We were in Cedar Key for a weekend of fun and decided over a month ago to rent a boat, unfortunately cedar key island tours had already booked up, so went with cedar key marina. Unfortunately the boat they gave us was TERRIBLE and I'd be embarrassed if this were my company. The boat was dented up outside (not a big deal) the seats were ripped and foam coming out, the floor and seats had mold growing all over it. I would never rent this boat to anyone advertising my company on it, truly an embarrassment. We've used Cedar Key Island Tours many times in the past and will definitely return to them and steer clear of Cedar Key Marina II. read more

I used Cedar Key Marina II for my 1st scheduled service on my 2019 Yamaha motor and was and very impressed with how easy they were to work with and how friendly everyone that I spoke with at CKM 2 was. I keep my boat in Florida but I actually live in Atlanta Ga. They made it very easy for me to drop the boat off , go have lunch and explore Cedar Key for a while and then they called me right after the boat was finished. My boat is a 22 ft center console with a t-top. It was ordered with one Power Pole anchor that did a great job on calm days but with the t-top catching the wind it needed just a little more help on windy days. I called up Capt. John and ordered a second Power Pole and just like last time, I had lunch looked around Cedar key a bit, then they called saying the work was done. They do good work at good prices and do what they say they will do. They will get all of my work. read more

Do not rent rent a pontoon from this company! Paid $180.00 for 4 hours and it was the biggest POS ever...not exaggerating at all. Carpeting down to the plywood, all seats ripped..garbage all around...can go on and on, but see for yourself..obviously they don't care !! The owners (John and Santa) truly care about your needs, and strive to ensure you are satisfied. Kelly, their lead mechanic, is a talented mechanic who treats the boats he is working on like his own -- and it shows. I've been keeping my boats at their Marina for some years now, and have compared their facilities and amenities (and cost!) to other marina's along our coasts -- none compare. The Sea Hag may have a shiny newsletter, but they don't even have truly covered storage (that is locked up at night), they cost more, and don't offer other services when your boat gets put in/taken out. The owners are also very open to any feedback and suggestions, and are people who have devoted themselves to the success of this Marina -- they are fully committed. Given the costs the downtown Marina charges for launching, and the hassle of dealing with trailers, keeping your boat here is a no-brainer; it practically pays for itself. Also, the fishing in Cedar Key is hard to beat; incredible inshore and offshore fishing, plus dive sites, all within better range than other ports, with the closest proximity to Gainesville, Fl. read more

Great marina and staff. Would recommend this marina to family and friends. I first got turned on to CK Marina when talking to John the owner about a boat purchase I was contemplating. He was very patient and was an extreme help in making the decision. I have had a lot of work done to this boat to bring it up to my high standards. Kelly the mechanic did the 100 hour service and is doing other work on my boat and I am very happy. Now if we can get more people to lobby to have the army corps dredge the back way so you can out in and out of the water at the marina it would be even better. read more

When I'm fishing near Cedar Key, I'm always stopping at this marina for supplies and bait. They are always one of the cheapest around and always have the right gear in stock for all of your inshore, kayak, and pier fishing needs. They have a great, accessible location as well, so it's no trouble stopping by real quick before you hit the water. read more

Avoid. We took our 2004 Splendor which is a 24 ft catamaran hull there. They off- loaded our back heavy boat into an unlocked tractor hitch and we watched as it came off the hitch and bounced toward other parked boats. Fortunately, some observant staff saw this happening and were able to stop our boat before it struck parked boats at the marina. Our first outing using the "in and out" service with our grandchildren was nightmarish. The boat wasn't exactly ready..the cover was wadded up in the floor of the boat, they only filled one of our two tanks with gas and failed to put the 3 plugs in our boat. After getting about 4 miles out, our boat began running bad and so we turned around. When they pulled us out of the water, our boat had taken in water in the bathroom and engine compartment. After that, all kinds of engine/mechanical problems that the marina did not want to stand behind the repairs. Unfortunately, unless you own waterfront property in Cedar Key, this is your only option, since the City Dock turns into mud at low tide. We are moving our boat to Homassasa this week. read more

The last week of March 2019 after having some motor problems on our 2002 Boston Whaler 290 Outrage, we took it to Cedar Key Marina for repair. Unbeknown to me the Mercury 225 Optimax has an oil sensor in the tank on the motor that likes to loose the magnet off the bottom of the tank float so the motor goes into safe mode and will not run up more than 1400 rpms, the boys at Cedar Key Marina spent half a day with our bout and couldn't figure out the problem the did little to nothing more than wipe up a some oil in the bilge and charged up $450.00 and fixed NOTHING! I then took it to Haskell's Marina in Jacksonville lest it, when we went back to check on the boat the owner told us he what the problem was and how to fix it as he didn't have the parts, I asked what I owed for his services and he said Nothing because he didn't have the parts to fix it. I would never use Cedar Key Marine again nor recommend their services. read more

We rented the Bentley pontoon. The boat was a little beaten up and the fuel gauge doesn't seem to work, but that wasn't a problem for us at all. The fact that the boat was a little beaten up made me less stressed about driving it. It worked perfectly and, for the price, was an amazing deal. The thing that really gives them 5 stars is the staff. Everyone was great and they even drove the boat on the trailer to our car and unloaded it for us when we were done. Looking forward to coming back in August and renting again. :) read more

If you like your boat, don't keep it at Cedar Key Marina II! On March 1st 2014, Cedar Key Marina dropped my 53 week new boat off the trailer onto the road damaging the hull keel, chines, transom, stern, engine and more. They transport boats from the dry storage to the city docks by trailer and did not strap it down whatsoever. The trailer was in a very sad state of repair which contributed to this event of negligence. This happened one week after they damaged my boat with the forklift. On that occasion, they never even mentioned it to me, I only found that out after spending the day out in the Gulf with my family. The owner John Blouse assured me that it would never happen again - yet one week later, they dropped it onto the Highway 24. Their insurance company made a ridiculous offer to cosmetically repair the boat in exchange for a complete liability release. Contact me if you would like to see pictures. Wow!! what a joke this place is. My father and i rented a pontoon this past weekend from this marina. The staff called us the night before to confirm and had us going out in another fishing vessel and thought we had used it already and were going to rent the next day also. Simple mistake i thought. ok we got straightened out the pontoon was delivered to us and it looked 20 years old. Dents, paint chipped everywhere, instrumentation didn't work, rips in the seats and it had an ignition issue that made it hard to start while out in the water. Customer beware these guys will slip the propeller game on you. when you bring back boat they accuse you of damaging the prop. we got charged 46.00 for this damage. what a slam after paying top dollar for a unsafe, unclean joke of a pontoon. avoid this place at all cost read more
