The doctor stressed the importance of wearing contacts to see if you are comfortable with that scenario. I had worn them for years with no problems. Even though I hadn't worn contacts for quite awhile, I was confident they would work for me. He was able to Lazer some of the astigmatism in my eye for Distance which has given me the ability to read, drive and function without glasses which I had all my life. Had dry eyes for a short time after surgery but that improved quite quickly. I would recommend trying the contacts and see if you like them. I know this type of surgery is more than Medicare will cover but the results are worth the added expense No regrets even if I still needed glasses after surgery for driving. Would also like to commend the staff for their attention to detail and explaining all the options and costs.

I appreciate that he talks through everything with you and allows you to be a part of the decision making process regarding your own health. Today I brought my teenage daughter in for her second visit. She now requires glasses so we went through our first experience selecting them here. I know that we could have taken her prescription elsewhere for a little less money but you can't beat the service that the staff gives here. Dr. Schulte diagnosed my son with accommodative dysfunction and recommended vision therapy. After calling the recommended vision therapy places, I was discouraged to find out the service cost was unaffordable and out of pocket only. After research, I discovered Corewell Vision Clinic. I was able to obtain the vision therapy there with the script written by Dr. Schulte and covered by insurance. Several weeks into therapy, the vision OT informed me that Dr. Schulte was not responding to the vision therapy evaluations being sent to her, thus they were unable to bill insurance. Both the vision OT and supervisor tried calling her office to speak to her and she refused. She also refused to sign the evaluations so my son's therapy was disrupted. Fortunately, after speaking with my son's pediatrician, he agreed to oversea the rehab until I was able to get in to see an ophthalmologist affiliated with Corewell. I am livid! Completely unprofessional and in my opinion unethical. I will not continue as a patient there. I will never recommend this place of business. It is unfortunate because the staff, including the other optometrist have been wonderful. I cannot say the same about Dr. Schulte!

And it has happened to me 4 times in the last year as I deal with my sudden illness. I am 64 and since Covid, unemployed and not by choice or lack of applying, but money is tight! I am disabled and just wanted my eyes checked out. I went to Wilkinson because I had gone to him many years ago and enjoyed the experience, but apparently it is now just another greedy, self-serving, corporate entity. They said the entire visit and exam would be $130 which I saved up and then went to an appointment with a Dr. St. Louis (great last name, right and a nice lady) partway through the exam she ushered me into an adjacent waiting room with no explanation or direction...after the other five patients in the room were taken back down a hallway, I was finally ushered into a small room where there was an obvious ocular camera/computer which I thought was just part of the exam (since I had not been told any different, or anything at all) Doogie Howser proceeded to take not one, not three, but 12 blinding light pictures of each of my eyes. This made it very clear to me that he was not as familiar, or trained, as he should have been on that particular equipment. The exam then concluded back with Dr. St. Louis, and as I exited I paid the $130 as stated and went stumblingly on my way. One week later, I received a bill in the mail requiring ANOTHER $106 payment for the pictures! Obviously it was a new toy at the clinic which they wanted to pay off ASAP so everyone has to get the pictures done during their exam!! But with no notice, discussion, or debate on the patient side, it was MISLEADING, fraudulent, and a terrible business plan seeking only profit with no regard for actual patient service or satisfaction! But then to COWARDLY send the bill I didn't know about in the mail! Don't bother trying to call and get their accounting dept. it is behind the cowardly phone mail system. Pleaser just let us know the total charge when we ask! The AMA has already gotten this complaint, but unless we boycott this type of predatory billing they will continue to pillage us, our insurance, medicare and savings to line their own pockets.

The Union Station legendary ribs were so/so but this store was a hit for me. There is a wide variety of items to peruse with many unique items in both the upstairs and on the main floor. I came to browse and burn time till the restaurant opened and was pleasantly surprised with a must-have find. I couldn't walk away from a beautiful leather cross-bag. The pony hair was so soft and the colors were gorgeous. With tax, I forked over $200.00; expensive, you bet! Worth it for the find; you bet! The cashier was pleasant and knowledgeable of all the items in the store. I'll be back to spend more time to carefully look at the fun selections such as clothes, jewelry and soaps.
