After years of renting, in January 2025 my husband and I finally began our house search. Disclaimer: I may be a little biased. To say that it was a no brainer on selecting Ray as our realtor is as real as it can get. Not only is he smashingly handsome, but that accent had us at hello. Selecting a realtor you can trust is almost harder than finding your life partner but over the years of knowing Ray and seeing his commitment to his clients and how seriously he took his tasks made it the natural choice. Our journey with Ray started from many years of close friendship, but then came time of expanding our footprint to make room for a dog in our family. We met at San Pedro Square to discuss what we were looking to do, what area we were looking at, timeline and many other options. Originally, we were going to sell our current place and buy a new one in the desired location. Ray gave us the pros and cons of selling v. keeping as a rental and we decided on the latter. He counseled us on the steps we needed to prepare and since we were not in a rush this worked perfect for us. After San Pedro Square, Ray setup a portal for us based on our criteria at the time. We checked out places to see what was available and decided we needed to increase our budget to get what we wanted in our desired neighborhood. In the beginning, he seemed sad that we were going to open houses without him. He had a fair point ... how was he able to do his job if he didn't know what we liked and didn't like about some of the houses on the market? He debriefed us often to find out our likes and dislikes and adjusted our search from there. Once we started touring jointly, our searches got better and better. Ray's advice on items, such as road noise and resale value was much appreciated. At first, we thought Ray was giving us the white glove treatment for being such close friends and rugby mates, but quickly we realized he treats every client as if he has known them a lifetime. And as we have found out he becomes lifelong friends with a great many of his clients and they reach out to him as repeat customers. Fast forward after a losing bidding war, seeing tons of houses and not wanting to compromise, we finally found our perfect house. We found a move-in ready place in a wonderful neighborhood and couldn't be happier. Over 3 months later, we still have not seen one new listing that would have been better for us. He's friendly understands exactly what the client wants asks all the right questions and is very responsive. As such he has also become a good friend. We found Ray online while looking for properties. Well, we did not even consider going to someone else after meeting Ray once. We were first time home buyers and did know nothing about the home buying process and its hassles. Ray was available at all times to help us with any questions we had. He was completely committed giving the best home buying experience. Time for an update... We decided to move abroad for a year and asked Raymond to help list our house for us in the summer of 2016. As soon as our house hit the market, so did a couple of other ones in our community. We weren't getting the offers we were anticipating and it was nearing our move out date. So, on Raymond's suggestion, we decided to take it off the market and rent it out. He sold that house of ours for us the next summer and got us into a new development that he tracked the construction milestones while we were out of the country. When we returned this past June, we got our keys and moved right in. This was my first time seeing the house completed and I was disappointed by the size. I was expecting it to be bigger than it was. We expressed our concern to him and he was able to get us a cash offer within a week! I know, sounds surreal, but that's how good he is! We ended up keeping our house, but I can't tell you how appreciative I was to be able to have that option available to me at the time.
