Came here on a Sunday for breakfast and had a decent time! The place was pretty quiet and there were only a few other occupied tables which made service pretty fast. The space was diner-esque and felt relatively clean which overall was nice. Our orders were taken pretty quickly and the food was out in a reasonable time as well. Prices were a bit steep honestly for the price, but quality was decent. I enjoyed the pancakes the most - good size and fluffy. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back again for brunch. Parking is ample and there's almost always a table available. Cash only, ATM is inside. I order the Denver omelette with cheddar and it's generous on the fillings without overwhelming the egg ratio. It's about the size of half the plate. Home fries are pretty good. Coffee is diner coffee. They also make a great tuna melt with perfectly buttered/griddled bread if you're in the mood for lunch. Then I pay $3 extra to use their atm machine, I get the money and go to sit back down thinking the waitress will pick up the cash and the guy jumps to take the money at the register. Decent Irish breakfast, two eggs, black and white sausage, regular sausage, a rasher of ham, baked beans, but no grilled tomato. I'd get it again. Very quick service on this Monday morning at 8 am with very few customers in the restaurant yet. They didn't have the soda bread usually standard in most restaurants with the Irish, but I never get that anyway, opting for something more interesting and tastier. Toast choice here was limited to white and wheat, and not even a very good wheat bread. Overall a decent small breakfast place. Already had my coffee this morning so I didn't try theirs. Bland, plain, boring. The wraps 6.50+ come with a small snack size bag of lays chips. No choice of bread when you order sandwiches, so you get what you get and you don't get upset type of deal. Order was wrong, they apologized, but I do like if they get it wrong, to take something off, or offer a free cookie or something? Other just small tip for the place. My kids got to hear about shootings, murder, and teenage abductions during lunch. Change the channel. I don't think you need to have Nick on, but a lot of people try and not have their younger kids listen to news reports about murders and terrorist attacks. Also, don't charge 2.50 for a kids drink. I ordered delivery/take out from here & was pretty excited for a full Irish Breakfast. I noticed a muffin in the bag & was confused -- I didn't order one. There was a note, "sorry no beans -- I will make it up to you next time" Now. This was the sweetest thing I've ever encountered & honestly the food was DELICIOUS & I didn't even need the muffin they so kindly included -- the note & sentiment was so beyond any expectation. Visiting from NY, staying in Boston and planning to have lunch with a friend who lives in Bedford...I figured Medford was about equidistant. I searched for diners and found Classic Cafe. It has an interesting location in a residential area. The waitress Mimi was friendly and delightful. At 1:30 pm the restaurant was not crowded and my friend and I were able to chat without interruption and enjoy our lunch. I had an egg sandwich on a croissant. Delicious! When I asked for a substitution for the home fries, Mimi suggested fresh fruit. I expected a few pieces of orange or melon. Instead I was served a very large bowl with fresh blueberries, strawberries, bananas, apples, and peaches as well as melon and orange slices. Classic Cafe is much better than a typical diner! Looking forward to going back there when I next visit Boston. read more
