I have taken 3 guitars to Chuck over 2023 and each time I have been impressed with the quality of work and the service.

I'm a musician and my friends are musicians, and a bunch of us decided that our guitars needed some TLC. Chuck at CKuz Guitars in Middletown to the rescue! My bandmate's Gibson acoustic/electric wasn't staying in tune and we feared it was a big problem which would require megabucks to fix, but Chuck took a look at it and quickly diagnosed that the solution was simple: We could wind the strings differently so they wouldn't slip as much. How awesome is that? Anyone else would have charged us for a big ol' neck adjustment. Chuck's shop is 3 steps away from the corner of Broad and Main in Middletown (about 30 mins from downtown Wilmington-- easy) and is both a guitar shop and a guitar repair place. He's got electric and acoustic guitars, basses, ukeleles, student guitars, amps, pedals, strings, etc. Best of all, he's got freakin' *knowledge* and *experience.* He's a hell of a guitar player himself, and he is super-meticulous when it comes to repairs. The shop has a great vibe, and you just wanna hang out in there yapping with Chuck. I imagine lots of folks do. Support local businesses that are independently owned/operated. Okay, I'm a drummer but I have a few cool toys (electric washboard, keyboard, etc.) that need amps, effects pedals, etc. Chuck is very knowledgeable, welcoming, patient, and expert and works with me whenever I have a need for something guitar related. Chuck is amazing with repairs and I went to him to put together a few piece by piece builds which he knocked out of the park each time, just flawless. Great woodwork and electronic work, a tough combination to find sometimes. And the prices are good too, which can be really tough to find amongst the guys who know what they're doing! I had Chuck do minor repair on one of my electrics, along with a setup on another guitar. He's since taken his business out of the public eye, but if I need anything done on my equipment, he is the first call I'd make. Don't go to a chain - call Chuck, he'll take care of you. read more

I can't say enough about chuck. His shop is very welcoming and I've needed my guitar worked on a few times. I would send a email and he would reply right away to help. Hes also a family man who loves his kids, if that doesn't say enough . I will never go anywhere else. read more

I brought Chuck a broken amp for repair. He was able to quickly diagnose the broken resistor and got it fixed. No BS, no fuss. He even biased it and made sure everything else was in tip top shape before I picked it back up. Expert reapir services at awesome prices. I found Chuck by accident and I'm glad I did. I will never set foot in a Guitar Center again. He worked miracles on my Ed Roman custom guitar. It plays perfectly and he did it at a very reasonable price. Talk to Chuck for 5 minutes and it's obvious he really knows his stuff. I'll definitely drive the extra distance to get my supplies and luthier work at Chuck's place. It's worth it for the service.
