This means that they studio cannot be open during the Sabath (I.e. Friday evenings and all day Saturday). In addition, they also cannot hold class during the Jewish holidays. When you walk in, there is a reception area with benches and cubbies, with new bathrooms (including showers). From there you head into the main workout space, which includes about 30 heavy Smart bags, a full workout area with weights and treadmills, and a boxing ring. I took a 60-minute class and it was both great and challenging. The format included about an 8-minute warmup, ten boxing rounds, and finished with abs and stretching. The instructor was excellent, high energy, motivating, and consistently encouraging proper form. I look forward to going back. Highly recommend if you are looking for a tough, fun, and well-structured boxing workout.

There is plenty of parking (a rarity for Queens) 3. The manager, Laura, was so nice and helpful in answering any questions we had and getting us set up for our trial class 4. Sensei Chris is not bad to look at (just sayin') 5. Sensei Chris and his team know how to make the kids feel comfortable while there The last one is so important. My 4 yr old was nervous and intimidated at the start of the class (I wasn't even sure if he would participate)...but Sensei Chris told him 'no worries, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do...feel free to join us whenever you are ready'...so he watched from the side and eventually joined in and participated after a few minutes. One of the instructors also gave him a sticker, which helped calm my son's nerves. I can understand why my son was intimated. Those kids in the class looked like they could kick anyone's behind! They were amazing! If you want your kid to really learn martial arts, this is the place to go. These kids meant business. They all had excellent form. Great posture. I was very impressed. In the end, we decided to sign up once my son was old enough to understand the commitment. We will definitely be back in 2 yrs to sign up! A-OK... I am between 3 or 4 stars. I will complete the 20…read moreclasses I bought through groupon but I am extremely disappointed in the fact that they pressure you into buying a pair of gloves. The groupon deal said that it is a $40 for 20 classes that is awesome but the catch is you must buy a $25 pair of gloves from the site itself which is "half-off" because you're a newbie due to liability issues. It doesn't make any sense because I signed a waiver form saying they are not responsible for any damages to my own body -- i.e. if I injure myself. They said gloves are not covered by their insurance which I thought was a little uhh okay. I brought my own gloves that were exactly the same, though smaller and fit my hands better. I didn't have a choice because I want to complete the 20 classes! argh!! So I ended up dropping $65 for 1 - 2 months of classes! The class itself is taught by one of two teachers -- Master Paul and Carlos. Carlos had some great workout routines and I was sweating my ass off for the hour in class (but it was also like, 80,000 degrees in there). Have yet to attend Paul's class. This is NOT a place to go if you want to really learn to do kickboxing and are in serious shape. Master Paul let me know that this was a martial arts school that offers kickboxing as a fitness class. Form and technique aren't really taught here unless you're taking a class with M. Paul. This is a basic course for people who need to pay money to have someone push you into working out for a good hour (like me at the moment because I like to lie around my house and eat chips). Go For It Kickboxing is a GREAT STARTER course if you are not in shape or a SUPPLEMENTARY course if you're lifting without cardio (i hate cardiooo). My ex was a workout freak, inspired me to do general kickboxing for a year, switched to muay thai for 2 where I worked out for 2 hours a day, 5 days a week. Fast-forward to now and haven't sweat seriously for a year, and now need to tone and gain weight since I'm 110lbs of skin and bone. GO FOR IT! They are a fab team and you meet some friendly people. You def will lose weight and tone up!
