Simply incredible! We finally had the opportunity to check out this shop while visiting Sarasota and it was the best dessert experience of my life. My husband and I tried 4 cookies, one was kindly gifted, and our jaws were on the FLOOR. Best. Cookies. Ever. We had the original chocolate chip, dark chocolate sea salt, cookies and cream, and toffee pretzel. Drooling just thinking about them. Although it may appear unassuming from the outside, Clarabell Cookies is a little gem within Gulfgate. Immediately upon entering I was met with a warm greeting and cookie samples! There were about 10 varieties of cookies available, all of which appeared extremely fresh and made with love. I decided to order cinnamon bun, dark chocolate sea salt, double dark chocolate chip, cookies and cream, and classic chocolate chip. They were each delicious! Although I prefer a cookie with a slightly crunchy exterior, Clarabell's soft, chewy recipe was great nonetheless! At less than $4 a cookie, they are definitely reasonably priced, especially compared to the big, mass produced chain cookie places. And Clarabell's family-owned status makes it even sweeter than the chains. I'm looking forward to trying some of their other flavors in the future! read more

Of course the service was good I mean one of the owners greeted us so the service was great the cookies well damn Delicious I have to say if you were to buy one and you ate it for the first time the second time you eat the second Cookie by candlelight. Me lady and I we got the espresso chocolate chip and I am not a coffee drinkernor do I favor the tahse of espresso but I do like this damn cookie. We also got the the snickerdoodle snickerdoodle triple chocolate chip and a chocolate chip cookie and hot damn if they weren't all delicious and I'm not saying that they weren't all delicious I'm saying they were all delicious so the way I see it if you haven't had a homemade cookie from your grandmother or a homemade cookie from your mother in a long time I'm going to tell you like this back when you did have it this is better than that. One good thing about clarabelle's is that they're local and they're young entrepreneurs support that go try it out if you don't like it which I highly doubt you will dislike their cookies they make a damn good cookie so get in there and indulge yourself a little one cookie at a time can bring a smile to your face get in there buy it eat it enjoy it you only live once you deserve it. My mom gifted me a box of these bc I am a huge cookie person, I love all types. She said they shipped very timely, and they were nicely packaged in a divided box with each cookie wrapped individually so that was nice. Unfortunately I really disliked the taste of the cookies. The texture was nice and soft, but they were hugely lacking in flavor in my opinion. Also, the chocolate chip cookie had a perfumey, almost synthetic, aftertaste that was very unpleasant. I was referred by a friend . What a pal ! These cookies arrived beautifully packaged 12 individually wrapped to a box. No cracked crushed or otherwise damaged (is there such a thing?) cookies. The individual seal was superior to the initial batch received a year ago. I haven't even gotten to the cookies. With 24 I give out at least 18 to friends and two thumbs up from everyone. I'm an absolute cookie addict which makes it rare for me to say a cookie is 5 stars but WOW, Clarabell has a secret recipe that will get you hooked after 1 visit. First off, Clarabell is the sweetest and runs the shop with her brother who bakes the cookies in the back. Talk about fresh! The classic chocolate chip cookie came fresh out of the oven for me and was hands down the best cookie I've ever had. Authentic, pure, high quality ingredients. Soft in the middle and perfectly cooked. I couldn't stop there... ordered 4 more flavors: double chocolate, peanut butter, cocoa and oatmeal. They all continued to melt in my mouth as I sampled each. I adore these cookies and both Clare, Gates, and even Larry! We come at least twice a month for a box of six: for myself, I'll always get the chocolate walnut, double dark, and another flavor like S'mores or chocolate peppermint (please come back soon!), while my husband will always get chocolate chip, S'mores, and a fun flavor (his current fave is the Espresso Chip-- yum!). These cookies are made with love and clean ingredients, and they're ooey-gooey perfection especially when warmed with a glass of milk.
