Was this worth the hour and 15 minutes drive? - Absolutely! I chose to drive over an hour to Grand Blanc Eyes for a few reasons: 1. I have major anxiety when it comes to the eye doctor and the doctors I have been going to just increase that feeling. (This started when I was 8 and a doctor put plugs in my tear ducts.) 2. I trusted Dr. Matt Agnone to give me the best care possible! 3. I felt that his office would set an environment for a calming experience. I was not wrong in any of this! Even with an extremely busy office, I was greeted right away and even with masks you could tell the front desk was all smiles. When I was brought back to start my exam, I explained how anxious I was and can become. The staff continued to make sure I felt comfortable, fully explaining each process and having genuine conversations with me throughout, calming my anxieties. It was as if I had been a patient of this clinic for years! Dr. Agnone is genuinely interested in making sure you have the best eye care, but also made sure to keep the setting free from anxiety. He explained each process, making sure to stop and ask if I had any questions or needed any explanation. During new processes, such as the pictures of my eyes, he made sure to explain what the pictures actually showed, rather than the usual, "this is your eye and this is what I'm looking for" type of responses I normally got from doctors. I actually got explanations of what was being done, what I was looking at such as the functionality, why I was being shown these pictures, and why I've had the pictures done. He was professional, honest, and straight forward about everything. It wasn't about "the money" at this office. The office then fixed my glasses, even though I hadn't ordered them there. Dr. Agnone is not only an amazing doctor, but a genuine person that truly loves what he is doing and is passionate about helping people! Honestly, the best place you could be! So was this worth the hour and 15 minutes? I'd recommend everyone drive this length of time for this type of care! read more

At my recent visit, I was informed of a bunch of things I had not been informed of in any yearly visit. For example, the doctor I saw taught me about the things she was doing before even doing them and every time I had a question she stopped what she was doing and explained in a way I would understand. If I didn't understand, she tried to find a way for me to understand. There was a minor issue with the inside of my eye, but instead of pushing that issue to the back burner and not worry about it, the doctor decided it was best to cover all of the basis and do necessary tests to see if there was anything alarming. Finally, I had a problem last year with not receiving labels on my contacts (R or L) and I mentioned that at this visit and it was corrected immediately. I was extremely happy at this visit, especially since I got in before my appointment time and got out in a reasonable amount of time. I switched to Grand Blanc Eyes about 3 years ago. I went to another Eye Dr. Practice in Grand Blanc for many years before I just needed to change because I didn't feel the care there was meeting my needs. They really focused on selling, selling, selling and less about the health of my Eyes. From the first visit to Grand Blanc Eye's it was a completely different atmosphere! I feel the health of my Eyes is first priority! The Dr's take their time to explain well to me any and all findings! Dr Ann Walker saw things about my Eye health that was never discovered or brought to my attention from the other Practice. She is retired and I'll miss her. I saw her Son once and he is very good as well. I saw Dr. Bayliss this visit and she is awesome as well! Dr. Alarie and every other staff member I interacted with during my appointment here was wonderful! They were so caring and kind, while also very thorough. Dr. Alarie found some issues going on with my eyes due to diabetes and tried to calm my panic while still being honest and helping me understand what was going on. She referred me to a retinal specialist and the front desk staff called the specialist and got me an appt with them before I even left the office. In addition, when I called to ask about a new development with my eyes a couple of days later, the receptionist immediately found Dr. Alarie and the Dr got on the phone with me personally which I really appreciated. She also got me into the specialist earlier than my already made appt. All around wonderful experience. read more

Dr. Alarie is amazing! I have a tricky prescription, and once I moved far enough away that a different doctor seemed like a good option. After migraines as a result of my incorrect prescription, I came back to Dr. A and Grand Blanc Eyes. Not only did I get a better view on life, I also got a much more comprehensive selection of glasses frames, along with staff that gave me excellent advice about the proper fit for the glasses I was trying. The last time I looked for frames there, I had to choose between five "perfect" frames. You'll see why I have such a great view of Grand Blanc Eyes if you go there. read more

I had a great experience. Dr. Matthew's passion for giving his patients the best vision is admirable. I like that if you want more information he is an open book and doesn't mind having a conversation if you are anxious about something. For someone who didn't change their eye doctor for 20 years I am very pleased. There were a little understaffed but isn't ever here right now? I appreciated the care they took even though they were busy! They are great, so of course they were busy! I would recommend good insurance when coming here because everything is very high end! I have never met an eye doctor with the intellect that Dr. Matthew Agnone has. I am a complicated Leukemia patient in need of scleral lenses and he went above and beyond from the moment he walked into the appointment to ensure I had a clear picture of the issue and potential options to resolve my eye conditions. He takes all the time a patient needs, goes in depth but is easy to understand and is simply the best. The front desk staff was absolutely amazing as well. I will never go anywhere else. This is a very friendly family like atmosphere you are made quite early on the moment you walk in the door you are not just another number but a person. My young adult son found this place online and then I brought in my daughter and myself. I Go every year to get my eyes checked at another place and was told By Dr A.
