When our pipes froze during the big storm this January (thankfully, without water in them), we decided to hire Plumbums again. That didn't go as well. Quality of work: The fixes Jim suggested (a series of individual junction fixes) seemed reasonable for the repairs needed, but in some cases replacing whole sections would have been more time- and cost-efficient (according to other plumbers we've had in our home who have seen the work done). And we needed four return visits within our first three days living in the house to address issues that had not been resolved or that popped up as soon as we turned systems on. One problem (heat running constantly on our first floor, making the house over 80 degrees in the winter) was unresolved until I researched possible causes myself and communicated that to Jim, who sent out one of his guys to implement the fix. Professionalism: We were frustrated by the lack of care shown toward our property. Jim's guys left plumbing debris (not just the stuff our homeowner's insurance requested, but just straight-up trash), food trash, and drywall dust in our basement and living areas. This means that the first thing we had to do after driving 3,200 miles to move in was clean up after them. Drywall was removed roughly in several locations, and although patching was not included in the estimate, the cuts themselves appeared unnecessarily sloppy (and our new plumber neatly cuts and replaces drywall as a matter of course, leaving the mudding to us, which is fine). Plumbums did work well with our insurance company to get our claim handled, and ultimately we have working plumbing. But our experience wasn't great.

We can't say enough about the quality of their work, their quick responses and prices that seem fair (and quoted up front without hidden fees) if not exactly inexpensive. Then again, who wants cheap shoddy work? We needed work on an outside hose connection, and we got Cory who was not just knowledgeable and thorough but who was also a really nice, informed and entertaining man. All on the plus side. We again have no hesitation about calling Macary for any of our plumbing needs, and we recommend their services. Really.

Worse plumber ever. Made up lies about me because I told the truth. First of all he was late &…read moredidn't have courtesy to call. Every area he worked in was cleaned & cleared special for him to work. Ge flooded & damaged kitchen.There were no doggie pee pads or anything in his way. There was a new package of dog supplies near the front door, NEW nothing dirty. He is lying about 3 other plumbers coming. Absolute lie. I received several quotes but only had him come & now have to hire a good, honest, person to clean up his mess. I had a plumbing leak on second floor& things are tore up which i explained thing ls were a mess. Nothing was in his way to perform work. It is not garbage but boxes of things needing moved as upper floor & ceiling is tore up for major leak repairs. We are also downsizing & many boxes are going to goodwill. I explained all this to him. Just because he's a terrible businessman that can't be on time,lied about having parts & did poor repairs is no reason to act vindictive like a 2 year old & try to besmerch me. His attack proves he lacks temperament to provide service to his customers. What I showed him extra was additional work I would need after leak & damage is repaired. It only took a couple minutes & it would have been future work for him had he been any good. I got very little for what I paid. He didn't bring or replace part I called about. He didn't even have a bank account to send money to. What kind of business has no bank account? He did seem desperate for work having to come so far out of his area for work & not having dependable transportation. A simple call back from him could have resolved issues but that was too much to expect due to his character. Maybe he'll learn & mature by his mistakes so he builds a reputable business.

Does not pull a permit for inspection with the city and when I went to sell my house they claimed…read morethey would do it and they did not. They actually lied that they did contact the city. They stopped answering our calls and we had to go to the city to see if an inspection was scheduled. It was not so they blatantly lied and I had to pay an independent contracted to inspect the system to be able to sell my house.

Chase Mechanical installed my new bathtub incorrectly and with the wrong trim finish (Later, Chase…read moredemanded I pay an extra $150 for labor to install the correct trim even though I did not make the ordering mistake). Weeks passed with no contact or effort to resolve other issues with their work. Later, I was told, "I forgot about you for a few weeks." When I was finally contacted, I received a text message asking that the remaining balance, which amounted to less than 25% of the total bill, be paid. I responded that I would settle with them WHEN ALL of the work was done. The plumber complained to the general contractor and, subsequently, I received a phone call from him blasting me that I was "holding the [plumber's] money "hostage!" After the final issues were addressed, I ended up paying Chase's price PLUS $75 for someone else's ordering mistake (just to show good faith). Regarding this company and my experience, I would have to say that I would NOT hire them again due to a consistent lack of communication from beginning to end on the job (billing, job specs, etc.), not handling issues in a timely manner, displaying a "blame the customer" first attitude when issues arose, etc. Tim Bristol, CT
