This food is amazing! We did takeout so can't comment on the service or ambiance, although it is quite small, three tables I think. We had oxtails, goat curry, and jerk chicken. All were excellent, tender and juicy. The sides almost stole the show, also excellent. Freshly cooked plantains, piping hot. A huge amount of rice and peas, such great flavor. And BTW, not the American version of peas (green), small brown beans sort of like kidney beans but not exactly. Local joint serving awesome Jamaican cuisine. I had the oxtails with peas and rice with steamed cabbage and it was by far the best I have had. Just three tables inside and a shelf with stools in the back. We had the curry goat plate. It was the best curry goat I have ever eaten. Just the right amount of heat. The plate came with rice and peas and cabbage. The rice mixture also had a wonderful flavor. You order at the counter and grab a table. My only complaint was the goat was way over-salted for my taste; even for my husband who loves his salt. But, if salt doesn't bother you I recommend giving this place a try. read more

I work up the street and was craving Jamaican food one day so I came here. The lady working there was outside sitting on a break I assume. I didn't care though I waited patiently for someone to show up at the counter and after about 2 minutes, she came in and took my order saying her husband was around the corner. I ignored that and ordered jerk chicken because I wanted it. First off, she said it was jerk chicken fish and I'm like uh no then changed my order to the next special and she said she didn't have that or this or that. I was about to give up until she finally had something they had. It was so frustrating and I wanted to get out of there. We are lovers of of Caribbean food and read previous reviews but decided to give it a try anyway. Big Mistake! Per my Antiguan wife the curry chicken was horrible and you can barely taste the curry. Oxtail was not as bad but you don't have to worry about seeing us there again read more

Disappointing. I'm a big fan of Jamaican food and the food here was just not good. Had the jerk chicken and it was awful. Chicken was not fresh and had a bad chicken taste and there was this bad sweet and spicy sauce over it that was disgusting. Usually rice is very good at any Jamaican restaurant but even the rice was not good here. It didn't have enough of the flavorful jerk chicken sauce that it should have to go over the rice. I also tried the ox tail. That was better than the chicken but it didn't again have enough sauce over the rice and it was overcooked and dried. Overall disappointing. read more

This place is suitable for Diners, Drive Ins and Dive. It's one of those hole in the wall type places with deliciously authentic Jamaican cuisine. A very friendly staff. We had the Jerk Chicken with cabbage and rice. The large was enough to share for two. We also tried the beef patty. The tastes took us back to our many visits to Jamaica. We searched out this restaurant based on other Yelpers' recommendations. We are tired of the whole pizza, subs, and burger scene in the Myrtle Beach area, and we are trying different kinds of cuisines here. We are finding some excellent places with this being one of them! We went there on a Wednesday night around 7PM and the restaurant wasn't croweded. The place is not fancy and there not many tables, but if you want good Jamaican food, you will get it here. We had the Oxtails and Brown Stew Chicken entrees with sides of cabbage and rice. The taste was delcious and the portions were generous. The prices were very reasonable also. The service was very good and the employees friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Addendum: We went back to Clarendon Cuisine a week later and ordered the Curried Chicken and Curried Goat platters. Both were mouth-wateringly delicous! read more

When I went they only had one dish available. I was a little disappointed. What I had was decent the chicken in brown stew. The beef patty was normal, not homemade. Overall, I think if they had more traffic coming through their doors they would do well and have more pots cooking at a time. I often wonder why cooks making the simple food from poor nations charge so much as soon as they leave the native shores. I ordered the jerk chicken plate. The rice and peas are quite good. Rice is the main dish and is even placed in the large section of the Styrofoam carry out container. The jerk chicken and the side of steamed vegetables occupy the smaller divisions. The vegetables were excellent but the bony jerk chicken was not very spicy and a bit too wet. For ten bucks I expected more than this. With some adjustments to portions this could be a good alternative for those tired of barbecue and fried fish. read more

The food on the other hand (the reason we're here) just didn't make the cut. We ordered the jerk chicken. It was a charred mess and over priced. We paid $6.00 for a leg quarter. The sides we ordered were cabbage and rice and peas. Both cabbage and rice are some of the cheapest food on the planet but I doubt they served me 2 tablespoons cabbage and half-cup of rice. This was a nice find thanks to Yelp, as most reviews are stating, excellent experience and the owner was quite nice and extremely helpful for our first visit. Jerk Chicken was flavorful and spicy just the way we like, not salty. The cabbage was cooked to perfection not a cabbage soup. Rice and peace moist not soggy and very tasty. Wish we had more time in the MB to try more of the menu. Passed their info onto others staying at the hotel and even to freinds heading down next week. Great for take out or a quick dine in.
