One man's opinion says she should be in upper management and training others. Colleen did this as single individual in a very large organization and she moved a freekin mountain on her own!!! I retract everything negative I have said based on her personal and lone actions - thank you!! SSA - you have a winner on your team-

Not going to lie, visiting one's Social Security office can be a bit of a hair raising experience…read more Lots of people, security at the door, tense, confusing, paperwork ridden, exhausting. It is what it is. Toshima at the front when I first walk in made my two visits to the SS here on Buffalo a 4-star experience. Having to go twice on behalf of a family member and sorting out their mountainous pile of medical paperwork to properly file SSDI for them, I am already overwhelmed before I even walk thru the door. But when I do, Toshima is at the first window kind of hollering at folks walking in and asking "do you have an appointment?" He is a super nice guy, you can just tell, despite him hollering at you thru the plastic partition from behind his desk. He is quick to help and offer advice without attitude or tone. Clearly there is a lot of reason for an employee at an SS office to be short tempered or at the end of their rope, but Toshima is real, measured, human. In the sea of confusion surrounding all that I was addressing, Toshima was clearly knowledgeable, experienced, trying to move my process along and doing what he can to make sure I have everything in order that they requested, thus why I was there to begin with. He interacted with me in a way that made the SS office seem "human" if that makes sense. He does not want you to waste your time or their time. He might be a unicorn in the whole experience, but again, he is worthy of making my experience a 4-star event. So yeah, my first Yelp review of a Social Security office and hopefully my last, but Toshima warrants a shout out in exceeding my expectations that were super low prior to walking in.

Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority - They really don't care about the tenants. There only concern is worrying about what tenants have in their refrigerators. Illegal inspections

I have concerns about the blessed people on the program degrading those people that help put a roof over your head. Whoever put the pic of the prophylactic needs to get a grip on life. That was terrible that you felt the need to go that far. I worked since I was 14 yrs. old, I am in my 60's now and still can't afford a decent home. I'm homeless without section 8. Hey Mike G., I am sorry that section 8 people are not up to your standards.

But…read morethey don't monitor the tenants about how they treat their units and if they are a good decent neighbor. I am a property manager and have not worked with them for many years as every time I had a bad experience. But this time the tenant was referred by HUD VASH and I thought would be different. They do once a year inspection and if there is something wrong which is the tenant's fault, SNRHA asks the landlord to fix it and charge the tenant otherwise they suspend the rent. How can you collect rent from a tenant who does not have money? I had a case recently; the tenants did not pay the portion of the rent. They were fighting all the time, police were called about 9 times only this year and I have the reports of them. Neighbors were complaining. HOA gave me two Courtesy Notices; the third one would be a fine. One of the neighbors found the case worker's contact info and called and complained but the case worker was not even nice to the neighbor. I evicted the tenants, for non-rent payment, damage to the property and not paying for the repairs and nuisance which all cost money. I just paid over $4000 just for materials for a one-bedroom condo. None of the appliances worked. The dishwasher Spray Arm is sitting on the counter top. Washer does not have any inside part, microwave, range/oven, disposal, nothing worked, , toilet (yes toilet, they were using a bucket) took us 4 gallons of bleach and 9 cans of air fresher to get rid of the odor. Hole in the walls and doors. They were locked out by the constable. When they made appointment to take their belongings, they even took all the light bulbs (wow). Anyway, after they left, I contacted SNRHA by phone and left messages a few times, no response. I emailed their case worker and she has been ignoring me, no response. I know, they don't pay or even care for what their tenants do to the properties. I only wanted to report it for SNRHA not to support these people so they don't do the same to another landlord. But still no response.
