It's been years since we dined at Outback Steakhouse, but one of the folks I follow on YouTube went there to get the $14.95 three-course special. We were there at lunchtime on a Sunday and were seated promptly. Our waiter came over, he was very nice. I signed up for the rewards program, so we got a free "Bloomin' Onion". It took a while for that thing to come out, and it came with an apology. Apparently, the onions the restaurant was getting were very small, so our Bloomin' Onion was not blooming. It was withering. It tasted very good, however. I ordered the grilled shrimp with broccoli and a sweet potato. When the sweet potato arrived, it had butter and brown sugar. I sent it back and asked them to remove the brown sugar. I guess I didn't read the menu closely enough. My meal was excellent. I was very happy with everything. Mike had a Bloomin' Burger with a salad and broccoli. Everything he had was yummy, too. We got some boxes for our leftovers, bagged everything up, and flat out forgot our dessert. We were going to get our dessert to go, and forgot it. I was able to call the restaurant, got the manager (Candy) and she made it right. We'll be back! read more

I had Father's Day dinner here with my dad, we got here early afternoon so we were able to get seated without a wait and the hostess took some extra measures to accommodate my dad's wheelchair by moving around a few chairs and adjusting the table. Our server greeted us and took our drink orders and brought out a fresh from the oven loaf of bread and whipped butter. We both decided on the delicious 12 oz prime rib with baked potatoes and we each ordered a cup of potato soup to start, all the food was delicious but we did mention to our server the soup was barely warm and I noticed several tables had experience the same issue something I felt the kitchen should have caught prior to sending out so many orders. The crew at Outback is literally top tier. We were initially sat directly in front of a table with a whaling baby. Which I get it, it happens. At first, the baby's cried were easy to tune out. Then walks in a huge group with a mom who was louder than all of her kids combined. Someone was clearly never taught about inside voices. Prayer for her husband because yeesh... I digress. That woman was talking at a decibel level that causes hearing loss, so we couldn't tune her out. My husband got up and asked the hostess if we could move to a different part of the restaurant, so we could actually hear our thoughts. Dinner was much more peaceful once we were a mile away from the mouth of the south. Our waitress, Kourtnie, was so understanding and kind. Bless her for still handling our table even though we were well out of her area. She was on top of service the entire time, and always had a smile on her face. The manager, Cassie, even came and checked on us. She came over cracking jokes with us and making sure the atmosphere was better for us. The food came out quick. I'm not sure if they revamped the menu items, but the servings seemed a lot bigger than they usually have been. The Tasmanian chili also seemed like it received an upgrade because it had some extra heat to it than usual. This current version of the chili is our new favorite. It was so much more flavorful than we've had before. This crew definitely knows what they're doing in the hospitality field. Last Friday, my father and I went in early evening for the 16 oz Prime Rib and it was especially outrageous and such a beautiful age generous cut!! We ordered it seared and herbed and wow the beef had so much flavor and they both had great texture and was so tender. The horseradish sauce and au jus was perfect on the side along with a really great salad and loaded baked potato. My father selected the baked potato soup and baked sweet potato and he was really pleased with both. The service from the warm greeting at the entry to throughout our meal was excellent and our server was attentive and very courteous along with the gentleman who brought our food out. There was so much to love about our meal with the good food and service that obviously this place is well managed with the culture and vibe all about the customers and the food! read more

Went to outback on Sunday August 9, 2026 at 2:55 pm to celebrate a birthday. The place had very few people. The hostest made a a face and rolled her eyes when we asked for a table for 8. Over 40 minutes later, out table was ready. It was 2 tables shoved together that should have been for 6. The tables were available when we got there. It took the waiter at least 10 minutes to show up for the drink order then another 20 minutes plus to take the food order. After another hour our food showed up. The orders were messed up and the food was luke warm. We kept watching the employeees gather in the back talking. When talking our order, the waiter stood a few feet from one end of the table and we had to shout our orders to him. When he did come with the drinks and then the food, he stood at one end of the table and we had to pass the drinks down along with the plates of food as if we worked an assembly line. The food arrived with orders mixed up and was lukewarm. Some was inedible. The waiter told the birthday person to order any dessert on the house. Then he added over $12 to cover the dessert. He also tried to add over $20 tip to the seperate tickets each. This store had went down until the new manager arrived. Apparently she is no longer there as it has went to the bottom again. I ordered the roast beef Sammie and a baked potato. In the past, service has been hit or miss but this is the third time in the past few months we eaten there or picked up. The Sammie was delicious and I had ask for some au jus on the side. And, I got it!!! Plus, the server came to make sure that was the gravy I wanted!!! Excellent customer service. I have always like the food and now the service side seems to be working more smoothly, I say go back and give them another chance. All businesses, and employees, and sometimes customers just have an off day!!! Give them grace. This was hands down the best experience I've had at this Outback. I've had issues here in the past, but whatever changed--especially with management--was for the better. The Melbourne Porterhouse was cooked to absolute perfection, juicy, tender, and seasoned just right. The baby back ribs were incredible, fall-off-the-bone tender with that perfect smoky, tangy BBQ sauce. Everything else I had--wedge salad, baked potato, and Brussels sprouts--was just as good. On top of that, the service was excellent. My waitress was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. You can tell there's a new level of care here. If you've ever had a bad experience at this location, it's worth giving another try. They've seriously stepped up, and I'll definitely be back. read more

My mouth was watering for a great steak so we went to Outback. The service was absolutely the worst I have ever including many fast food restaurants. The waitress must of have had a bad day. She felt like it was an inconvenience to take our order. Ordered a blooming onion for an appetizer. My wife and I were half finished with our cold terrible steaks before our waitress finally passed by so I could ask her to please check on our blooming onion order. Never saw her to get a drink refill. Asked another waitress but was told " not my table. I would have to ask my waitress". Finally waved her down to bring my check so we could leave. This was quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had at an Outback. When I travel for work, I will often go to Outback if I am in a place without many local options. Outbacks are usually very consistent across the chain. Good food, good service, and a good atmosphere are what I expect when I visit one of their locations. This location was pretty bad on food and service and the atmosphere just seemed off. First, let's start with the service. I am pretty easy to deal with when I dine alone. I sat in a booth at the bar since I was solo. There were other tables but the solo server should have neem able to handle it. She couldn't and was completely out of it. She seemed too busy telling me about signing up for dining rewards that my order was secondary. After way too long, I ordered. It was a pretty simple order of a porterhouse, medium rare, side salad with blue cheese, and a premium side of Brussels sprouts. Normally I would expect the salad to come out relatively quickly. It didn't. In fact, after far too long, my steak and side came out. While waiting, the server never checked on me and just kind of wandered aimlessly around the other tables. When a different server delivered my food and my original server saw them, she asked if I needed anything. I told her I never got my salad. So she got it and I ate it after the rest of my food. Odd indeed. But wait, what about the steak? It was awful. Did I eat it? Yes, I was hungry. But it was so far and away from typical Outback quality that I felt like I was eating a grocery store discount steak that got marked down because it was old. The star of the meal was the sprouts. The service was incredibly slow and inattentive -- we waited forever just to get water, and our server seemed more interested in chatting with coworkers than checking on us. When the food finally arrived, the asparagus was cold and limp, like it had been sitting out for a while. The shrimp were rubbery and overcooked, and the steak -- which I specifically ordered medium rare-- came out well-done and dry. I should have known better, but had $50 in gift cards. Walking in at 7:00 PM, there was only 4 tables occupied. We asked to be able to see the football game, but was told they had no control over where we sat. Instead they sat us directly under the TV. The salads came out before the drinks and bread, with very little dressing. Thankfully the waitress was extremely kind and helpful. They were out of the 6 oz filet and asked if I wanted to upgrade to the 8 oz, but no discount. The steak was undercooked but I like it that way. My wife's had no seasoning. Took over 20 minutes to get a waitress to the table that could operate the tablet for ordering. Had at least 2 orders for other customers that were attempted to be delivered to the table. Wrong salad delivered to the table. The French Onion soup was way over baked. Not all condiments were noted on the overcooked Outbacker Burger, plus $12.99 for what is not much more than a McDonald's Quarter-Pounder with Cheese is outrageous. This Outback is THE WORST one I have been to. I am from the Baton Rouge area and the Outback's over there are sooo much better than this one. Now, I'm not one to ever complain on these apps about anything, but honestly, they just need to close this one down, or get a completely new staff. We were greeted by a very nice hostess and we were seated in the bar area. I don't care where I sit in a restaurant, just as long as I get food I'm happy. But we had the bartender wait on us instead of a normal waiter. That is a-okay with me, the restaurant was super slow and no one was even in there, maybe 5 other tables total. So, that shouldn't have been difficult for her. It was. It took the lady 30 minutes to come greet us with no bread. We also never ever got bread until at the VERY END of our meal another table in her section was given food and my boyfriend made a face at her, like really? You didn't think about that for us until you realized the mistake. Anyways, like I said 30 minutes for her to greet us and she was just looking at us pretending to work. She walks up and asks for our drink order and my boyfriend orders alcohol and I order a sweet tea. He got his drink fairly quickly but I was still waiting on my drink. I wait a second thinking, "She will be right back with my tea, she probably had to go do something in the back." She comes back, without my drink, and we tell her an appetizer we wanted and our order because she didn't come back for another 30 minutes. At this point, we have been sitting there for over an hour and I still don't have my drink. I asked her when I could possibly get my drink she said, "My apologize, I will get that for you right away." I said thank you and waited another 20 minutes. At this point now though, we have been there almost 1 hour and 45 minutes, and I have to ask another waitress to grab my drink for me. Then we finally get our food, at the same time. It was terrible. The steak was over cooked, our appetizer was awful, and our sides were terrible on top of that. Like, I'm sorry how does that happen? I really don't know but my boyfriend and I were very angry and disappointed. It takes a lot for me to get angry since I have worked in the food industry, I get it stuff happens, but nothing like that has ever happened when I worked at restaurants to me or any other co-worker of mine. I had sympathy for our waitress because I also don't know what's going on in her life or if anything was her fault or not. Needless to say if I could give 0 stars I would. The one industry that is visibly struggling economically the most. Our families go to restaurant is our local Outback. I reached out to Mr. Harold Martin (Proprietor) and he shared the destruction by text. His simple words thru his text messages were evidence of the resilience he had for our community and a spirit of connecting and giving back while completely cutting and getting his restaurant reopened. REMODELED: Our local Outback needed the remodel for some time. I hate that the devastation of a hurricane was what brought it about. But our family was there on day two of their reopening, we were completely taken back by the transformation. Breathtaking. UPDATED MENU: You will be pleasantly surprised that prices have dropped. Lower prices are huge incentives for those once-a-month customers to visit more frequently and will attract new members of our community. We all love a good steak and baked potato. Step out of your comfort zone and look for the new items that have been added to their menu. Outback is NOT what it used to be. This location is terrible. I have been three times since moving back to Lake Charles and each time was utterly disappointed. It's not the food, because the food is consistent with other outbacks but the SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!!!!! One time our server almost completely ignored us - we didn't even get drink refills! The next time, we were ignored yet again. The last time we went the hostess was arguing, borderline yelling, with a guest and a manager had to get called. Standard deal. Waitress was sweet and tatted up. Beautiful smile. She noticed I pushed my ahi tuna to the side. I didn't complain at all. Just it was greenish and way over cooked. Like brown with darker edges. Anyway, I just moved it and continued with my meal. Nice strip. Nice salad. Nice veggies. Manger came over explained to me the process of their tuna. I smiled and said I didn't complain but look I fished and eaten tuna all over the world including some off the back of the boat that was swimming 30 seconds ago. Never saw tinted tuna.
