Another place did the same job for less than half what these guys quoted me. I just have a bone to pick about one of their charges - a battery load test. I was told over the phone that it would cost $35 since I chose not to go with them for the actual repairs. I got there to pay, and the person at the desk tells me the total is $48. I tell him I was told over the phone that it would be $35, and the guy says "nothing I can do about taxes". HUH??? What kind of tax is that?? That's like almost a 40 percent "tax". I probably wouldn't have even left a review if not for that. I am simply baffled. Even if I misheard it and it was stated to me as $39 or something, that's still a wild amount for a tax. If someone can point me to whatever legal codes they're apparently referencing, I would love to see them.

It was great to not be pressured to be told we needed immediate and expensive repairs. We have had this experience at other mechanic shops. We had a very favorable experience and ended up spending right around $3000 for the repair. But it was well worth it some thing our Mechanic son wasn't willing to take on. We've since recommended this business to other friends and family, and none have reported back with any negative experiences. It's also nice that this is not a chain, but a small Vancouver business.
