Within three days of having her ears pierced here, she developed severe pain, heat, hardness and throbbing in her ears and ultimately had to go to urgent care and receive medication. What she told me about the actual piercing procedure is the part I find completely unacceptable. According to her, the piercer put on gloves before setting up, then proceeded to open drawers, touch cabinets, the cart, supplies and other surfaces while wearing those same gloves. She also says the piercer touched/wiped her nose and then continued handling her during the procedure. She also told me that one piercing needle was used for both ears, rather than a new single-use needle being used for each piercing. Then there was the jewelry. She was given butterfly-back earrings on fresh piercings, and the backs were so tight that there was little room for the swelling that followed. She has had numerous piercings before and knew something was seriously wrong when the ears became hot, hard and began throbbing even though she hadn't hit or disturbed them. I understand that complications and infections can occur after any piercing, and I am not going to pretend I can medically prove exactly what introduced the infection. But when someone describes questionable infection-control practices during the procedure and then ends up at urgent care three days later, that is more than enough for me to warn other people before they decide where to get pierced. What disturbed me further was looking into the shop afterward and finding that other customers have previously complained publicly about piercing complications and piercing technique at this location. So her experience does not appear to exist in a vacuum. She also made a point of telling me that the piercer herself was very nice. Frankly, that isn't the issue. Being pleasant does not compensate for poor infection-control practices when you are creating an open wound in someone's body. Based on what happened to my friend and what she personally witnessed during her appointment, I would not allow someone I care about to get pierced here. Absolute Tattoos should take a serious look at how piercing procedures, glove changes, single-use equipment and initial jewelry are being handled at this location.

The shop is located on Fredericksburg road off of 410, and she shares her space with a tattoo shop next door. Parking was easy and accessible. Vanessa is a sweetheart, patient, and very professional. As I go through my ear piercing journey, she helped guide me where to start. Left helix is the beginning for me, and to add other piercings along the way as they heal - per her advice. And believe me, I am so glad I listened to her, the helix is a tricky one and takes a lot longer to heal because it's cartilage. I've had a troubleshooting and a post downsize appointment thereafter the piercing and she has been wonderful in assessing the healing. Love her shop- it's feminine with an edge, and super clean. Piercing is done in a private room. She prides herself on cleanliness. She carries and showcases nice ear candy, I didn't take pics of all. I received a nice aftercare kit with detailed instructions. Any questions I've had along the way, she has answered through email. Good experience thus far.

So happy with our piercings! She gave care instructions, we purchased the sterile saline at the store, and all is good at 4 days. The store is impeccably clean. You have to purchase the earrings at the store, but they have a good selection of simple studs with the flat back. We made a reservation before hand, but they seemed to take walk ins as well. I would recommend a weekday and making a reservation because they had people walking in the entire time we were there. It was a traumatic experience for me. I had made an appointment with an artist separately, Jordan, he was great. However, him and the owner had had previous issues, and midway through the tattoo, the owner had decided to fire him then and there. He said that if he did not leave, he would call the cops. My artist insisted that I finished my tattoo at least, and the owner said no. No? I was in shock. I left that day with an unfinished piece and a half done post up wrap and sterile. I would like to add that this took me 6 months to find another artist to finish up the tattoo, and I paid full price for just half of the tattoo. I would like to say this, which is the biggest part. This tattoo was on my spine. I did not have my top on, and the owner came into the room without any permission from me. This was vulnerable for me and I did not feel safe. I believe everyone should feel safe during their tattoo, and I was not. In addition, he threw the money at me, which was for my artist, and insisted I leave as well. Overall, as a young woman coming into this tattoo shop alone, I was shaking heading to my car. Do not go here. Do not go here if you want to risk leaving with a half done tattoo. I would like to say I am an all A student and I'd like to think a good citizen. I rarely make yelp reviews. Please trust me on this. I'd also like to say the owner keeps accusing me of theft? I don't fully understand the reason. I was a client who listened to what my artist had told me to do. He instructed me to walk downstairs and give them $300, which i think was a % of the price ? Must be a percentage that gets taken out when you have an artist and a shop. All i know was 1) i hit up an artist on instagram, he told me his price and make a deposit. 2) i made the deposit told him i would give the rest of the money to him in cash when i get there 3) i get there give him the cash i owed him started with my tattoo 4) he tells me to bring money downstairs to them 5) i get kicked out If the artist and the owner had issues prior to this, okay, and if the artist was committing theft, why am i at blame when i had no part in it? I had no part of this operation and all i did was what the artist, whom i trusted, to do. Anyways being called a theft for whatever money issues that him and the ARTIST had, i suffered.
