Scam artists. If you want to pay double (or more) for parts, and nearly $200 an hour for labor, go here. If you want to pay $440 for a new battery, go here. Such a shame being the only AAA certified shop in Bozeman, I can't imagine how many people they take advantage of. Stay away. I towed my car there after the engine went limp and the engine wouldn't turn over, when I called at first they said they'd give me a call when it'd be done but didn't tell me that they weren't planning on looking it it that day, the next day after they did look at, the guy on the phone said that they ran diagnostics for 3 hours, and they couldn't find any problem. The next day when I went to pick it up the staff was very rude and had misspelled my name and phone number, which at this point is whatever, and then the front desk worker said that they looked at it for 4.5 hours. They charged me $150, which is fair for labor, but they didn't find the problem. The front desk guy said "maybe it just needed a reset", and I went on my way. Then my car kept breaking down every day after that. I took it to another mechanic and my oil pump was broken. I'm not sure what they were doing for 3-4.5 hours. I wasted $150 by taking my car here. I've been a patron of Eagle Tire since the days of Linus' ownership on Wallace St. I've always been happy with the quality of service and fair pricing... until now! Took my car in on a Monday for a simple "switch" of tires (one set off, one set on, all tires on their own rims) about a 20 minute procedure for a competent tire shop. The quoted price was $40, a surprising increase from the $15 of previous years so that was my first shock. I was told they were backed-up and that the car wouldn't be ready before Wednesday. I agreed and left my car. Wednesday came and I called, only to be told my car would not be ready now until Thursday. I agreed and anticipated pick-up the next day. Thursday arrived and I called only to once again be told that it would now be delayed until Friday. I certainly wasn't thrilled to be without my car for an entire work week but once again relied on yet another promise. By 2:00pm on Friday and upon NO communication from Eagle Tire I called to see when I should pick my car up. I was told there were still 8 cars ahead of mine but that it would be ready by 5:30 closing for sure. What do YOU think happened? Yep, I rolled up at 5:30pm to pick up my car and there it sat, in the exact same spot I parked it almost a week earlier ... with the same tires still on it. I immediately went in and asked for my keys to which I didn't receive even a simple explanation much less an apology. All I got was; "here's your keys". They didn't even care enough to ask why I was picking it up when it was still yet to be serviced. Now I understand "busy", which when the snow starts to fly around Bozeman all the tire shops experience. But what I can't tolerate is poor customer service that says it's okay to lead your patrons on with NO communication and no integrity to deliver when you say you'll deliver. Eagle Tire has taken a long fall from grace since the days of Linus for this customer and seems to have lost all semblance of customer service! I encourage you to think twice about Eagle Tire before committing your vehicle to their parking lot for a week only to find out they couldn't do what they promised to do. Good luck. read more

SUPERB!! Very unexpected for Bozeman and surrounding areas to have a mechanic date scheduled within a week of calling for inquiry. I've only taken my truck to Reseller since purchase, but have recently had poor customer service, extreme wait times even with being the first one in line before open, and being charged for my requested services that were not actually completed... I lost confidence in their shop and finally decided to look for somewhere else. Every place I read reviews and felt like I could trust their service, they were booked 1-1 1/2 months out for brake replacements. I called Eagle Tire, and Kayla was able to schedule me with upbeat and genuine interaction (also rare, in my experience, to find anywhere in Bozeman now). Nick did my brakes and rotors, maintained impeccable communication, and I was able to pick my truck up earlier than inspected that day. He also worked with me and ordered a non-critical sensor from the dealer, and was able to get it replaced by Zack just a few days later... even with thanksgiving weekend and getting dumped with snow. I'm not sure how often they can accept a walk ins, but call ahead to find out. Although I chose to get new tires installed after the first major snowstorm and people were lined up to put on their snow tires - I sat in the waiting area and conducted business for a couple hours. Under New Onership. I was recommended Eagle because of a quality former employee known personally by a friend. Unfortunately, he was no longer there. Quality of work was very poor, even dangerous and lawsuit worthy, according to Auto Works, a reputable shop in Four Corners who fixed the problems created by Eagle. I have a Manila folder documenting the problems, their costs to me, and the costs to repair. My total (which I calculated conservatively and attempted to give them the benefit of the doubt whenever possible) came to $1,282. I received a $413.55 discount for my trouble (this is a very arbitrary number that covered about a third of the cost to me to fix their mistakes). I will happily answer any questions and supply pictures of invoices and issues as soon as I figure out how! Most of the service was performed by the brother of the new Manager, William Baker. The service professionals were very helpful and realistic about the time I would need to wait for my winter tires to be mounted. However the attention to detail is what seems to be missing in so many businesses today. I got my truck back with all four tires installed, but somehow they had misplaced 5 of the 20 lug nuts required. When I asked about the missing nuts, they couldn't find them. For refusing to run the code on my truck in their parking lot and telling me it won't be until February before they could work on my broken down truck. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. I brought in $2000 wheels hoping to get them mounted and balanced and put on my truck. After waiting 7 hours when I was quoted an hour and a half, I show up to my truck without the wheels and tires on and scratches around every single wheel. The shop offered to repaint them, so I waited TWO DAYS past what they quoted me only to have them tell me that they had scratched my wheels again. We had a problem with the valve stem. Sandy ordered the part, had it overnighted, Jake and Shane installed it in no time and didn't want to charge us for anything other than the part. Unbelievable!!! Car Stolen- A few weeks ago I had some problems with my car overheating and got a tow to eagle tire. They said it would be a week and a half until they could take a look at it so I got a call around that time. They said there were a few problems, such as a head gasket replacement and problems with my radiator and that they wouldn't fix it so I'd need to take it somewhere else to be fixed. After calling a few other places that also said they wouldn't take it, I waited over the weekend and asked the Subaru dealership to do the repairs, and all I had to do was get it towed over. When I got to eagle tire, they handed me the key, but no one was able to find the car in the lot. I had to file a stolen vehicle report and while they were somewhat helpful they have been extremely unhelpful and short with me about the whole situation. If you're going to take your car here I recommend having comprehensive insurance because they've told me they aren't responsible for the loss of my car from their property. read more

What I will NOT put up with is bad customer service on top of not calling when tires are in and then a total run around and complete lack of respect and communication. I wouldn't touch this business with a ten foot pole. Kayla is about the rudest person I've dealt with in any type of automotive setting. She, along with the assistant manager will be extremely rude to you for their lack of information gathering, and then blame you for not having your number written down correctly...even though you've never even stepped foot in the place and it's been all phone communication...meaning, they wrote my number down incorrectly and then got an attitude with me for their mistake. They (Kayla) will also tell you they will check to see if your tires have showed up and then never call you back. Those are just some of things I've dealt with the last 3 days. We called Eagle and they gave us some advice over the phone and said we could bring it in for a quick look. We brought it by 20 minutes before closing and they got it in and out quickly. I dropped off my car to eagle tire for an inspection of my brakes and everything was fine they ordered the parts. As I dropped off my car for them to get my new brakes on. They never notified me on when they expected it to be done. They called me and said they are running behind and needed my car for another day. Left them my car and then the next day they never notified me when my car will be done. They kept it the whole weekend and our payment was ready for the next day, but wasn't ready on Monday. Every mechanic that I've been to and my dad as well normally they would allow to get your car if it will be ready the same day but they declined and they are still keeping the car because of the payment now. This all could have been avoided if they weren't pushing me back and back to make room for them. All of the mechanics are younger so they are not as nice and not experienced compared to other local mechanics in town. read more

I had two new tires installed and my brake system diagnosed. I couldn't have the work done on the brakes at that time due to time constraints. As car/tire problems usually go, they end up occurring at the most inconvenient times. My family and I were traveling 600 miles home from my nephew's wedding when my front left tire quickly and unexpectedly went flat on 1-90 by the Belgrade exit. We were able to change the flat tire but soon realized the other front tire had the same issue and the car would not be drivable the last 400 miles to home. Of course our travel day was Sunday!! We quickly got on the phone to many surrounding tire service centers hoping for emergency service that same day and out of nowhere an Eagle Tire truck pulls up to help us out. The service technician was named JAKE and he had not been called for service but saw us on the side of the road and flipped a U-turn to help us out. Jake did not have to stop. He did not have to call his Helena store to track down our unusual/larger size tire. He did not have to stay after closing to meet us back at the shop to install our new tires. He did not have to do any of this extra work on a Sunday. Jake is an example of a guy that is compelled to get the job done right and for the right reasons. Did I mention we were in and out of the shop and back on the road after 45 minutes (after we go the tires from the Helena store). Did I mention that he reset our tire pressure per the computer's programming. Did I mention he wrapped the damaged tires in plastic so we could bring them home in the back of my Yukon (to show the dealership). JAKE was the only reason that we were able to arrive back home in Spokane, WA on the same day that we were planning and all because he decided to stop and help a family on the side of the road. I hope this review gives JAKE enough credit and appreciation that we were not only impressed by his attention detail and competence at fixing our tire problem but also in a world where it is easier to keep driving...guys like JAKE stop and truly help! I worked down the street from Eagle tire, and for 18 years never had an issue. Drop in and meet Linus, the owner, and he'll set you up. Eagle Tire has really gone downhill recently--both the Helena and Bozeman locations (Helena since they lost original manager Phil to retirement). With so many others tire places in both towns, other than for free rotations on tires I've bought from them, Eagle has lost my business. Midday, midweek it took the Bozeman location 2.5 hours to do a simple tire rotation that usually takes the Helena location under 15 minutes. True, an hour of that was waiting to get in, but I watched as they took 40 minutes once the tires were back on the rims to tighten and torque the bolts, slam the decorative covers back on, lower the truck, and back it out. Forty minutes for a five minute task! Worse, both shops lie to me when I ask the tire tread. I know approximately what my tread is--I have a tread tester. When I asked at this rotation (I did watch a person insert the tester so at least they checked the tread on two tires) I was told 16/32 which is impossible for tires that started at 18/32 50,000 miles ago! Why do they so often lie about this? That is not acceptable. Bye, Eagle Tire--until you instill some work ethic and integrity in you employees, you'll not get business from me. read more

Needed some winter tires mounted up on there own set of rims, so they ordered a set for me and threw my tires on. Service was quick, staff friendly despite a very rude woman in front of me. The prices on rims were fair the tires however were not too competitive. I purchased tires from Wal-Mart that he couldnt even order for the same price. They were about 60 bucks more per tire here. Sadly as much as I like to support local businesses I can't justify that kind of price increase, for a set of five tire ed it would have cost me $180.00 more here vs Wal-Mart. Will go back though as they have great selection of tires on hand. They can get rims super quick too, had mine next day! read more
