This theater is on point. Totally remodeled. The seats are amazing. My husband gets so comfy he snoozes for a little while. This place is CLEAN. Thank you. They have a good crew working here. Polite, respectful and service oriented. The theater lay outs are great. As a senior pitched floors and steps are obstacles. But I have NO problem navigating any of theaters here. Enjoyed going to the movies at this great local theatre. Seats were very large, comfortable, and had heat controls. Super nice walkable area close to restaurants, cafes, breakfast places, and a brewery. Loved the details in the historic building. Washrooms could use some attention, but not a deal breaker. read more

Absolutely Gorgeous. I LOVE this modern but a blast from the past design . It's absolutely lovely. So well done. The lit Movie Displays. The simplicity of the concessions. It's so not complicated and really just makes it a relaxed start. Clean and organized well. Friendly staff. The signs are done well and guide you through the theatre . The auditoriums themselves -gorgeous. Tastefully art deco designs - the comfy recliners are awesome . The new movie "Hail Mary"- was so fantastic - I highly recommend that as well. Science focused. Heartfelt movie. Family friendly. This was a fabulous experience. I needed a break and this was such a treat. Thank you and I recommend them, Classic Cinemas. This is in a really great area with lots to see and metra train nearby. If you are coming from downtown or another area. Lagrange Road has a lot to see . Great theatre. We came here to watch Twisters last Wed night. It's $11.50 per adult after 6 pm. If you buy online, there is a $1.50 booking fee then a 50 cent local tax per person. People exaggerate about the fees but honestly if you can't afford the extra $2 then you should stay home. There's a booking fee at other theaters if you buy online. You can find plenty of parking on the street and at the garage across the street. It's free. For food, you have multiple options in the downtown area. The theater itself was nice and you see employees cleaning. The bathrooms could use extra care. I believe the theater recently did a renovation. When we walked into our movie, all of the recliner seats were new and comfortable. There are settings to recline as well as a heat setting. Overall, I would come back here. read more

Hey fellow Yelp users! I went to Classic Cinemas La Grange Theatre on 7/02/24 (Tuesday) as part of a family outting. We saw Inside Out 2. By the way, let me start off by saying that they have $6 Tuesdays, so if you want to go to movies and on a budget, I highly recommend going on Tuesdays if you can. They're also currently doing $2 movie days on certain Wednesdays at 10 am for the summer, where they have a variety of animated movies playing. Food: We ended up getting 2 medium sized popcorns. I'm not a popcorn person, but I just feel like popcorn at a movie theater hits different compared to the microwaveable ones you can make at home. Based on the prices, I would say it's more affordable than other theaters like AMC or Regal. Any size popcorn or drinks are FREE refills. Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere. All the theaters offered reclining seating and it felt so nice. The reclining seats also offered a heater/cooler type of feature for your seat. They have art work around the movie theater of old school Hollywood actors and it was giving old school theater vibes. Customer Service: I really enjoyed the customer service. We actually ended up showing late to the time the movie started (1 pm showtime). I believe we had about 30 minutes to an hour left of the movie. I felt super bad, but traffic was really bad during the afternoon for some reason. My boyfriend ended up asking this nice gentleman who was wearing a blue & white stripped button up. I can only assume that he was the manager of this theater. He was extremely accommodating to us and ended up getting us tickets for a later time that day (2:30 pm showtime). This absolutely made my day as I have been really wanting to watch this movie. Thank you so much & I appreciate you for understanding!!! This man deserves a raise pronto! Movie: The movie we watched was Inside Out 2. Unfortunately, I have yet to seen the first Inside Out movie, so I didn't really have or set up any expectations for the movie. I thought the movie was very wonderful. New emotions got introduced since Riley is growing up and becoming a teenager. They also have a post-credit scene which by the way is absolutely hilarious although you do have to wait until after all the credits are done. I think it's safe to say that Disney is infamous for doing post-credit scenes after a movie (after all the credits of course lol ). Overall Experience: Overall, I had a great experience with my 2nd visit at this Classic Cinemas location. The food, atmosphere, & service was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend this movie theater to anyone. There are also lots of spots to eat at near the theater in case you want to grab something to eat before or after you watch a movie. Comfy theater that shows new and currently released movies. Staff at the refreshment stand was helpful. The usual candy and pop offerings are available. Popcorn was fresh. Prices were not horrendous. There are quite a few screens, and the theaters feature recliners with heat to ensure viewer comfort. It was clean in there, and staff checked for messes after the movie was done. Free parking is available in the LaGrange Municipal Lot, about a block away. read more

This theater has been in this community for a very long time. It has been nicely remodeled and soon to be expanding to show you new and currently released movies. Came here on a discounted Tuesday night for $5, but other nights tickets are still very reasonably priced. You definitely feel like you are walking into an old school movie theater with the decor. Concession prices are reasonable and has your basic popcorn, nachos, candy, soda, ICEE, and a few alcoholic beverages. Theater seats all still intact and very well kept. They recline and even have heated seats for those that like to have it a little bit toasty. Staff does a great job keeping the theater nice and clean. There is street parking, a parking lot about a half a block down, or a parking garage across the street. It's a great place to spend a night or day watching a movie and then walking around the downtown area. read more

Just got home from a 5pm movie. The theater is clean and well lit. The seats are comfortable newer recliners. The floors were clean and they were doing their best to keep up with the snow being tracked in that was leaving puddles on the floor. We were there a few hours and there was not a time when I did not see an employee sweeping the floor, mopping or wiping aomething down. The manager was cleaning every time I saw him. The concessions were a good value since you get refills. The cashier at concessions was friendly, pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend this theater for the good value, hospitality and experience. read more

This used to be a good option for teens. My son and his girlfriend (14/15) tried to go see a movie last night and were turned away. This is a family oriented community and the theater took a million dollars of taxpayer money and then turns away our teens. Kick out the unruly ones if you have to but don't unilaterally discriminate against all teens. read more

All positive comments I could otherwise provide are completely undercut by the sheer degree of unprofessionalism displayed by the workers - in particular the manager on shift when we visited. Of course, staff members will not always be personal fans of whatever is being shown on a given day. However, when almost all the workers on shift are spending 10 minutes standing in a circle loudly making fun of a movie you paid money to see, it completely ruins the experience. Feel how you feel, like what you like, but standing at the front of the theater loudly mocking a show and those who went to see it is completely unprofessional. I can understand teenage employees behaving this way, but when the primary ridiculer is an adult manager, I don't have any grace to give. read more

Really disappointed in Classic Cinemas La Grange. Purchased tickets for my 15-year old to take his girlfriend to see Moana 2, Classic refused to let them see the movie due to a new management policy. I'm glad I read the other review about $5 Tuesday night movies, that might be my new go to! I really like that this theater offered a movie that was almost not offered at most theaters any longer (where the crawdads sing). I took forever to see it, so I appreciated that they had it! It was offered in a smaller theater (or maybe they are all like that?) but it was perfect! The seats were great, they reclined and were very comfortable. Snack pricing was reasonable and they had free refills. Staff was fast at servicing and friendly. There is a large parking lot in back and if that's full there's one behind that. Buying online forces A HUGE FEE and you're not told about the fee until after you purchase tickets. Definitely a minus! Even fee for rewards members. The employees selling you snacks do NOT ask for your card, so you need to remember it for each purchase. But seats are comfy and theater clean. read more

This is no longer the old LaGrange Theatre, the renovation into Classic Cinema is fantastic. Heated recliners, screen super clear, sound was great and venue very clean. I was so impressed I asked to speak to the manager (Bob) to let him know. He was super nice and told me about their reward program thats free to earn points towards tickets and concessions. EDIT 4/23/23: The theater management reached out to me and provided several movie passes for my trouble. This was a kind gesture. When I complained here, I was not looking for free movie passes but was simply trying to be heard. Thank you. Original: Very disappointed. Came to this Classic Cinemas theater today to see Dungeons and Dragons. As soon as the commercials started, everyone gasped because it was WAY too loud. We heard several people whispering about it. I asked the manager to turn it down. They said they would look into it. Then my husband went out and asked them, they said sorry, that's how it is, try sitting further back. Well there were no seats further back, and even so, the whole theater wanted it lower. They ignored us. I'm not going to go deaf for the sake of a movie. We requested a refund and left 10 minutes into the movie. Unfortunately, since we bought tickets on Fandango, we'll have to request a refund separately from the platform. One star because at least the seat are comfortable. read more

I've probably been here a half dozen times through the years and I've always enjoyed this adorable little neighborhood theater right in the downtown of La Grange. The location is super ideal as it's surrounded by excellent restaurants like Prasino, Anderson's Bookstore is a block or two away, and two options for frozen yogurt right across the street. Great date night spot. Loads of parking on the street or nearby lots. They also run unique films, not just the latest blockbusters. read more

I came here for the first time in over 10 years. Very impressed with the recent updates. The new recliner heated seats are very comfortable. The picture quality and sound are very good. The only complaint I have is the sound proofing in the theater. There were times during the movie that you can hear the loud bass from the theater room next to you. My husband and I really like this theatre. It's close to home and in a great location with lots of restaurants nearby for pre-movie dining. However, they need to pay more attention to cleanliness. We were there tonight and literally every garbage can was overflowing when we got there. They were even worse when we left after our movie. The drink staton was disgusting with drinks and ice spilled everywhere. A huge pile of popcorn was also spilled on the floor near the drink station and they just put up a warning easel near it. CLEAN IT UP!! The women''s bathroom was a mess. I like this theatre and want to support their business but the lack of cleanliness will make me stop going if they don't do something about it. read more

We went to the "New" La Grange Theater last night and liked it so much we're heading there again tonight. Too hot to do anything else. The seats are great, they recline nicely. Won't be trying the heat in them any time soon. I'd give it 5 stars except the Popcorn, (which is so important for the movie experience) is incredibly salty. Almost to the point of being inedible. Notice I said almost, popcorn is like pizza, even bad is good. Really a shame though. Check out Tuesday $5.00 movie night. Of coarse once the fees are all tacked on that isn't such a bargain but what are you going to do. It's all taxes and we're getting used to be being taxed to death by now. Overall a very nice experience. The owner of the La Grange Theater reached out to me very quickly after my review. She said they were checking into the "salt" issue. Do not go to Classic Cinema in Lagrange on $5 Tuesday & expect to pay $5. It will be $.50 more because Lagrange has to get a piece of the pie/entertainment tax. Other Classic Cinemas, i.e. Lake in Oak Park & York in Elmhurst do not do this. Another reason to boycott Lagrange businesses! Why don't other Classic cinemas charge extra fees? read more

We came here after dinner for a date night because it was close and in walkable distance from our apartment. What a nice little theater! The movies they were showing weren't brand new to the box office, but they were all relatively new (a few months old) and the prices reflect that. Still, they were new to us and for $6.50 a ticket for a Saturday night, I feel like that was a really fair price. Concessions are more affordable than big chain movie theaters, too. The theaters themselves are old school - no stadium seating here - and our row was a little haphazard (my seat was tilting to the right because the floor was uneven) but it was comfortable enough and clean. We will definitely be back. This is a great place to go for a date night or to bring your family because it won't break the bank but still feels like a nice night out! read more

Beautiful vintage building housing 6 screens with the most comfortable reclining chairs with heated seats and cup holders. The popcorn is excellent and the theatre offers free refills. The staff is courteous, the theater is always clean and there are original vintage accents. They show first run movies for reasonable prices and are within walking distance of a variety of delicious restaurants, pubs, cold treats, coffee shops, local retail shops and a parking garage. read more

Nostalgia at it's best. Sure, I haven't been here since I was a teenager and tickets were around $2 or $3, but the vibe is still the same. Just with renovations and increased ticket prices. My children and I were invited to a special AM screening, which was a totally cool experience. We all trudged in for a 09:30 show. It was nice, because I do believe my acquaintance had booked the one theatre and this was the only one open just for us. The booking included free refillable popcorn and drinks for the kiddies. Good enough for me, as no whining about popcorn was encountered. Although the popcorn definitely wasn't the most fresh or tasty, my children didn't know any better. We all viewed the original Wreck it Ralph in a clean theatre(1) that didn't have gross things on the floor, as other people had previously mentioned. The movie intrigued all of us and I cannot wait to see Wreck it Ralph 2! Overall, an enjoyable experience. I only wish something was done about those washrooms....packing in like sardines into a 2 by 2 toilet area so that my child can use the washroom was super gross. Yet, I'll probably be back since I had forgotten how close we live to this specific theatre. read more
