The quote was free and surprisingly there was no trip charge either. Being a Saturday, they could not obtain a replacement for my faulty shower handle cartridge, but they did temorarily disable the cartridge until it could be replaced the following Monday. I had called another company out the previous day, but they left with the faulty cartridge still leaking. So I appreciated that Roto-Rooter made the extra effort to disable the cartridge. They finished the job the following Monday on time and efficiently. I will not hesitate to use them again for my plumbing needs.

Heater is 11 yrs old and living on borrowed time. Called a provider a major player in the area and got a quote which seemed rather high. Then called Palmerio and phone answered by the owner. Explained situation and got a ball park quote which was substantially lower than the major player. When could job be done? Answer....today I'll be over within an hour. Long story short from the time of first contact at 8:30am until new heater installed and running at 12:30 pm Elapsed time 4 hours!!! Can't beat that for service and the price was right. Might add im a student of efficiency of motion. I always watch pros when I get the chance as I might learn something I can use myself at some time. Joe certainly knows his business in this regard. I called with a broken toilet flange, which is a half day's job for a somewhat knowledgeable homeowner at worst. I was quoted $3,000! When I balked it dropped to $2,000. Their estimate stated "repair is impossible" and they'd have to tear up the floor to replace the drain pipe and flange. I'm a DIY'r typically, but have recently found myself being a caregiver for a family member while working a FT job and simply didn't have the time for this project. I thought I'd throw it to a pro, expecting a $300 to $500 job and willing to go to $1,000 to get it off my plate and stimulate the economy. Sadly, they tried to take advantage of the situation. I guess the guy figured I was an idiot and would just pay anything, likely because where I live is a rather affluent area and I was honest about how hectic everything was at the moment. I did fix it myself, by replacing it. There were no cockamamy "shouldn't do that" type rigging. It was done properly to code. There was no need to tear anything up, and the job was done for $70 and a single trip to a local plumbing supply for a 6" replacement flange and items below that they loaded me up with. I cut it down to size, and simply PVC cemented in. Secure, tested with a dozen flushes, no leaks! I even got to buy a new tool as I didn't have a de-burring tool. 6" flange pipe: $31 PVC cleaner, primer, cement: $20 Deburring tool: $11 Rubber flange seal (no wax): $8

We have lots of books and other items in the basement that would be ruined if the basement flooded. The risk is sudden high pressures which could lead to leaks at the water heater. He convinced us to have him install a "potable water expansion tank." I didn't know there was such a thing. To our surprise, the water supply now works much better than it used to: volume and pressure have increased. No longer do we have to run the upstairs sink for 75 seconds before hot water arrives. I don't know if it was the tank or whether Wayne just whispered to the plumbing system to behave itself, but I think of him every time I use the shower or the upstairs sinks. It works like new. Other things were unexpected too. One of our outdoor faucets was behind drywall. I expected that a plumber would saw open the drywall, do the repair, and be done with it. Wayne got a new piece of drywall and put it in himself. It didn't take long and it makes life simpler for us. I learned something else, watching him. I always thought clogged sinks were caused by traps building up material. Not true. Our clogs were above the traps. I think Wayne knows the oddities of plumbing systems in Montgomery and Bucks counties because he has a lot of experience working hereabouts and knows how to make use of his experience. Wayne arrived when he said he would, and there were none of the hassles one sometimes encounters with people in the building trades. He does the work himself, explains what he is doing, and does not draw things out unnecessarily.
