I wasted four months with Justin Lee and got nowhere. I originally sought help for ADHD symptoms that I've experienced since childhood, but instead of truly listening, he dismissed my concerns and disagreed with my self-assessment. Our meetings were short (15-20 minutes at most) and felt more like a way to bill me rather than provide real support. When the medication he prescribed wasn't working for me, I stopped taking it - but instead of discussing alternative solutions, he threatened to drop me as a client for not informing him first. Rather than working with me to find the right treatment, he made me feel unheard and unsupported. Thankfully, I've since found a real ADHD specialist who actually listens and provides meaningful help--no gimmicks, no pointless conversations, and no pressure. If you're looking for real ADHD care, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. ---- Sent me a bill for 100$ fee after 4 months of no services... with no description of the fee. Sent me ANOTHER bill for 75$ after 5 months of no services... with no description of the fee. Front desk never answer the phone. I experienced discrimination from Dr. Rahman. I had an initial point with Dr. Amera Rahman for medication management after being diagnosed with inattentive presenting ADHD by my normal therapist. The first appointment was canceled the day before. Things happen so I rescheduled for another day. During the initial appointment Dr. Rahman was dismissive when I addressed my concerns regarding ADHD treatment and options. She questioned the competence on my therapist and insisted that I was depressed even though I explicitly expressed that I was not. I had no feelings of depression or anxiety. She offered Wellbutrin and I declined. After a long drive to the Evanston Clarity Clinic location for a face to face appointment she reluctantly prescribed me 10mg of Vyvanse. After a week on the medication and doubling the dosage after a few days as she instructed, I had a follow up appointment were I explained how I hadn't noticed any change or experienced any of the previously mentioned side effects. At this time she responded "well maybe you don't have ADHD", and insisted again that I was suffering from depression or anxiety. She did not listen to me at all and showed a lack of consideration for what I was experiencing. I felt like this was a form of discrimination. I decided to see another psychiatric provider who gave me a formal evaluation that confirmed my original diagnosis. I have noticed a significant positive change since receiving proper medication management. It is unfortunate that Dr. Rahman made a diagnosis based on her personal biases without evaluating me herself or even adjusting medication. read more

My GP recommended Clarity for help with ADHD. During my first appointment I also expressed concern that the meds I had taken for anxiety until a month or 2 prior were causing eczema and hair loss. A winning combo! Elana, who told me they couldn't diagnose me (what? Why are we here?) put me on wellbutrin, an antidepressant commonly used (off-label) for ADHD. It helped the ADHD symptoms but is, according to the NIH, the worst antidepressant when it comes to hair loss. So, I shed bananas amounts of hair for nearly 3 months wondering if it was the result of stress catching up with me (certainly possible) before looking up "wellbutrin and hair loss" to uncover the unfortunate fact she hasn't listened to my concerns at all. PATIENT BEWARE Justin Lee is horrible, and cocky. He starts our session off with saying "I've treated many with your rare condition so trust me i know what i'm doing". Why be egotistical on the FIRST appointment together? His manager defended him accusing me of asking for an immediate prescription when i wasn't. i was just describing the severity of my symptoms to him. His manager deliberately ignored me directly addressing her with questions on the phone, and when i said i was doing an outpatient program and wanted to delegate care, Justin Lee didn't want to collaborate with the medical team taking me in full time since their team wanted to ignore immediacy of my need for care. I have an expletive filled rant but clarity SHOULD NOT HAVE A LICENSE. They overfilled ALL OF MY BENZO PRESCRIPTIONS DURING THE OPIOID CRISIS FROM 2015-2017 WHEN I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THEM NOT TO. I've been seeing Justin Lee since October. He is very tentative when it comes to making sure im feeling 100% while taking the medication he prescribes me. He listens to my concerns as well. I've seen a few therapists due to insurance issues and availability. My only concern would be the front desk staff attitude and the billing department. They don't send out billing statements or receipts when you make a payment. That's the only downside. How are we supposed to know how much we owe if you don't provide information? It would be appreciated, not just a call stating this is going into collections and you won't be able to see the providers. You're dealing with people with mental health issues. Hearing that makes me WORRY MORE about my mental health. Please try to do better in this part! Besides that I've had good experiences with providers. read more

The drs are pretty good. The front desk staff is something else. They tell you something different every time you call them. It takes an act of congress for them to leave or contact a dr. I called on a Saturday and asked to speak to a dr about a problem I was having with meds. I was told that the dr deserves to have a weekend so they will send a message on Monday. read more

I wish I could talk about the therapist or therapy, but the staff did not let me get that far. The night before my appointment, at 7pm, I got a voicemail stating that my paperwork wasn't done, and that it needed to be completed by 8am the following morning, or my 5pm appointment would be cancelled. Keep in mind they asked me to log in to this virtual appointment TWENTY MINUTES EARLY. Why would anyone do that, if not to finish up paperwork? Normally doctors don't care if your paperwork is done before your appointment so long as it's done before you exit. Unless this business formed yesterday, they should be aware of that convention, and inform their new customers if you plan to break with it. Being proactive is part of good customer experience. I never received paperwork. It was only mentioned in passing on reminder emails (Pro tip: Do NOT put NEW information in a REMINDER. See, a reminder is information you already know. Nobody reads a reminder looking for new info, they glance to confirm what their memory says) There was otherwise no mention of paperwork, nor anything even implying it's appointment-cancelling importance. Email is not, and has never been reliable enough to assume all sent items are delivered. You should always confirm, and you should definitely not wait until the end of day, the day before an appointment, to even attempt to confirm the email was received. I searched all folders, spam, trash, nothing. The appointment was made 3-4 weeks in advance, there was plenty of time for them to follow up. TL:DR The staff are lazy, do not highlight important pre-appointment necessities, and will wait until the last minute to follow up. Go elsewhere if you want Mental Healthcare from people who actually care. read more

We discuss everything and everything that's on my mind, and I've learned more about myself and my relationships during our discussions, in about 2 months? than I had ever been aware of--it's never too late to learn why we do and say things and how to change them if they're hurtful or non-productive. Do not use this company. Almost every appointment I have to fight the bill because they file something wrong with the insurance. I'm not talking once or twice. This has happened 6 times and now there was a bill from february I was still trying to get corrected with them. They sent it to collections and it is their fault for not filing properly. read more

Very nasty and aggressive tactics (if you don't do "this" your appointment will be cancelled. If you don't do "that"... CANCELLED.) Hard to get a live person which is unacceptable for a clinic that provides mental health counseling. And I'm not talking about 2AM...I'm talking about calling on a Tuesday around noon and as of 9PM Thursday I haven't gotten a call back. Emails that have included medication instructions have been wrong and I've been asked to refer to new emails. What if the meds had already been distributed incorrectly? The staff is demanding (for no reason)- you don't need to know mom AND dad's license number when you have all the insurance info available. What if mom and dad have medical insurance but don't drive? You can't demand a credit card number. Maybe we don't hold credit cards. All of this with threats of CANCELLATION, CANCELLATION, CANCELLATION!!!! If you need counseling, please reach out and get it... but not here. They seem more concerned about getting billing info correct than medication info correct. Sad state for those who are patients and may not know there are better services out there. read more
