pizza you order, they're all good. Terrible Service. Dawg House pizza to be delivered. I was a frequent customer, service was always subpar, but tolerable in the past. Today was the 3rd anniversary of a death in our family, so it was not a particularly good day to start. Order was placed for an hour delivery window, no problem. About 45 minutes in I received a call from our driver that said he was having problems finding our address. I gave him our address again and said, "We're right behind the BLUE house". 15 minutes later the driver calls back and says, "So I passed the RED house but there is a gate". Prior to this call I messaged the driver with the address again, screen shot of where we are on the map and a ZOOMED out shot of the map as well. He said he would check it out and get back to me. 30 minutes passed our delivery window (1 hour and 30 minutes total) the driver calls me back and says he is still having trouble finding our house. Our house is 7 minutes away from this restaurant and I received 5 calls from this driver trying to find us. I told him, "Just take it back, have it remade (as it was cold by then) I will be up to just pick up the food." I called Dawg House and they told me they just spoke to the driver and to give them 15 minutes. I arrived at the place upset because I couldn't understand why this was such an issue when I can pull up our address on Google and it takes me right to our house. I come in and to their credit they tried to ask me questions of where the house was and markers for next time (which I have already expressed to the driver multiple times). I told them that I'll just continue to pick up pizza and it was useless to go through this again. At this point I am visibly upset and told them that I'm sorry and I have been having a bad day. They then proceeded to tell me that, "They were having a bad day too" (Probably not the best thing to say to an upset customer that is mourning a past tragedy but sure, you don't know). They bring me the pizzas and I ask if these are fresh. They say, "No the driver just got back with them". I told them, I am not paying for pizza that has been sitting in a car for 45 minutes at this point and having to drive to pick it up. They then decided to keep telling me no it's fine, which it wasn't, without any sort of compensation. She then angrily stated, "Just take your pizza and go". As I was turning to leave she stated, "And don't put your bad day on me". During this entire interaction I didn't use any bad language or raise my voice more then what was appropriate for a horrible experience. This employee clearly had no idea or care when dealing with customers. Especially since you don't know what kind of day, week, or month that an upset customer has had. To make that arrogant comment to a guest you know nothing about and that him and his family are TRULY HAVING A HORRIBLE DAY was rude, inconsiderate and frankly grotesque. She should be ASHAMED of herself but I'm sure she could care less. My family and I will NEVER eat at this establishment again. Oh, and the pizza I was told to leave with was cold. Pizzas are good. They are a little stingy with cheese. Even when I order extra cheese I feel like there is never enough. You must try the pepperoni breadsticks. So great! My issues are two fold: the prices are insane. It's much easier and cheaper to pick up pizza elsewhere on the way home. Also, carry out is somewhat reasonable but delivery usually takes well over an hour. Overall, I know if we are feeling really lazy and want food delivered that we can get a good meal here. We sat in the small restaurant section because we had a child with us so the bar didn't work. They also had a nice outdoor space. Excellent! Surprising, neat little place.. When you walk into the place, there is a table for 4 and a table for 2 as far as seating goes. However, when we ordered our carry-out order, we were told we could wait in the bar that was in the back of the building. We walked around the side of the building, and came upon a nice deck with outdoor seating. We entered there and were surprised to find a rather nice, cozy and quite pretty bar area. There was local nostalgia (from pictures to signs of businesses past) all over the walls and two nice-sized (not huge) televisions with various sports to watch. Our pizza was really quite good and had plenty of toppings on it. We look forward to going there again and hanging out in the bar and indulging on their pizza again. One thing that I would change is that they only offered canned soda. I really was in the mood for a fountain Sprite and ended up having to go somewhere else to find one. read more

The best pizza in Monrovia. The delivery times are at minimum an hour wait, but they do deliver to the local area to include Hazelwood. This was a fantastic find since we are lazy and in the country. My biggest complaint is that they tend to put too much meat on the pizza. (This is not a problem for most people). The bread sticks are old school style, and very tasty. I have only ordered carry out and delivery, so I cannot vouch for their dine in portion. read more
