The most professional, detail-oriented move in experience I've had in my 10 years living around Los Angeles. Toya did a great job showing me around the various available units that matched what I was looking for, had packets of information that laid everything out clearly, and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. I see some noise related complaints in other reviews, so I wanted to mention so far here I've experienced the quiet end of the standard "living in an apartment" noises/noise level. Apartment hunters, don't do it. Go to the Yelp for Cirrus HQ in Woodland Hills and read all those reviews and notice nearly identical tenant comments from different properties. This building is no different. Tenants have had it with the Cirrus MO. The Rodney tenants got together and threw them out by pushing the owner to fire Cirrus earlier this year. This building should be next. It's a little harder for us here at Clarington Apartments/The Clarington because our owner stays out of sight. So far out of sight that his business is not even properly registered with the California Secretary of State. That makes him hard to reach, and he may not be a legal entity anymore. Behind that entity is just one individual, and we know that he lives nearby. We wonder if the owner knows about the fires that the homeless encampment started behind the building, which nearly reached the property. Does he know that on-site building management doesn't monitor danger spots, that it actually can't monitor the encampment and others who case out the property because the security cameras were never fully installed as promised? Does he know that there are ongoing power outages which have nothing to do with LADWP? Does he know that, although we endure loud, disruptive, and seemingly official city-mandated fire equipment testing, The Clarington has not submitted the results of a fire alarm test to the city since 2021 and the fire alarm has not passed fire department standards since 2019? Cirrus could be overcharging him to manage the property as much as they overcharge tenants to live here. The building manager Kevin has proven himself a bully and a liar. His tactics assume that we don't know the law and can't check public records. This building has had ongoing power outages and each time management blame-shifts to LADWP. In reality the failures are internal. See photos. Because perimeter locks and parking garage gates run on electricity with no backup, we get locked out and our cars get locked in. They are, in effect, impounding our cars without notice. Electricity is a basic habitability issue but it is also an employment issue while working from home, because electricity = wifi access = presence in our offices. The Clarington (Cirrus) management has long known that electricity is unpredictable and that they are apt to surprise us with an illegal lockout or car impound at any time, but instead of doing a permanent fix, they cover it up. A long-promised generator doesn't work for our apartments or even the perimeter locks and parking gates. We hung on through lengthy testing, believing improvement was coming. We were never going to get a generator that works, and along the way, The Clarington only used the same stalling tactics with LADBS inspectors that it uses with tenants. And for each inspection they knew they could not pass, tenants' days were still put on hold. Fire equipment test results are also public record. We now know that we don't have a working system and they staged disruptive tests during our workdays for nothing. See photos. Fire safety should have been top of mind at the beginning of last year, because we had 3 fires, 2 in December 2021 and 1 in January 2022. Still no improvements. Most property improvements are also public record. The way it works is, a property gets permission from the Department of Building and Safety to do work and "opens" the permit, meaning the city authorizes them to do the work, and then when it's finished, the assigned inspector goes to verify that the work was done per code, and "closes" the permit. At that point, we would be able to find the permit in ZIMAS and LADBS and see what is complete. Those records of what was actually done do not square with the work that has been described to tenants. We're overcharged for fantasy improvements and amenities and we tolerate a lot of construction noise, power outages, water shutoffs for nothing. Either management is inventing the pretext to shut something down so that they can tinker and try to jerry rig the latest issue, or they're putting on a show to appear to address a complaint or test a system. It's all performative. I work in construction lending and it is my job to evaluate finished work and appropriate costs and timelines. Cirrus also suppresses tenant communication. I got sick from carbon monoxide from my gas fireplace. Unchecked, carbon monoxide can be fatal. I was lucky that the SoCalGas technician caught it when he was here for the stove. When I tried to tell neighbors how to get their own free test with SoCalGas and how to contact our assigned housing inspector on the community message board, Kevin (or maybe the new assistant manager Gilbert) took my post down. Cirrus will probably try to get this taken down, but Yelp moderators won't do it. Every tenant at The Clarington deserves a rent refund. read more

This place is not worth it. Way too expensive for the low quality of the building and facilities. 1. Noise issues- I can hear TVs from next door and above me, every step the person above me takes, every noise that happens in the hallway and despite reporting it multiple times, nothing is ever done about it. I was told when I toured the complex that it was so quiet and there was no noise issues, but that turned out to be a bunch of lies. Also, the building shakes like there's a earthquake multiple times a day. 2. The management company is incredibly oppressive. The on site property manager is rude, disrespectful and should not be allowed to work around people. At least when Diana was here she was a pleasant person and knew how to speak to people properly. But she has since left. Kevin does not know how to speak to people, thinks he can strong arm people into whatever he wants and thinks he is the king of this complex and we are all just his servants. He is no understanding of the type of attitude and communication needed to make a landlord tenant relationship work. 3. This company openly discriminates and when you bring it to their attention, they will refuse to discuss it and cannot provide any support for their positions. read more

I lived at Clarington Apartments for 4 years and I can confidently say this is one of the best apartment complexes in the Culver/Palms area. Management is super accommodating and friendly. The community has undergone renovations (adding a fitness center, redoing the hallways, upgrading the laundry room, etc) and management has handled this as seamlessly as possible during a major pandemic. While the renovations could be inconvenient at times, management always kept the community in the loop and I appreciate the transparency. For such a large community, prices are pretty moderate compared to other similarly sized complexes in the area. We lived in a studio and a 2 bedroom and both units were bigger than what's typical in the area. The units are on the older side but we didn't really have problems with any of our appliances. When we did have to fix something, maintenance responded quickly and efficiently. Diana, Donna, and the rest of the team really foster a sense of community in the building by hosting giveaways and contests for the residents. It's no small feat to organize events for a community this big so I appreciate the hard work! I recently moved to a new area due to my partner's job but I am grateful to Clarington apartments for being our home for the past 4 years. My daughter and I moved here after my separation from her father. It was definitely what I needed to get on my feet. My first impression was very positive. I was greeted by Diana, the assistant property manager. She gave me a tour and honestly her charismatic personality is what sold me. She has since moved on, but the property manager held everything together in her absence. We had the step-down studio which to me was expensive, but for my first apt as a single mom the amenities balanced it out. The 4-foot pool and jacuzzi were perfect, my daughter learned to swim because I was able to stand up and assist her no matter where she ended up. I couldn't fully use the gym but it was nice. It wasn't huge but it was big enough and had what one would need. I liked having a mail room, I never had to complain about not receiving packages because we lived on the first floor, but can't say that for floors 2-4. Amazon would frequently just leave them in there which is not appropriate, but that's an Amazon complaint. Overall my experience was very positive, my daughter loved stopping by to greet the staff. She and I both felt safe living here. Maintenance was on top of our orders and the security team was pleasant and always patrolling. If we didn't have a family member who needed my help we would have stayed. The 4 stars reflect the experience, would have given it 5 stars if they hadn't jacked up the price after 1 year of living there, but that's business. It increased the year all of Los Angeles was finally able to increase rent, so I got caught up in that. So if the price was increased at a reasonable rate and the time that I'd been there was taken into consideration I would have given it 5 stars. But still, the on-site staff were great, they enhanced my living experience. My daughter and I will miss our little apt, but are thankful for the opportunity to grow. read more

Lived here for 10 years. Donna & Staff are some of the most excellent people I've ever had the privilege of renting/ living with. No place is perfect, that being said, the 5 star review is based upon a 10-year rental history, property management, ease & quickness of repairs, location, parking, and security. My only complaints would be the increase of rent year after year, and the addition of water & trash on top of rent, which to my knowledge involves most rental properties, and not just Clarington Apartments. I lived at Clarington for approximately 2.5 years and am really pleased with my stay. I lived on the third floor (no one above me) directly across from the Smart and Final entrance/loading dock. While they are VERY noisy, you get used to it and it's not that noticeable with the doors closed. Maintenance was great about fixing things and the management staff was always very helpful. Parking was secure underground and the security could regularly been seen patrolling the building and were very nice to residents as well. I never had a package stolen and had no major issues with neighbors as everyone is kind of pleasant and keeps to themselves. Overall great location and happy memories at Clarington. read more

I've lived in a studio here for about a year, and just signed a new lease to move into the 1br right next door to my old studio. I love this apartment complex: its well managed, the apartments are beautiful, there's a gym and pool and sauna, and the leases are for 6 months with month to month after. There are some issues that others have pointed out: Smart and Final noise is annoying and the bathroom ventilation is pretty bad so you have to keep your fan on 24/7. But that said, the managers are actively working to keep Smart and Final less of a noise issue. The community is chill, and for the area compared to nearby luxury apartments (including the gray building across the street) the price is cheap. Its not as luxe as a real luxury building, but its the right balance for me. read more

I love this place! Only moved because I had to (moved to DC). Cinda and Donna are awesome! They've worked there for years and feel like family. It's not like other complexes that have turnover 3-4 times while you're staying there and no one knows what's going on. They really get to know their tenants and care. Maintenance is also amazing so is security. I loved the entire Clarington family! The apartments themselves are quite spacious. I'm originally from Arizona so I'm used to having a lot more space, central air, and a pool, Clarington had all 3 (and apparently in LA that's hard to come by!). My apartment was right in front of the pool and surprisingly super quiet. The pool was absolutely divine and usable almost year round due to the sunny LA weather. The bathroom is also updated and big, loved that! Just all around amazing. Have nothing but good memories from there. Love love love this place! read more

I lived at the Clarington Apartments for about 2 1/2 years and only moved for a job in a different area. But now I am back in LA and wish I never left my apartment! The studios have a great layout, they feel more like a 1 bedroom. They don't use cheap materials or cheap fixes like a lot of other companies and maintenance was always super attentive. During my stay they replaced my A/C and blinds among a dozen other smaller things. I highly recommend renting here, I wish I never left because of course now the rent is higher! If you decide to rent here you will be getting a great deal for the area! read more

I will update this review once I have spent a few months living in the complex, but I can speak to my leasing and move in experience. Diana is one of the best leasing agents I've had the privilege of working with. From the start she was very responsive, transparent and personable. She gave me tips on how to set up the apartment based on previous tenants to make the best use of the space. From that point onward, everything was clear, quick and seamless. The complex itself is constantly being up-kept by onsite staff members. There are two brand new facilities that are very useful: the gym and the business center. Also I don't want to forget to mention a laundry room on every floor. There is a staff that patrols the complex for added safety in the evening hours. Lastly, they have the intercom downstairs and the laundry machines set up on apps which is just another functionality to make things easier for renters. Diana was very upfront with all these details and make me feel 100% comfortable during the entire process. I've pestered her a few times to come by and take measurements and she never once turned me away or felt bothered by my (countless) ask. Thanks Diana! Been living here since December 2014 and absolutely love it here. We have a small Welsh Corgi that enjoys living here too. We only had to pay a deposit and pet deposit. There is no pet rent unlike other places that nickle and dime you for everything. Signed a 6 month lease and it's the same price as a one year. We got their executive studio and is pretty huge, its basically a one bedroom except that instead of a wall, you get blinds that opens up the room. Walk in closet, renovated bathroom etc.. Everything feels new and clean. The facilities are always consistently kept clean. Since you only get one parking spot with a studio, I've had to park my car in the neighborhood and haven't had any problems. The gym is probably as equal to a hotel gym, for a guy it has the bare necessities, but not enough to cancel your gym membership. I see a pool guy come weekly to clean the pool so that's always in tip top shape. Laundry is down the hall, $1 to wash, $1 to dry, open 24 hours. I take my dog out often, even at 1AM and feel safe seeing security downstairs in front. I live where there is view of smart and final and their parking lot and was warned that I may hear noise, but honestly, if the double pane sliding door is closed I don't hear a thing. (I've lived on Motor Ave across from the Fire Station so I know what annoying truly is) Only Cons are that there is no parking gate clicker, you have to open your window and simply turn a key to open the gate. (Yes we're lazy) Overall, I feel this is the best managed and well kept apartment complex I've lived at. Worth every penny. read more

When I first joined this apartment complex, it had 2.5 stars, so I'm happy to see it's received some love since then. My boyfriend and I have lived here for a year and a half. The complex is great. The rooms are actually really nice. We live in what is kind of a hybrid between a 1 bedroom and studio. The bedroom is only separated by blinds. But it's a really nice unit. The bathrooms especially feel really nice (the shower curtain for instance is curved like in a hotel, giving you a lot more space). The pool and hot tub are great, and I use the gym almost daily. Some of the machines are brand new (although like another reviewer mentioned, I wish they had free weights). What makes this complex stand out is its staff. Cinda & Donna on the management team seem like the know the entire complex by name. They are always in the office, super friendly, and ready to help with anything. I always stop by the management office, steal their candy, and say hi. They will leave packages in your apartment if you're out of town, and after there was some crime in the Palms area, they left everyone a reassuring note on their doors about maintaining security. The grout on my shower got moldy, and I asked Cinda if they could re-grout it while I was away over the holidays. I forgot to remind her, but she remembered and I came home to a sparkling clean shower. Which brings me to the maintenance guy, Jose who is fantastic as well. Work orders are usually filled within 24 hours. I also feel very safe here. It's very secure and there's a security guard who sits in the lobby all night. Big ups to the entire management team at this complex for creating a great experience for residents. read more

I lived at The Clarington from 2003-2004, and I absolutely loved it. I only moved because I bought a condo, but if it weren't for that I would have stayed. Now granted it is 7 years later, and I am not sure if they have the same management, but when I was there, Cinda in the office was great. And Jose and Javier from maintenance and janitorial were fabulous too. They maintained the property really well and fixed things in a prompt manner. I used the pool all of the time, and I felt really safe there. I lived on the 4th floor with a balcony overlooking the pool and i used to keep the sliding door on my balcony open at all times to let my cats relax on the balcony. The perfect studio apartment in West LA with the best management and maintenance team I've ever had. Donna and Cinda are gentle, kind, funny, compassionate, understanding, accommodating and genuinely sincere people. Since the office is located right by the exit, you get to see them in the mornings before work, grab a cup of coffee and chat for a moment. It's a great way to start the day. Anytime I had an issue they were there for me and had it taken care of quickly. They also have a tenant of the month, send you birthday messages on your door and have cookies and candy during the holidays! Great team and an invaluable asset to the Clarington apartments. The maintenance team is extremely friendly, helpful and great at their jobs. A true A team. José and Armand will always be there for you in a kind and professional manner. The best maintenance team I've ever known. The studio has a creative and very spacious layout with a unique iron fence with sliding blinds to give the studio a sense of privacy from the bedroom to the living room. Smart & Final is right next to the apartment complex and the noise is barely there if the balcony is open, but when you close the balcony its serenely quiet. The ventilation in the bathrooms is a problem but only during July-August. Lots of friendly dog and cat owners. Your neighbors are genuinely kind and welcoming. Lots of closet space (deep walk-in closet). Beautiful stone-tiled bathtub/shower. Beautiful wooden kitchen and bathroom cabinets with marble tops. Nice covered parking with pool, sauna, workout room, pool table, and beautiful neighborhood to walk around. As typical with LA, parking for visitors is troublesome but part of life here. To summarize, the Clarington is genuinely homey for ages 25+ that is friendly and helpful for an affordable price for its location and amnesties. My wife and I lived at clarington for almost 4 years in a 1 bed room. You only stay that long if you are completely happy. The staff are excellent (especially Cinda, Donna, Manny, Jose, and Byron aka the best security guard in west LA). Maintenance issues are resolved quickly, the apartments are quality. Pet friendly. There is even a small gym (although the machines need updating). Close to a lot of places to eat and walking distance to a movie theater. We left because we felt the rent was rising too quickly, but it was bitter sweet because this was a great place to live in LA for the first time. read more

This place is awesome. Not only is it super conveniently located (walk to grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants and nightlife) and newly renovated, but the staff is PHENOMENAL! We lived at Clarington Apartments from September 2013 to September 2015. It was an excellent place to live and we miss it already. It wasn't perfect though; nowhere is. So here are the good things and the bad things about Clarington Apartments: Good: - The staff is amazing! - Cinda and Donna are really wonderful and I enjoyed chatting with them whenever I came to get mail or whatever. They were really understanding and generous in all of my interactions with them. They're great. - The handyman is also great. One time my smoke detector went off at 1 am for no reason and someone came to help me with no complaints at all. It was lovely to know that whatever went wrong I could just let Cinda and Donna know and it would be fixed within a day or two. - The cleaning and security staff were also really friendly. - The pool and hot tub and sauna were lovely. We didn't use them enough, but we totally miss them now. The gym was mostly really great except for a couple of small things that I'll mention in the "bad" section. - Easy walking distance from downtown Culver City. There are more great restaurants within 10 minutes walk than you'll visit in a whole year. New ones are opening all the time. Walk down the street to a movie! It's the best. - Very pet friendly :) - Low deposits. It's really easy to pay rent, etc. - Mail service! This is great because it protects your packages when you're busy or at work. - They always leave birthday cards and holiday cards and stuff like that! It's really sweet. - The kitchen cabinets and hardware are all pretty new. - Leaving was pretty painless. They helped us through the whole process and were very clear about what we'd be charged for. The deductions from our deposit were very fair. Bad: - You're right next to a Smart and Final. This means there's a parking lot right outside your window (depending on where your apartment faces). This means car alarms all day long and truck deliveries at 5 am with their engines idling for ages. It also means that the air is pretty smoggy which can make your entryway carpet dirty. - You're also right on Venice. This means fire engines, cop chases, helicopter chases, obnoxious deafening motorcycles, etc. It's noisy. - The immediate neighborhood isn't great. You're a short walk from a great area, but it's not a place where you're excited to jog right outside. - A couple of gym gripes -- there were no free weights. The owner was not interested in adding even a basic 200 dollar dumbbell set. This made it so that I had to join a gym even though I had a gym right there in the building. Some of the cardio machines are pretty old and they break quite often. - At least in our experience, it's a pretty impersonal community. We didn't know any of our neighbors. We didn't even know the names of the people whose door was 4 inches from our door. People are friendly in the elevator but then you never see them again. All in all, we loved our time at Clarington Apartments and we would certainly recommend it. It was was good place to call home. read more

Late review - I was house hunting in June and found this apartment on one of the apps I was using at the time. I had the best experience with both the manager Donna and the leasing agent directly helping me. I did not rent here as the apartment that was available was not suitable for my requirements, but I still wish the one I wanted had availability. Overall, the premises is clean and the corridors and elevators are bright and clean too. The place is buzzing with activity which I loved! The pool and the gym looked great! And the rent was reasonable. I must say their studio apartments are really great and are more spacious than regular studios! The two bed I was looking at was really lovely as well with a nice fully loaded kitchen, two bathrooms, spacious bedrooms and a nice, cozy living space. Will definitely consider this property in the future! Rare to find customer service that is both efficient and considerate such as what I found here, these days! Totally recommend! read more

We lived here for 2 years and moved out recently. Few main points 1. The management is notorious for taking off your entire deposit by showing some baseless reasons (like carpet replacement, cleaning chimney etc...). Even if you give the apartment back in pristine condition they will still find reasons to keep your entire deposit. Just beware of this and take pictures before and after. Many of our friends who lived in the apartment also got charged like this. This is the main thing I did not like about the apartment. 2. The prices are a bit high compared to similar apartments in the neighborhood. If you go down the clarington ave and Jasmine avenue you will find many apartments that look much better but are priced at 1400$ (1 BR) while clarington charges 1700$ for 1BR 3. Motel kind of look; the corridors resemble motel 6 and inside the apartment too it has cheap looks 4. Service: It is fine. I didn't find any problem with getting urgent things fixed. If they are not urgent, then they get delayed for a week upto few weeks though. Overall I wouldn't recommend this apartment unless you want to stay close to venice blvd and are willing to pay the high price and lose the deposit paid read more

This apt building is so desirable to me.I went in there to checkout the places they had available.It is a bit overpriced but the place is well organized and well maintained.To be honest the service and organization is better than "Centrepointe" on Overland.I like the vibe of the building and they honestly make the tenants feel like low key homeowners. They handle all complaints and they make sure it is a level of respect between all tenants(125 or more)From the outside it looks like it doesn't compare to the Victor on Venice,to be honest I don't think I got the same vibe of service in the victor.The victor is more strict,modern,and more overpriced for wayyy less space.The clarington apts has restrooms inside that are comparable to las vegas architecture.I am desperate to move in there but i still gotta weigh my options.The clarington apts blew my mind away. read more

We were kind of happy to live in Clarington Apartment for two years and four months. Eventhough, it's noisy from time to time on weekends (We lived by a pool ). However, we are very unhappy when we moved out. First, we have given one month notice on July 25 and moved out on Aug 25 but we still need to pay the rental until the last day of Aug. Secondly, We were charged $165 from our deposit for full clean which is fine. But, the most ridiculous thing is we were charged $556.88 for replacement of carpet. They said it was badly stained but we think it is cleanable. and the way they calculate the charge is like this: Carpet cost is $ 1078.30 and installed on March 2010 .They assume it can be used for 5 years (60 months). Therefore, when we moved out, they paid for the use (29 months) and we have to pay for the rest (31 months) which is $556.88. It implies that for the tenants who stays shorter, you probably only have to pay for carpet clean if it is not badly stained. If you stay for five years, you don't have to pay anything for carpet. If you stay like 2 years like us, you have to pay $500 to $600 for carpet replacement. Is this reasonable? By the way, they don't offer yearly carpet clean. read more

THINK TWICE BEFORE RENTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I lived in Clarington Apts for 3 years and I have to say we were very happy to leave. For one thing, the rent is way overpriced - do not think that just because the deposit is small, the apt is worth the rent. You can find equally as nice/spacious apts for $200-300 LESS a month in the same area. Second, the building is right by a Smart N Final and the noise from the building is OUTRAGEOUS. Honking, towing, beeping, fights in the parking lot, trucks coming and going all hours of the night - you name it, you will hear it. Finally, the building boasts "luxury style" amenities - but they are built VERY poorly. Apparently our bathroom's fan did not actually ventilate (basically, it was purely for looks), so it was disconnected by the owners a few weeks after we moved in. When we moved out, they charged us $150 from our deposit due to "Bathroom not properly ventilated - mildew." I am told it is because we did not keep the window open at all times when the bathroom was in use. You'd think that if you're paying $1700 for a 1 bedroom apt, IT WOULD HAVE A WORKING FAN!!! Obviously, on days when it is cold/hot and you have A/C or heat going, you don't want to have your bathroom window open for long periods of time. Furthermore, when I called to discuss this charge, the manager was very rude, kept cutting me off, and tried to tell me she'd really done me a favor because she could have charged me for paint on top of everything else we were charged (equally bogus $350 for cleaning and carpet replacement) even though she admitted we were great renters (VERY clean, always on time with rent, no complaints whatsoever). This was a new Manager, not the one we originally rented with. Bottom Line: We left very dissatisfied and knew other renters who felt the same way. And after my interactions with the new Manager, I would stay away from the place!!!! read more

Once my lease is up, I will be looking for another Apt., the Manager Donna talks down to people shows no respect what so ever! If I wanted to be treated this way I would live at the office! We had a disagreement I walk out of the office and she continued to yell at me from her office as I was at the elevator! The only time I can get a response without the attitude is from Cynda or even the handy man! We had a problem with a pet owner letting their dog pee in the stairwell, this has been going on for well over a year (according to other residence) and yet the carpet still has not been cleaned, and it smells like urine, as the days get hotter the smell gets worse! This is a good place to stay, just behind Smart and Final store + lot of other grocey stores like Kavitha Grocery, Asia Foods etc. Also in a safe neighborhood. The management staff is very friendly and helping. Also walkable distance from good restaurants like Natalee Thai, Annaporna + just a quarter mile from Brotman Medical Centre. In all this is a cool place to stay and enjoy life in LA !! read more

I lived at the Clarington from April 2014 - December 2014. It's considered Palms but is only a 5-10 minute walk to downtown Culver City. The nice thing about this place is that you only have to sign a 6 month lease and then you go month to month. It's not cheap but it's not outrageous either. I wasn't there for a full year so I'm not sure what their annual rent increase is but I don't think it's very much. I lived in a studio on the 2nd floor facing the Smart & Final parking lot. Pros - The studio is actually pretty big, about 621 sq. feet and looks just like a one bedroom. I actually toured the one bedroom and preferred the studio because the layout was nicer and it was cheaper. It has a huge walk in closet and good size bathroom. The toilet/tub are separated from the mirror/sink area by a door which is nice if you plan on sharing it. Instead of a wall that separates the bedroom from the living room, they have floor to ceiling blinds. Also, the rooms are on different levels. It's only a difference of two stairs but it's enough to make it feel like a different space. The kitchen and bathroom have updated fixtures and there is a nice fire place. My biggest concern upon moving in was the noise. I thought since I was so close to the grocery store that the trucks would be extremely loud. However, I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, I only heard them a couple times but it was never loud enough to actually bother me. I never heard any noise from my neighbors either. The studios come with garage parking and the building is secure. There is a security guard on the weekends that walks around the property. Also, they allow dogs for no additional monthly charge but you do have to pay a pet deposit. Cons - The building is very diverse which I loved but the hallways smell like food all the time. Seriously, all the time. The stairwells smell like a mix between food, animal feces, and wet hair. They clean them often but I guess when you allow animals it comes with the territory. If they changed the carpets and painted the walls it would make a huge difference. When you walk down the hallway, you don't expect the units to be as nice as they are. The gym/pool area need updating. They are good if your not a gym goer but they are old machines and sometimes don't work. Management - Both Cinda and Donna are very nice and easy to get a hold of. The maintenance manager Jose lives on property and was always available within a day or two if I needed anything looked at. They accept packages so you don't have to worry about being home to get them. Overall, I really enjoyed living there. I only moved because I had to relocate for work. it's ok just like the three star says. It is definitly pricey. We have moved out of here but the new manager is definilty not like the old manager. The new manager is all about legally we can't do this, she tells it like all in typical business and n legal lingo that she talks in. It doesn't make the resident feel very welcomed to live there. I have lived at here at the Clarington Apartments for just about a year now. I have to say that I am completely surprised by the review below. Both Donna and Cinda, by far, are the best property managers I've ever had. They have been nothing but friendly and helpful anytime I have gone by the office. Donna has even offered and taken a postal package and placed it in my apartment for me when I had to leave town once on an emergency. I didn't even ask! She is always smiling and says hello to me even if she is busy. I just can't believe that she would yell at someone across the lobby of our building, or treat anyone with any level of disrespect. As for the carpet replacement, the tenet that was allowing their dog to urinate in the stairwell did so for about one year, however. Once Donna started working here, there were notices placed on every stairwell entrance notifying the owner that this behavior was unacceptable. They had also attempted to clean the carpet in that hallway several times over the past year. I've even seen air freshening canisters at the base of the floor landings. Plus the carpet has been replaced. I can't say enough good things about this place and the two ladies in the office. We went for a couple of months without a pool at the start of summer because it was leaking and they threw us a BBQ pool party when the repairs were finished.
