This absolutely gorgeous hotel is set in the outskirts of Newtownards town and is surrounded by gorgeous woodland on all sides.
The hotel plays host to weddings and functions and there was in fact a large, glamorous wedding on today when we called in for lunch.
The gardens are divine and the bride looked amazing sitting on the ornate stone benches among the autumnal trees, there were also beautiful replicas of deer placed around here - a homage to the wild deer that can be found in the area.
I did not stay in the hotel over night but did see many happy looking people with cases getting ready to leave - i'm sure they had a glorious stay as the staff would bend over backwards to help you and the chef is an actual genius.
I had bacon, brie and avacado sandwiches with a bowl of white onion and thyme soup, while my friend had a prawn open sandwich. Both meals were absolutely beautiful - both in taste and presentation, I could have sat in the high ceiling, wooden roofed restaurant all day as the ambiance is just wonderful.
We had two drinks and two meals for £!8 - well worth it for the setting, food and lovely staff! read more
