If you're looking for an eye doctor/clinic, look no further! Dr. Nguyen-Wei is super nice and knowledgeable. She takes her time, not rushing you and she's very open to questions. I go to the eye doctor almost once every year, and have gone to a lot of doctors in the past four years -- Dr. Nguyen-Wei is one of the best ones! Also, add Jessica (front desk) to the mix and it's a party at this office! I first chose to go here for my annual eye exam because they accept my insurance and it was close to work, but in so glad I did because Dr. Nguyen-Wei is great and the staff is super accommodating! Dr. Nguyen-Wei is really nice, and she happily answers all my (many) questions. The staff makes sure you get exactly what you want when it comes to choosing frames, and they try to make the process as simple as possible for you. The office is also located in the mall, which is great because I can usually kill two birds with one stone if I need to visit the eye doctor and do a little shopping. ;) I would highly recommend! :) read more

I had a comprehensive eye exam here today and I felt very taken care of. Being incredibly nearsighted (glasses since I was 8!) I've always found eye exams to be a very daunting procedure, but Dr Nguyen was so careful and so knowledgeable, it immediately felt like I was in good hands. I've seen three or four eye doctors over the course of my life and Dr Nguyen, of all of them, seemed the most genuinely caring for the health of my eyes. She took her time and really "fine tuned" the prescription for my eyes. She was open to questions, answered them well, and made some great recommendations for the future. I original went to Clarity Vision just because they were the closest Optometrist to where I live, I'm sure glad that I did. The glasses that I got are the best pair that I have had since needing progressive lens. I unfortunately went to Kaiser before then which was a nightmare of choosing from different price ranges of different lenses only to get a pair of glasses that I couldn't see with very well. Dr. Nguyen-Wei uses top of the line Varilux lenses. I loved my first pair so much that I went back a year later for an eye exam and got another pair for back up even though my vision hadn't changed. Dr. Nguyen-Wei and her staff are very pleasant and I would recommend Clarity Vision to anyone. read more

Brand new operation. Tiny place. Super friendly and efficient. Dr. Nguyen-Wei is very good and professional. Only downside is the lack of frame options, at least when I went. Way better than my old Optometrist. Dr. Linda Nguyen-Wei is nice, thorough, and most of all HELPFUL. We talked for a while about my current contacts and some best practices for daily wear. She even told me about the special laser etching in my contacts that are used to properly position the contacts in your eye. I've been wearing this brand of contacts for 13 years, and none of my Optometrists have told me that! The woman who works the front desk is awesome as well. Didn't pressure me at all to buy a year supply of contacts or a pair of glasses. She was knowledgeable about my insurance as well. I'll definitely be coming back next year! read more

I missed the 3 month cut off to use a prior eye exam to grab contacts - by two weeks and they were going to charge a non-insured price of $180.00. I understand the concern that my eyes might have changed - but I missed it by two weeks - this is a price gauge and never coming back to this establishment again. read more

It's pretty sad to lose your 20/20 vision but I'm glad that I found a friendly and reliable optometrist that I can trust with my eyes. I called to make an appointment for an eye exam and was scheduled in the same week. I was pretty nervous, since the last time I had my eyes checked was about 15 years ago. I didn't know what to expect but the staff made me feel really comfortable as soon as I walked in. Dr. Linda was very informative and resourceful. She helped me through my exam and walked me through the wide selection of glasses. I'm happy to say that I can see clearly again, in style. I can't say enough great things about this place. The optical area is fun (although a little small) and they carry frames for everybody: hipster, trendsetter, geek (a cool one of course), and people that don't like to wear glasses. I wasn't sure what frame I wanted and Dr Linda Nguyen-Wei asked if she can pull out some frames that I might like. And I should hate her because now I want to get all the frames she pulled. During the exam she was so thorough and explained everything as she went along. My eyes were irritating me off and on for years and I just thought it was normal. She was able to diagnose the problem, treat it and now my eyes feel so much better. I send all my coworkers, friends and family to her because I know they will be in great hands. read more

Dr. Nguyen-Wei is fantastic. She is friendly and incredibly knowledgable. She recommended a different size contact lens that is more comfortable and also figured out that my end-of-day blurred vision was due to dry eyes (something other optometrists could not figure out). A simple change of contact lens solution solves the second issue. Awesome. read more

I've been coming here for my annual eye exam for 5 years now. The front desk staff is always friendly, appointments always start on time (which is a huge help when coming in the middle of a workday), and they have hours late into the evenings on at least one weekday in case you can't take time out of the middle of your workday. Another convenience is that you can set up an appointment through their website, and an assistant always calls to confirm. Once you enter, the assistant hands you the paperwork, if any. Then she walks you through three different machines that take various measurements about eye pressure, peripheral vision, and focal point, if I remember correctly. When it's Dr. Nguyen's turn to see you, the tests are very quick and efficient. Another machine is used to check your current glasses to see how they compare to what you need. She is patient and friendly, and always somehow seems to remember a detail of your life from the previous year and asks you about it. The new location on Sutter is bright and spacious. Although you have to walk through the chaos of Union Square to get to it, inside it is calm and filled with natural light. They have a decent selection of eyeglasses from several designer brands as well. read more

I've had the same prescription for 6 years, and have gone to countless doctors in 4 different states and Dr. Nguyen is the first one to take the time to realize that I can be filed as medically necessary saving me $900 a year in contacts lenses and exam costs!!! There was even one year where I had a different insurance and had to go somewhere else and it was a huge headache trying to explain that I was medically necessary and helping them figure it out. I recently called back trying to schedule a glasses exam but she said that I already had one 5 months ago and could use that prescription. Most doctor's offices would just have you come back in and do another exam if your insurance year restarted. She's honest and won't waste your time even if it's more money for her. That alone makes me a customer forever! The lady at the front desk was also super helpful in remembering to get my prescription signed and emailed to me as soon as Dr. Nguyen was back in the office without me having to call and remind her. I've gone here for 4 years in a row and have always been very pleased with the staff and Dr. Nguyen-Wei. She takes good notes and offers a good personal touch (like remembering I got married, went to Cal, etc.). This most recent appointment, my glasses were broken and rather than have me buy new lenses, they checked on the warranty and got the rim and frames replaced for FREE.
