Update. Leo was nothing but a liar who tried to improve his appearance through superficial support. The car supposedly had one owner, and Leo told me that's based on the information they had, but the title clearly shows 3 owners. The next big lie was that they acquired the car in May 2023, when on the title it shows they acquired it and transferred the title on 06/22. Idk why I didn't look into the title sooner. Leo knew exactly what was wrong with this car and sold it to me without disclosing the information. I knew it was a mechanic's special, but he told me that the mechanic hadn't looked at it yet because they just got it. Not so, they had it almost an entire year before selling it to me. *repost from google* DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE! My experience has been nothing but terrible with this dealership. I purchased a vehicle from them on 11-8-2024. They informed me that the vehicle had passed emissions on 10-29-2024, a little over a week before me buying it. No more than 24 hours pass, I'm driving the car and the check engine light comes on. I drive back to the dealership that same day and let them know what's going on and they said they can't do anything about until the following week because their mechanic is gone. I drive one block down the road to an Autozone and have them scan the codes and 2 codes for the catalytic converter, exhaust manifold gasket and the ABS system pop up. Repairs ranging from $600 to into the $1,000's The following week comes and I call and leave a message for the man who sold me car, Leo Supoto, to give me a call back. He calls me back later that day and asks what is going on. I explain the issues I found about the car and that I would need them to repair the issues or take the car back. He says that there isn't anything he can do about it. I confronted him about his integrity and moral standing since I had suspicions that they knew this car had issues prior to me buying it. Clearing codes and having someone dishonest pass emissions on a car is extremely frowned upon in the car business. Not to mention that in their office on a white board, it's says "minimum 30 min test drive". Now they may say that is because they might be busy and want to be efficient with time but if you know a little bit about cars you know that you drive a car far enough, cleared lights on the dash will pop back up. After I questioned their integrity and good practice is where things took a bad turn. Leo Supoto, starts swearing at me and telling me that I'm the one with bad morals for not wanting to abide but the contract I signed. I understand that I signed a contract, but as a business that "cares" about their customers, you'd think they'd want to make things right as much as they possibly could. Saw online on KSL some cars for sale that looked decent so we drove about an hour and a half to get here and all the cars are clunkers! I saw a couple people test driving them and they sounded terrible. The mirrors were falling off, the cars were just beat to heck. I can understand if you're on a budget and maybe that's all you can afford, but advertising online needs to be more descriptive and accurate. I was disappointed because a lot of them had garbage in the back seats, and the cars were really dirty on the inside. A few were okay on the inside and weren't overly dirty, but you knew it was the doing of the prior owner of the car. Not a place I would purchase from. read more

STEER CLEAR! I am an informed buyer and I know egregious, inflated fees when I see them! He is charging $299.95 for emissions (which according to the DMV averages $25-50, so this markup is unreal) and has a doc fee of $499.95 which is TWICE what reputable dealerships charge. Leo was very snippy and rude with me when I challenged these prices and told me multiple times that he doesn't want my business when I asked if we could negotiate the out-the-door price. He had the audacity to say in the same breath that he 'doesn't turn any customers away' while simultaneously telling me he doesn't want me as a customer. He kept claiming that these inflated fees were 'the only way he makes a profit' and that he needs to 'pay his rent.' It was a very crybaby ME ME ME situation; nothing about helping me get into a reliable vehicle or working with me on pricing. I didn't have a problem with the price of the car itself and I am well aware of what as-is buying entails. The car I was looking at was in worse shape than I thought and not my favorite color, but I was still willing to drive away in it for the advertised price because it met my needs. Leo would have made a sale that day if not for his ludicrous and predatory fees. If your business model is built on taking advantage of customers with bad credit and scalping them with your ridiculous and unnegotiable fees and wild interest rates, then I very sincerely hope that you go out of business. If you are struggling to keep the lights on because you choose to buy cars at market value rather than retail value through the auction and inflate your fees to make up for it, then you are a scummy business. I encourage any potential customers not to waste their time or money here. You will not be respected and they won't play nice unless you are willing to get nickeled and dimed, which I was not. He sold me a Mazda CX-7 that broke down in less than 1000 miIes. I put $500 of my own money into maintenance work on this vehicle, after the $5500 I paid in full. The engine had a catastrophic failure while I was in the middle of a cross-state move. The mechanic I towed it to told me it had been headed for a failure for some time and the engine had been fixed in such a way to temporarily prolong its lifespan. I was stranded in Hurricane, a newly single mom with 3 kids, one of which is disabled and requires specialized medical attention. He knew about my situation because we'd had a heart-to-heart when I was buying the car about divorce and our children. He had even cried when I told him about my ex husband's imprisonment and hugged me when we finalized the deal. He kept up this facade when I called him crying and told him I was broken down. He told me " Get it towed to Salt Lake and we'll crunch the numbers." I wasn't going to tow it without more details than that, so I kept calling all this week. He was out of the office every time I called, and was leaving messages, for days. I finally managed to get a hold of him today and told him I'm literally in a homeless shelter in Southern Utah with my 3 kids because of this. My disabled child is 300 miles away from the only specialists in Utah and the surrounding areas and is due to have an MRI at the end of the month to monitor the cyst on her brain. He told me he could do a trade for the value ofy vehicle NOW THAT THE ENGINE IS BROKEN for another one of his barely-running vehicles .I expressed how morally wrong that is and reiterated the situation I was in (which he knew when he sold me the vehicle) and saidI thought he was a good man, a moral man, who cared about his children and asked how he could feel good about screwing me out of $6000. He got vitriolic and spewed that he was sorry for my kids, not for me, then proceeded to hang up on me. DO NOT BUT A CAR HERE NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOUR SITUATION!!! They are two-faced and will be the nicest people in the world until the scam comes to light. Buying a used car at a reputable dealer will not result in a car that breaks down in less than two weeks. Scammers! Went to this store after getting ripped off at another dealership looking for a good service and quality used cars. After talking with the sales person, they showed me this shiny Dodge Durango. I went for a test drive it was good. Being an ignorant person, I bought it without getting a pre-purchase inspection done. Then boom! Two days later, I almost died on a freeway. The car was shaking so bad and it started turning right, I was able to stop it and nobody was hurt fortunately. I went to a mechanic to get it checked out, the person said: "there are too many problems with the car, to the point that I don't know how they even passed the inspection. Then I took it back to this dealer. They were being really rude. I kept on telling him what happened to the car and when I told them this couldn't have passed the safety and emissions test, he got tired of me and ordered me out of the room or he'd call the police on me. This place is so awful. Should have went with my gut instinct when I walked in. I found a vehicle they posted online that matched exactly what I needed. Went into CJ's to test drive. Test drive went well. I looked around the vehicle and under the hood. Everything seemed fine with the vehicle (I am not a mechanic). However, I should have taken this vehicle to a mechanic before purchasing. I bought it for $6000 cash. I took the vehicle to the mechanic shortly after buying it. My mechanic showed me pictures of the frame. The frame was cracked and someone had tried to weld it. It was also bent. The entire frame was being eaten away with rust. I knew that work needed to be done to this vehicle but was not aware that the vehicles entire frame was compromised. My mechanic didn't even want to work on it and told me to get rid of it because "it's a ticking time bomb." I would advise staying away from this place at all costs. I will never buy a used car again thanks to these guys. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau. Note that it is against the law for a dealership to not disclose frame damage to vehicle. It's the sales manager who was so rude and used little lies to try and convince us why he was selling the cheapest on KSL. Based on my experience, I have this advice: If you find a car at CJ's that you're determined to purchase, take it to a mechanic FIRST - and especially before you make any offer! (Anticipate that they will have all sorts of excuses about why you can't, but persevere, or walk.) It cost me about 20% beyond the purchase price (including their high charge for licensing), to have my own trusted mechanic make needed repairs. This is a business that has a couple of elements of potential success in place: ---It's a great location, but cleanliness is lacking. The office space could be made so much more inviting by simply tidying up, cleaning surfaces, and "cheering up" the entry. They could also wash each vehicle before customer pick up. --Marisa should be in charge of a reorganization that puts the customer first. She has terrific customer relations skills - on the phone, and in-person - that are a complete waste in this environment. I believe that if she was running the full show, some big and positive changes would be made to ensure customers have the information they need to make a good decision, and that CJ's delivers quality equal to the purchase price. read more

The sales service at this lot is terrible. We have purchased multiple vehicles here in the past all of which had major problems within the first few months. With each car we purchased, we added additional warranties. Somehow though, they never ended up covering any of the problems we had with the cars. Until now I had chalked it up to bad luck. After all, these used cars are sold as is, and with used vehicles you never really know what you're getting. Fast forward to now and we're in the market for a vehicle again. We spent a significant amount of time searching for something which met our criteria. After striking out at multiple places we decided to give CJ's one more chance. We went in with a clear budget and gave the staff and the owner the exact make and model we were looking for. They proceeded to tell us they didn't have anything that fit our needs, but tried to pressure us into looking at cars that were 2-3 times what we could afford to spend. When we told them no, they tried to talk us into financing through them. We determined that seeing as there wasn't a good match we would continue to look elsewhere. A few hours later as we looked at ksl.com we found a vehicle that was a perfect fit. Right make, model, and price. Lo and behold it was listed by CJ's. Looking at the date/time stamp of the post we realized it had been listed the same day WHILE WE WERE IN THE SALES OFFICE. Imagine our frustration when we found out that not only did they not tell us they had something that fit our needs, but they were actively marketing it as we sat and talked. We returned yet again with screenshots of the ksl ad and asked to be shown the vehicle. We were told to go ahead and wait by the car while they got the keys. After a long wait they returned and told us that they were closing right then and we would be unable to see the vehicle. We were told to come back another day which is very difficult due to our work schedules and the fact that we live 30 miles away. As we walked back to our vehicle another couple arrived to look at the inventory and the same salesman who "helped" us and all but kicked us out welcomed them and offered to get keys to anything they wanted to see so they could take a test drive. We mentioned to another sales associate that we'd like the same opportunity, to which he replied that they were closed. As we walked out the door clearly upset we were told that if we didn't like how they did business we could go elsewhere. At this point their salesman slammed the door behind us, cursing at us as his did. Completely unprofessional, dishonest, and all around remarkably bad service. I called about a truck and all they would tell me is that it was still there. I was asking if they could see holes in the truck bed from where a 5th wheel hitch or a gooseneck would have been mounted. They told me the picture should show that but it doesn't. I live 2 hours from their location and don't feel like driving that far to casually check out a truck. I told them that and they said they would look and call me back. That was 2 days ago. They had a great range of used cars at reasonable prices (we had been looking at all the dealers along State Street without much luck). We found the car we liked and were able to negotiate a great price. They were also able to have some scratches and dents fixed as part of the deal. One star is just so I can get this posted. We purchased a car here last Friday. Sunday night while my son was driving on the freeway part of the frame of the car that was badly rusted out, fell off. Both body shops that have looked at it said it was never safe to drive and should not have passed inspection or have been sold. Motor Vehicle Enforcement has a complaint against this dealer for something similar. I guess because there is a 3rd party inspection on the car, the dealer isn't responsible. I get that all my paperwork says AS IS. I get that CJ's tag is line is no pressure. I get that I should have had a mechanic look at it. Lesson learned. But this goes beyond the usual used car dealer ethics complaints- It was a safety risk to my family. CJ's should not have sold me a car that was unsafe to drive, inspected by a company that they are fully aware does bad inspections. Do not buy a car here. You are putting your family's safety at risk. I am so very thankful my son was not hurt, but we are looking at a $10,000 loss. Stay away from this place. read more

I asked a simple question. "What are the dealer fees if I buy a car from CJ's?" I tried to get a straight forward answer several times. I was able to get the $499 fee. But then was told to "Bring $1500 more than you expect to pay and you will get a lot of change back." Who tries to do business like this today? Nuts! The manager was a shady guy. There were some issues with my truck, that I was told to come back and discuss with the manager after buying, and he made it sound like I was trying to con them. Saying things like "But we're not going to just open our checkbook to you" which came off as condesecending. The truck was also low quality. Which, yes I know this is MY fault for not having it thoroughly inspected by my own mechanic. It had a valid sticker when I bought it, and it should not have passed inspection. The dealership pointed fingers at the inspection place, and the inspection place returned the favor. I'm left in the middle with no answers. My point is to simply be careful when making a purchase. Also, in-house financing is 40% APR. My biggest gripe, however, is that they sold a bunch of accounts, including mine to another finance company, without so much as a word to me. I realize this is legal, and common, but it left me with a bitter taste in my mouth so I will never buy from them again. I'd give them 2.5 stars. The only reason it isn't 1 star is because the finance manager girl, and the salesman were both awesome and were insanely helpful and great to work with. read more
