I was recommended to call Josh at Solution Based for help with an issue in my yard. I got a prompt response. After explaining my problem, he recommended a video drain inspection and location. Nate and JP arrived on time. They were friendly. They wore boot covers inside my home. They were considerate of my driveway with their truck so there wouldn't be damage. They actually invited me to watch what was going on. They were done in about 2 hours, and explained their findings. Drain was marked for my reference. At first I thought the price was high, but I now see it was reasonable. (2 men for 2 hours, and the specialty equipment involved). Horrible customer service, specially their boss Josh. Please save your self service call charges. I call this guy for hvac condensation pipe leak repair. It's big company every time different person ll pick up call n ask for same information again. Told me $79 for service call. Darrel came to check problem, explain everything and said I ask for quota he said it ll be around $300-400 so I said okay. He talk on phone with Josh-the boss- said collect $79 and so Darrel took service charge n told me I ll receive quote in. 2-3 days. After week of not hearing back from them I called on Monday and different person pick up phone n I left msg. I was told someone will call me back. No one did. Tuesday I emailed them n waiting again n no reply. Wednesday I call again n left msg to person n person told me someone will call me back today. No one did. Thursday, Josh was on phone, EXTREMELY RUDE guy. Instead of apologizing for delayed response, he was going on on about how busy they are and they don't give out quotes for 2 week after service call. He said he will send me quote and guess what he gave me UNREALISTIC quote of $2200 which was way more than $400, I was initially told. The faucet in my bathroom sprung a leak and flooded my bathroom and spare bedroom. I shut off the water and found Solution Based on Takl. They sent Mark out immediately and he found my plastic hoses had cracked. It was a cheap Home Depot faucet. Mark recommended a better high quality replacement. I requested a quote via Yelp. My request was specific, itemized in writing as: "1) replace toilet, 2) install shower panel (fixture provided), 3) install new drain pipe for shower - has slow drain and the clog is between trap and vertical." So my quote comes back as 600 for toilet, 300 to replace drain, and he didn't want to do shower panel (fine). I said sounds good, and before they arrive, I confirmed again on the phone of work to be done (because there was back and forth of doing shower panel or not) - replace toilet, replace shower drain pipe. The day of the work done, I get a call saying the drain pipe will cost $1600. I ask why he is changing the price, I already asked for a drain pipe replace (I made it clear in a previous conversation telling him I already tried various unclogging methods and just want the pipe replaced). At this point Im dealing with the owner not the one who gave me quote. Eventually the owner said there was a 'miscommunication' but it will be $1600. And eventually I said okay because I want my drain to function (like every other homeowner). After they replace the pipe, the workers ask me for payment. I ask them why they won't patch the 2 ceilings they broke in order to access the pipe. Eventually Im back on the phone with the owner, he says they are not carpenters, only plumbers (which is a BS excuse). He said he never told me earlier he would repair any drywall. But now the part that REALLY got me angry was when he said 'I knew you would bring this up and that this would happen'. I was bewildered why he wouldnt discuss something beforehand that he knew would be an issue later. Combining this with his really bad excuse of 'miscommunication' on a very clear request to replace a pipe, I really have to warn others of this extremely dishonest plumber who tries to take advantage of other people in every way he can. Also the plumbers didnt bother caulking the toilet and asked me for a broom for cleanup, figures. edit: No one was held hostage. Regarding 'miscommunication' I asked owner to open the yelp request clearly detailing the exact pipe I requested to replace, he hung up. Then I call him again twice, he said are you paying, and before I could get 3 words in, he hung up. Me and the plumbers are standing there awkwardly for 30min because of an immature owner, and eventually had to work it out with his wife (his wife even apologized saying her husband was having a bad day). Speaking generally, if you think a customer is wrong and he is calmly trying to talk to you, you should calmly explain your side. Not yell on the phone and hang up abruptly. read more

Charged me over $500 to replace garbage disposal!!! Told me over the phone there was an assessment fee of $78 which would get applied to cost of work. Also said they would try to repair it first and replace if they couldn't. Made 0 attempt to repair. Only reason I didn't replace this myself with a $80 disposal from home depot was because I was selling the house and buyer required professional repair and installation with documentation. Had an issue with the main drain leaving the house. Company appropriately asked for more info about the situation before offering to come out. Appointment was scheduled for 10 am and the day before they called as asked if they could come earlier. Yes! Pete arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the situation, even finding an outside trap under a walkway rock that we didn't know existed (we have been in the house for 22 years). He quoted a fair price for the work that needed to get done (snaking a 60 to 80 foot length of drain) and worked cleanly and efficiently. From the minute I contacted them, they were attentive and professional. Josh was able to come to our home within 24 hours when other companies told us it would be 24 to 36 hours. Stacy coordinated our meeting times and Josh was prompt. They came and assessed our problem and gave the solution to our warranty company.
