Claim Jumper is inside the Golden Nugget. It was the only place open for breakfast besides Starbucks. Our server was friendly and attentive at first but then became a ghost, never bringing the condiments we requested. Eventually she came back asking if she ever brought them ????? Too late! The coffee was AWFUL! It tasted like water. Our server said everyone has been complaining about it. So if everyone is complaining, why hasn't it been addressed! The food was mediocre. This Golden Nugget restaurant was great for breakfast, after a night at the casinos. Perfectly located inside the Golden Nugget, this was convenient, as well as tasty. Prices were a bit steep, but portions were large and, our waiter, Allen, was fabulous. A good spot to enjoy the Lake Charles view and have a nice breakfast. read more

The service is horrible. The first day here, I waited over 20 minutes just to find someone who would let me purchase a water bottle. The next day, I ordered breakfast for pick up. I ordered 30 minutes in advance so I wouldn't have to wait. When I arrived, they made up some excuse about "the computers being down so we didn't get your order" but then didn't ask me what the order was as they somehow knew.. lol. The early morning started great as we stopped for breakfast at CJ restaurant inside the Golden Nugget Casino in Louisiana. We were sat at the Cadillac side restaurant. We saw the high price of breakfast but the friendly smile from the waitress outweight the cost. We ordered the scrabble egg, ham, potatoes, extra for spinach, coffee & toast After the food was served it looked more like blob mountain not the presentation I was expecting. The pieces of ham size of peas, counted four leaves of spinach, tons of cheese and the eggs were all on top of this mountain half cooked hash potatoes. The bread was barely toasted and cold. I manage to pull out the scrabble eggs to eat. When the waitress arrived to ask how everything was, I said, no. I explained. She called her manager who happened to be the General Manger, Chris. I explained my concerns but instead he shifted the blame back to me. He said. I should have explained how I wanted my eggs cooked! He offered nothing, he said that's the way they cook what's on the menu. When you pay the high price of breakfast as we did it better come with "damm good customer service" even if it's a complaint or not. This manager probably doesn't care because it's not his business. People like this is what makes a business close. If you are reading this deciding to eat at CJ I say. Save your money there many restaurant you pay less for breakfast with much better customer service!!! Paid $72. Breakfast for two !!! I got ripped!! read more

Please skip this place. You can tell by the lack of people eating that it's not worth your money. We stopped for a quick snack to hold over before going out for dinner. The drinks were good no issue there. Very limited selection however. The wings were ok, got the half hot, half mild but all tasted the same. The fries were sad, limp, no seasoning you could taste, just poor. The service was great until she disappeared. Never asked how the food was out checked back if we wanted a second round of drinks. read more

I want to start this review with what I know! We have always had excellent service at the Golden Nugget's restaurants. This trip, 11/24/25 @ 1:10pm, was not the case. We were greeted by dead house plants! Usually there is a jovial, happy, smiling person but not today! We were seated in the section to the left. Michelle was our server who came in about 10 minutes after we were seated. The table near us were super loud = rude! Not Michelle's fault. But after she took our food order, she came back in where she stood there and talked to these people for about 10 minutes. Then we waited another 15-20 minutes to get our food. After we got our food, she was no where to be found. Didn't come ask us if we needed anything (we had steak & eggs so could have needed something) and we didn't see her for a long while. It was just bizarre. Maybe the kitchen was short handed, I have no clue. Gave her my Landry's phone number and she put in for my points. She was nice but there was something going on in general! Host was rude when we wanted to sit one table over from where we requested. She said there were no severs when like five severs walked out. She took our menus and put them back one table over after we sat down at our desired table. Then another host came and sit someone at the table section we wanted within minutes. You need to improve your food and service. We had to eat here as it was the only available restaurant in the casino. The food was close to inedible. The tortilla soup had the thickness of oatmeal. The grilled chicken was so overly seasoned, the dinners next to us asked if we were eating liver and onions. Their food wasn't eaten either. My recommendation is don't eat here. read more

This place has horrible service. Took almost an hour to get a sandwich and salad. Only 10 customers in the restaurant that has a capacity of 113 so that tells you it wasn't busy. Server never apologized for the long wait time either. On the positive side the club sandwich was really good, but not good enough to wait an hour for. This was not the first time we've had to wait a long time for food even though the restaurant had no crowd. This will be our last visit though. read more

I took a weekend trip to Lake Charles and stayed at L'Auberge. The nice thing is they have a complimentary shuttle that takes you to and from L'Auberge and The Golden Nugget. The shuttle comes every 20 minutes or so. For lunch one day, we stopped by Claim Jumper Restaurants for lunch. There was a wait in their main dining room but they have a small area where you can order at the counter and eat there. Since we didn't want to wait, we went with the second option. I went with the fish tacos with fries and an orange juice. You have the option of fried fish or grilled fish and I went with one of each. Fish tacos are one of my go-to's, though I don't have them often, and these didn't disappoint. They wrapped them in tin foil which made them easy to eat. The fries were okay but it was a small portion. I expected more from a spot like this, especially at a casino. While most of the dining options at The Golden Nugget are unremarkable, they give you the fuel you need to attack the casino. read more
