I'm traveling thru the area like most of their business I would think. Had an idler pully start making noise on the way here. I ordered the pulley and belt (as it's a stretch gm) from NAPA. Parts came in over night as always with Napa. Called Point S to see if they could put it in for me. Literally an hour at most. They told me that they can't use customer parts. They get their parts FROM Napa. So their idea was to let me come in the next day to diagnose it. Then they order the parts from Napa and then I come back to get them installed. I'm sad that West Yellowstone only has this as an option. read more

I wish I could give more than five stars. We pulled in unannounced with a coolant issue in our well used Subaru. The gal behind the counter was very nice and got a mechanic to look at it almost right away. Meanwhile we heard a guy with a RV Wonder how in the world they got the work done so quickly. The mechanic found our problem and explained how we didn't need to go through any great expenditure just to get ourselves home so far away. Didn't charge us. So all I could do is tip him and write this review. You would think an auto shop in West Yellowstone would take full of advantage of Jordi situation. Not Claire and Dee's! read more

I would be careful about dealing with this shop. I guess because they kind of have a monopoly in West Yellowstone. Very pleasant employees. I stopped in and inquired about an oil change for my Super Duty Ford and was quoted $ 180.00 for an oil change which included topping off all fluids. I dropped my truck off as scheduled and was contacted upon completion as they said. However, when picking up and paying for their services the cost had now jumped to $ 246.00 with the explanation that they had to purchase an oil filter to complete the oil change. My argument was that the estimate was to include everything as I don't believe you could quote something as a complete job and add an unforeseen such as an oil filter. After some negotiations the bill was dropped to $200.00 of which I still am not happy. Beware of the old switch and bait with these guys. Bill read more

We couldn't have had a better experience at Claire & Dee's shop. On our way to Utah, my husband blew a tire about six miles from the shop. We hobbled into town on the spare and they promptly replaced the tire. Such a great experience following a stressful situation. Big thanks!!! read more

We were on our way home from a road trip and heard a metal on metal noise on our front tire. We stopped in and one of the mechanics checked our breaks, and topped off our air all out of the kindness of his heart. They were so kind to us and answered our inquisitive kids questions. The other day I had a flat tire. asked for it to be patched and I'd pick it up after I was off work. Seemed like a simple job, I paid up front and returned to work. I went to pick up the vehicle and did a walk around, everything was fine until it wasn't. 2 of my lug nuts on the repaired tire were finger tight. I was quite furious after realizing what was going on. luckily i was able to tighten myself with my own tools. After my own experience and several buddies story's of poor work ethic and bad service i will never return to this shop. Can not in good faith recommend this business to anyone read more

They don't even deserve that one star i was forced to put. Took my car in because I hit a rock and saw a leak. When I park my car outside their business it drained all the oil out, pic in bottom. I told them this so they wouldn't drive it. They still drove it and they mess up the transmission and now they refuse to help or show me the video of my car being driven. If they did nothing wrong why don't they show us the video for us to see that they did push our car as they said they did and it wasn't being driven. read more

Horrible Business. Rude head mechanic Angel and his rude and incompetent receptionist April. They do not answer their phone and they will not call you when your car is done. Zero customer service skills in person too. Poor management of customers and appointments. He installed a new oxygen sensor incorrectly and it caused more extensive and expensive damage to my car. I took it back into them when the check engine light came back on. They told me it was safe to drive but it wasn't. What a waste of time and money. If you've already had the misfortune to take your car here, pay in CASH. They charge a high credit/debit card fee even though It's illegal to charge a fee for a debit card in the state of MT so not sure how they're getting away with this one. I also overheard the receptionist tell several out of town customers that they were the only mechanic or tire shop in town. waiting & waiting for days for no service. As locals we were hoping the new owners this summer of 2024 would have been an improvement, however I will never return. we went in for a tire patch & they accepted the car & said it would be done in 2 hours and we left our phone #. we waited around town and went back in 2 hours to be told they can't do the tire that day now and never called. they made an appt for us for the next morning and then when we arrived they said they couldn't get to it til 3pm. so we came back at 3 when they told us and they said they couldn't get us in again- that was 3 appts they could not keep & did not call us to tell us they could take us so we could carry on with our day. to top it off they quoted us $20 for the repair the first day and then the second day they said it was $40. they originally quoted the Rexburg price and West Yellowstone was double. since it was a 20 minute fix and we wasted hours, we finally went over to Napa and Trent was great and helped us find a patch kit and tire was fixed within the hour. read more

These guys are great. I needed a tire replaced while visiting Yellowstone (no, I did not hit a "fuzzy cow"). The rental had an odd size tire. I spoke with Travis and he said it would take a week to get it. I found it on Tire Rack. They agreed to overnight it to the shop. Travis' guys installed it and called me when it was done. It saved our vacation. Super service, even when they do get the sale for the tire. Highly recommended. read more

My family and I traveled out to Yellowstone from California all while having a reaching brakes. We tried stopping at several places along the way but everyone was either too busy or it would take a long time to fix. We tried our luck here at Point S and Mackie took the time to come out and take a look. Turns out I needed new rotors and break pads. Mackie said he could order the parts and be able to do the job the next morning. I took my truck the next morning and he did the work within a couple of hours. We were on a road trip from Michigan visiting the many national parks out west and couple days into our trip our breaks started to screech and grind , out of all the other mechanic shops we called, Point S was most friendly and easiest to work with, getting us in next day where as other options would be weeks out. Mechanics were able to fully fix our breaks and as well as for a really good price ! We had some pretty severe car trouble in the middle of Yellowstone National Park and were fortunate enough to make it safely to Point S Tire and Auto service in West Yellowstone. The workers here are extremely friendly, helpful, trustworthy and knowledgeable. Since it was a Friday we had to wait a day for our vehicle to be fixed and had nowhere to stay so they even hooked us up with an extremely discounted room at a local inn! These guys are a rip off!!! waited 6 hours to have them replace a valve stem on a tire. I took the tire off and rolled it in myself. Charged me $30 for a 3 min job. I might have been Ok with the price if they were at leased friendly. It sounded like the 2 young punks doing the tire had no clue what they were doing. The old guy in the shop was very grouch. If you find yourself in West Yellowstone and needing tire work, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! or assume the positio. read more

We were in the middle of Yellowstone National Park when our tire pressure warning light went on. Made it back into town and took it to Point S. Made an appointment for the following morning and they immediately took off the tire and checked for any leaks. After 15 to 20 minutes they found no leaks. The service and staff was exceptional. I gave them two stars only because the people were nice. However, they do bad work and won't help you when you try to get it resolved. We were in West Yellowstone for vacation and got our oil changed at Point S. When we got back home to southern Nevada the car was leaking oil all over the garage floor. I took it to the dealer and they said that the oil filter was installed wrong and the oil drain plug was loose so they did a complete new oil change. I've called Point S at least five times and have emailed them from their website. They have not returned my messages or emails. I don't know if they always take advantage of tourists or if they just do bad work or if they just don't care about their customers. Don't go here. read more
