Great Heights Creamery was a really great find, and the service ended up being just as memorable as the ice cream. We were helped by someone I believe was named Julie or Julia (I'm not great with names), and we ended up chatting a bit because she used to live in New York too. She was so warm with the kids and let us sample just about every flavor, which made the whole experience feel really personal. The ice cream itself is fantastic--creative flavors, but also genuinely delicious. You can taste the homemade quality in every bite. I had coconut and dark chocolate, the kids had vanilla, dark chocolate, and watermelon mint, and my husband also really enjoyed his choices (though I can't remember exactly what he picked). Overall, it was just a really pleasant stop with great ice cream and exceptional service. It's also right next to Origin Pizza, which is another spot we'd definitely recommend. read more

Being a mom of two young kids, I've tried out nearly every ice cream shop in Sarasota. I can confidently say Great Heights Creamery is hands down the best. The absolute hardest part is deciding on a flavor. So far I've tried their blueberry and lemon ricotta, coffee and donuts, brownie s'more's, and the darkness flavors. All of them have been exceptional. They're rich and delicious and their consistency is creamy and smooth. Some of their flavors change periodically so there's always something new to try. Their staff is super friendly and more than accommodating with sample offerings and the option to split flavors. I'm usually a cup over cone person but their made in-house waffle cone is the best waffle cone I've ever had. I highly recommend it be paired with their ice cream. There's a new ice cream spot in Sarasota and they had their Grand Opening today. Great Heights Creamery started off in the area at farmers markets, pop ups, and local parties. They also locally sourced ingredients in the area and are organic as well as have vegan options. I tried a handful of flavors such as A Drop Of Golden Sun, Somewhere in Tuscany, Dirty Blonde, Bananas Foster, & Salty & Sweetness. While many were quite original, the flavors were quite subtle. I chose the salty and sweetness which is a salted caramel. I thought it was alright. My husband did not like it at all. In terms of service, a young male helped me and provided me with samples of those flavors. At the end, he asked me if I wanted a single or a double. $6 or $9. They also had cone crumbs on the side. Which I've had this at other ice creams shops as complimentary. I asked him for crumbs for two since I was sharing and he made sure they were literal crumbs and then charged me for a full cone. With that, I said absolutely not, how can crumbs be a full cone. I wasn't paying an additional almost $2 for a full cone that was actually crumbs. The owner took it off my bill, and told him to put the crumb bowl to the back. It is the first day, but that's definitely not a good customer service experience with the young male and I appreciate the owner/manager taking it off my bill. I doubt I will be back. This ice cream wasn't for me, and the service simply is learn the difference btw crumbs and a cone. I really was tempted to leave that scoop there if they were to charge me a full cone for crumbs. read more

The ice cream here is phenomenal! They have a nice range of flavors and all are made in house. They have a selection that is permanently on the menu and some that are seasonal. I was able to taste a few flavors before deciding including one made with local honey and another with olive oil and rosemary -- surprisingly good. Pints of ice cream are the best deal and they were nice enough to put a selection of ice cream in the pint for me. The rich deliciousness of their dark chocolate ice cream pairs incredibly well with the salt caramel. Those two were my favorite. I'll definitely be back. The service was great and the place has a nice vibe and lots of out door space to sit and enjoy your ice cream too. read more

There are some really unique and cool flavors too, along with your more standard options. It's in a cute courtyard with outdoor seating and shade. Great option for kids or adults alike.
