Everybody should have Mary's crawfish. It's the best I've had around town so far and I've had a lot. There is outside seating and an inside bar area as well. We had not eaten at Blue Martini in at least 6 months and I learned they were under a new General Manager, Scott Hudson, and I wanted to share our experience. Those visits made under new management are always your most impressionable. Mine began with an email sent to the General Manager prior to our visit through the Golden Nugget Website. Blue Martini is a little more of a younger crowd. However, the young at heart are there in full force and we were taking a couple out to dinner and drinks that were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Mr. Hudson called me back in response to my email promptly. We discussed several options that he could do to make the evening eventful for an anniversary surprise and he asked that I text him when we arrived. We were greeted from the moment we arrived. Management was greeting and visiting with every guest table. Natalie, our server, was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and very friendly. She had other tables but never failed to make sure we didn't need anything. Attitude reflects leadership and Scott Hudson clearly has the respect of his staff. He represents the type of general manager that any company would want on board if they truly want positive recognition and feedback from their customers. Our evening: Drinks: Old Fashion, Blue Martini, Corona, and Water Food: Pretzel and Beer Cheese, Buffalo quesadillas, Garlic Parmesan Wings and Beef Tenderloins. Dessert: Blue Martini Management with the help of the Golden Nugget Bakery, arranged for me the most amazing chocolate cake and it included "Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary". It was brought out to our table by Blue Martini's Head Chef and served to us. Live Music: We arrived at 5:30 PM and left before the 8:00PM start time. (Rouge Krewe) During set-up they did sound great. I would ask that Golden Nugget consider booking a Country Band to cover all music genres. It always gives me a bit of hope when a business goes above and beyond the call of duty and provides excellent service. The food was wonderful, from preparation to presentation. However, what truly made the meal unforgettable was the staff...always smiling, helpful and constantly trying to cater to all the guests' individual needs to ensure a totally enjoyable dining experience! Scott Hudson, Blue Martini General Manager and his staff clearly want you to have an experience "Nothing Short of Fantastic". If you are looking for a place for a relaxing evening for dinner, drinks, and a great atmosphere, then Blue Martini could be the place you're looking for. Then when you order your drink after giving your I'd 12 foot away- this said barback who's looks to be giving away drinks at that point upon observation.... after being ignored for a seasonable amount of time, he finally approaches me & says verbatim "what do you want? Why do you not have a wristband? Why didn't she give you one?" I had no idea not being this "friend" entailed almost turning away my business. I confused then follow with- "I'm ordering a pizza, & also would like to buy a beer while I wait." Rolling his eyes he pulls my beer, immediately demanding payment which was fine because cash was already in hand for it. (Rude behavior aside, I work in the industry so I maintain composure.) Disregarding the cash & ID already pulled out for him by the time my beer was on the counter, my friend was already prepared- somehow that's my fault & He looks me directly in the eye, and approaches me audacity to refuse to see her ID and money . After awkward looks for a full 60 seconds he then finally agrees to let her pay for the pizza and beer... then turns around after giving her change, turns to me after pocketing the money for the beer & says "that'll be 3.00" Makes me remember why people only go to Lake Charles for the casinos... this place being a "tourist" spot is more than a joke. If I wanted to tip for crappy service I would have. Based on my experience, this is a business where you have to be a thief to be given anything close to decent customer service, let alone not watch your money get pocketed right in front of your face. 10/10 wouldn't recommend.
