I am a regular Classpass user and cannot recommend this place enough. I've taken so many of their yoga variations, and every instructor is a joy to work with. They explain movements clearly, offer helpful modifications, and create an environment where everyone feels welcome. The studio is always clean and well-organized, and they go above and beyond by providing and setting up mats and props, which makes every class feel easy and stress-free. The overall vibe here is just unmatched. The yoga recovery candlelight classes, in particular, feel like a true reset. I leave those sessions feeling calm, centered, and relaxed for the rest of the evening. Astute offers something genuinely special, and I would confidently recommend it 5 out of 5. You can generally park right out front with city parking. So you never have to worry about circling the block and worrying about being late. read more

Update: After speaking with Rebecca regarding my experience with Amanda, it is very clear to me that she cares more about the reputation of her business over the treatment and care of her patients. My experience working with Amanda Ferrari was overwhelmingly negative. After several months of therapy, I left feeling significantly worse than when I started. The experience had such a profound negative impact on my mental health, that after ending therapy with Amanda, I sought care from another therapist to help me process and recover from what I experienced during "treatment". I try to exercise care when writing reviews such as this one, but this is the type of therapist that you should avoid at all cost. I called and made my appointment to come on a Saturday Afternoon Class. The atmosphere has a calm and peaceful energy. The experience is amazing. Astute provides other classes to sign up for as well yoga, meditation classes, sound bath, therapy sessions, massage etc. They provide free varieties of hot tea and water. Kathryn's classes are outstanding. She shares a wealth of knowledge and expertise, making each session both engaging and effective. Thanks to Kathryn, I've truly fallen in love with Pilates. Attended a workshop centered around regulating your nervous system. As someone within the field, I was very excited to see such a workshop being offered. The instructors were very friendly, welcoming, and created a beautiful safe space to share. They not only offered a yoga perspective to the topic, but also provided a scientific perspective which I think is very important. I am absolutely obsessed with this place. I found it on Class Pass just randomly scrolling wellness businesses in the city and saw reiki energy therapy, so I clicked on it. I booked the 30 minute session truly having no idea what I was walking into. The description says that it "is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes.." There's definitely more to that and I felt like it did exactly what I needed it to. Jillian (I believe that was her name) was AMAZING! She made me feel super comfortable upon walking into the room-which to explain, you go into a private room that reminded me of a massage room but with essential oils flowing through the air, soft healing music, and other healing tools and magic. She explained how the process worked, asked if I had any questions, and let me know what she was doing every step of the way. By the way-you can say yes to a weighted blanket and it essentially feels like you're getting an outstanding massage, except she's barely touching you! Definitely read up more on reiki energy therapy if you're not familiar with what it is, because I could imagine it being very awkward for someone who had no idea what was happening. Overall I had a great time and felt genuinely relaxed and at peace when we finished. She even gave me some helpful tips to take with me which I have been incorporating into my daily routine. Great wellness center is the heart of Lakeview, I had a month pass for yoga and concentrated mostly on restorative yoga which focuses more on relaxation and mindfulness and being demure. Feel like a sanctuary in the midst of the busy areas just a walkable distance away. They have really nice facilities with one main yoga studio and an outdoor area where they hold classes as well. There's two sections to the office, the counseling center which I have not used and the yoga fitness area. You're usually greeted by the instructor through there main area which features a small retail shop of yoga gear and various aromatic toiletries such as essential oils. They offer complimentary in house teas which are quite tasty and various fresh pressed juices which are for purchase. Before entering the studio they have a wall of keyless lockers. Upon entering the studio the rear has a really nice green wall at the head of the studio. We usually take candlelit restorative which has ambient music and candlelit. They also have sound bath yoga which I haven't tried but it is highly recommended. They provide various yoga accessories including yoga mat, bolster, blocks, etc. to fine tune your experience to your personal needs and comfort level. I've had several instructor who were all super friendly and excellent in their instruction. Restorative feature low impact deep stretching held for an extended time. I always leave feeling more flexible and relaxed. The session is topped off with a cold towel with lavender adding olfactory elements to the experience. It's a great and quaint yoga experience as an opposed to large studios. They have a lot more personalized attention. I highly recommend checking them out especially if your practice focuses on reducing stress and increasing relaxation. read more

DO NOT SEEK TREATMENT HERE IF: *You have any behavioral disorders *You experience unexpected mood swings *You experience meltdowns that affect your volume control From the beginning of my treatment I was explicit about the fact that I suffered from angry mood swings and trauma associated with therapists quitting on me without notice. Despite this, I was banned from the building with no notice after having a single loud meltdown. The meltdown in question occurred at the beginning of a therapy session. I was angry and screamed at my therapist. She informed me that I was not allowed to scream like that. I knew I wasn't in full control of my volume, so I offered to leave immediately. My therapist agreed that that would be best. The next day I received an email informing me I would not be allowed to return the office unless I took anger management classes. This is an incredibly disrespectful way to treat a patient. I understand that Astute has sound-sensitive patients and my screaming could be dangerous to them. However, if that means Astute can't treat patients with loud behavioral disorders, meltdowns, or mood swings, THEY NEED TO STOP ACCEPTING PATIENTS WITH LOUD BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS, MELTDOWNS, AND MOOD SWINGS. Banning a patient for a single volume offense without warning is unacceptable, especially since I had clearly demonstrated an understanding of the need to remove myself when necessary. Recommending anger management classes in response to me VOLUNTEERING to remove myself within seconds of getting angry was incredibly insulting. I was honestly left with the impression that Astute's staff had become scared of me as a result of this single meltdown. This is an incredibly shameful position for a therapy provider to be in. I sincerely hope that Astute updates their policy to make it clear WHICH kinds of patients they can treat and which ones they cannot. read more

The 45 min sound bath was amazing. Lisa was great and had me feeling very relaxed. The complimentary tea was unexpected and such a nice touch. Astute has moved locations and is amazing! I have been a patient of Becca's for 5 years now and could not be more grateful. Today was my first day meeting in person post COVID and it was like entering a luxury spa. I have been doing virtual appointments since the beginning of the pandemic. They have every service you can think of and are truly an all around wellness center. Everything from your regular therapy sessions to massage meditation and yoga. You can also pick up some amazing retail items while sipping on a juice from the fabulous juice bar. ( I bought the best smelling eucalyptus candle today) I am going to be switching my remote teleheath appointments to 100% in person so I can take advantage of this Oasis of relaxation. It is such a beautiful space, and I am so excited that I can take advantage of all the new services Astute has to offer. Reaching out to Astute was the best decision I've made in a long time. I was hesitant to go to therapy but am so glad I did! About a year ago, I started having a really hard time with the pandemic, family issues and balance as a working parent. I tried to work it out on my own, but was struggling to do so. I finally reached a breaking point in March and reached out to Astute because it was within walking distance from where I live. I got in touch with Becca who suggested I work with Chelsea. Chelsea and I scheduled our first (online) session the following week. I called my insurance company (BCBS PPO) ahead of time and the online sessions were covered 100%! I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket. My only regret was that I didn't start therapy sooner. Chelsea and I met bi-weekly to talk and she is such a good listener. Matt Marx is a fantastic counselor, listener, and support system. My boyfriend and I saw him when we continuously had difficulty communicating. Writing a review on counseling services is very intimidating because in a sense you feel as if you are disclosing personal information about, what I used to consider, downfalls.
