We booked a vacation to Hawaii last year, using a travel agent that is affiliated with Classic Vacations. A few months prior to the vacation, we cancelled our vacation plans due to illness. Although the travel agent was great with our cancellation plans and worked diligently to cancel our trip, Classic Vacations has yet to issue us our refund that we were entitled to receive. They were quick to take our payment, but as of today, still has not issued the refund due. In the future, we will not be using Classic Vacations for our vacation plans. read more

We have used classic vacations twice now and were very pleased with both trips. We took a group of college students to Cabo for my daughters 21st birthday. They were all in AZ and we are in CA so logistics were a nightmare. Being college students didn't help matters either but Aretha handled every change with ease and made sure we had an EPIC time. Stephanie the owner of KT Travel & classic vacations is the most vile and unprofessional person and company there is. Where do I begin. She was referred to me my wedding planner for our destination wedding. We hired her and paid her in full on November 24th. Our wedding was initially planned for 7/2/22. We requested a hotel block contract for our guest. It then took her 4.5 weeks to send us the contract and prices for the RIU resort which she recommended. Two weeks after we signed the contract, our guest began reserving their rooms they stopped booking their rooms. After several attempts to reach her, my wedding planner began reaching out. She then told us that the hotel stopped "approving rooms" and we had to move the hotel block. It then took her 5.5 weeks to send us a new contract for the Iberostar resorts. Upon receiving the contract she failed to read it and that the terms were changed, she told my guest and I that they would be required to pay a deposit of 100$ which was in fact 300$. She sent out their invoices on April 1st with full payment due on April 17th. Our guest were extremely upset by this. Guest asked for itemized invoices and were never sent them. Two guest requested to cancel their request and she threatened them with a 600$ fee. In May, my fiancé and I decided to postpone our wedding. Stephanie initially began "working " on the postponement, four weeks later, which is her turn around time to do anything might I add. Initially when notified of the postponement she stated she would work on refunding guest that cannot attend. Seeking drama and with my estranged family members. She had extensive conversations (plural ) discussing my personal wedding affairs & business matters with people whom were not invited to my wedding and I have restraining orders against. To add insult to injury she then began tell my wedding planner to fire me as a client. She then sabotaged the rooms that all of my guest paid her in full for, totaling well over $10,000 55 days from my wedding date. It's Un clear if the room block ever existed. For our travel agency, Classic Vacations has been our go to tour operator for the last few years. I should probably have taken the time to write a review sooner but now that we are months into covid with multiple groups having either re booked or cancelled their travel, I knew that now was the time to leave a review. Through this very stressful time it has been easy to see who shines and who does not and I can tell you that Classic has been a shining example of how a company should work with their clients through difficult seasons. I am so glad they were our main tour operator through all of this! They have worked non stop alongside our company to move and reschedule all of our groups starting in March. Some of our groups were very challenging and on some we had a lot of pushback from the resorts we were working with but Classic stepped up time and time again to help us (and our clients) by working one on one with the resorts to help us protect our groups. If you're a travel agent that is looking for a tour operator that is easily available to you, responds quickly, and doesn't just see you as a number, I would absolutely give Classic Vacations a try. Never say never :) After being assured that the group sales team had completely overhauled their system and were retrained from the ground up, and that we would be taken care of I used Classic again this year for my group's trip to Mexico. All I can say is what a difference a year makes! Not only were they completely on top of EVERYTHING, the accounting was organized and correct, the documents were triple checked and on time, the interactions were positive and helpful. I am so glad they have figured out how to take care of group bookings - not just with lip service, but with demonstrated improvement. In response to David, the owner of Classic Vacations let me clarify some of his inaccurate comments. First of all, your customer service number is useless. I called it numerous times, was on hold for over 30 minutes each time, left a message for a return call and never got called back. So David please do not act like your company is responsive. You are also only responding because I have reported you to the better business bureau. Furthermore, we did go to Le Blanc Spa. I spent the first three days trying to get the credit put on our rooms. Again you are not being honest when you say that the hotel got rid of the credits for travel in 2021. Every person who checked in was being given the resort credits as I confirmed with a number of the guests. Also if you informed our travel agent it was not brought to our attention. Also David if you remember correctly, Covid was out of control December 2020. Even if Le Blanc was open it was not operating at full capacity and we decided to not risk getting stuck in Mexico during a very serious time. We DID NOT just change our trip for a frivolous reason. As a high class company you knew the circumstances and are not being forthright. A good company would have figured out a way to honor those credits for good will in the future. My fiance and I were interested in booking a honeymoon in Tahiti and there was an Ideeli coupon that could be used with Classic Vacations. We have never been to Tahiti and are restricted to our travel timing so I called to 1) See how we could use the voucher if we bought it and 2) Ask a couple of basic questions about Tahiti. We spent time researching online about the weather and such, but I wanted to call because Classic Vacations boasts in their ads that all of their customer service reps have actually gone to the advertised locales. After 20 minutes on hold, I spoke to Sasha (ext. 3212), who was extremely curt and condescending. I asked her about the weather in December since I was concerned about the onset of monsoon season. Her response: Well, you can't control the weather. My second question: Should I expect higher levels of bugs/mosquitoes with the season? Her response: Well, it's the tropics, there are going to be bugs, you can't control that. My third question: Are you accepting the Ideeli coupons and can you give me information about using them? Her response: I've never heard of those, you would have to call Ideeli. At this point, I asked to speak to a Supervisor. She put me back on hold and then said the manager was busy and would call me back. Very unproductive 38 minute phone call. I did receive a phone call back from Sasha (who was slightly more kind by this point) and she put me through to the manager's voicemail. However, I was disconnected while she transferred me. I called back and left a message at Sasha's direct extension voicemail. Never heard back and never heard from the supervisor. Trip from hell. We used this company because of a 2 family trip. Our tickets were booked in April 2014 destination Barbados.Trip was scheduled for Dec. 27th 2014. I have 6 people in my family. Seats were given, bags paid,purchased upgraded seats. Less than 24 hours before the trip we were told that our flight was changed. The others family flight (our original) stayed the same. We get to the airport and find out we have no seats at all. While trying to get us on another plane, they cancelled our original seats but did not have room on other flight. After about an hour, we finally got seats and almost didn't make it to the flight on time. The same thing happened with flight coming home. I ended up paying double for my baggage and did not get reimbursed for upgraded seats. No one is taking responsibility and cannot tell us how the mix up occurred. The travel agent just took our seats away from us and gave them to someone else and left my whole family scrambling for flights and seats. They are assured us for the flight home everything was in order only to get to the airport and have this happen all over again. This was a very expensive nightmare. read more

This company is a scam. I booked Travel using American Express which contracts this company. I booked a hotel, ride to and from the airport and insurance in case we had to cancel with in 9 days of the departure date for Cancun Mexico. We paid the deposit in May and then paid the full amount in August. Two weeks later the US issued a travel warning for Cancun. We called and cancelled in September, 75 days before the departure date. The issued a refund but kept the $382 we paid for insurance (all we booked was hotel and any hotel would let you cancel with in 75 days with no fee). This is robbery, this is not how it was explained to me when booked with Alan Morris the rep. When i tried to dispute they hid behind the fine print of their invoice that says insurance is never refundable for any reason. I never signed agreeing to their terms of service. The fact that they can get away with this is unreal, they are getting money for a service that was never provided or even active. read more

I found out while I was at the Westin that we overpaid our rooms by $10,000 and did not get any Starwood points. I would strongly suggest that you contact the hotel before booking to get the rate. We have complained and their remedy is one of 2 options: They will give us 20,000 Starwood points instead of the 90,000 that we actually earned or get $1000 toward another Classic Vacation trip. I am not impressed with Classic Vacations. They created too many challenges during my travel experience. The rental cars weren't paid for on either island although they were noted on my itinerary as if they were included. This was eventually straightened out but only after several phone calls. My condo on Kauai was not air conditioned even though that was my main criteria for all bookings. I was assured that I probably misunderstood or forgot what I was told during the booking process! So was the condo on Hawaii air conditioned if it wasn't requested? We checked out of the Classic recommended condo on Kauai and move to the Sheraton which was less expensive and air conditioned. Only a limited amount of money was refunded to my credit card by Classic for the unused nights in their recommended condo which was much less than the facility quoted as their nightly rate. Classic Vacations did not provide an itemized statement so I never knew what I was paying for. I complained about not having an itemized statement but it wasn't addressed by Classic Vacations. Additionally, I was told I would get a $100 refund for all my troubles, that didn't happen either. I would not use this company again nor recommend it to others. read more

The worst travel experience in my life! I booked my honeymoon with them and they completely ruined what should have been the best time of our lives! To start, they booked the wrong dates. We found this out when we showed up at the airport and were told we were canceled due to not showing up for our flight the day before! Once the rude woman in their customer service department got us on our flight (after over 1 hour on the phone) we thought all would go well. Not even close! Classic Vacations is the worst!!! I chose Classic Vacations for my destination wedding in the beautiful Playa Del Carmen area resort called Secrets. I could spent all day talking about all the fantastic scenery, staff, food, & experience of this resort. However, thats not what this warning is about. This warning is about the lack of concern and professionalism of CV (they don't even deserve to have their whole name spelled out). The reason that my wife (then fiancee) and I choose this company was that since we have a group traveling to one resort, we would get a couple free nights. So here is the only good thing about CV, we got our free nights. Because I had a destination wedding, only family show'd up (a little disapointing when you travel for someone else's wedding, but I digress). All in all there were 12 people at the wedding, so we aren't talking about a group of 50+ members. Hence, you would think that this would be a rather easy request? Right? Ok, here's the itemized list of what went wrong (CV EPICALLY FAILED TO DO). 1. No one receives an actual ticket. What my family did get was the itinerary and the flight dates first. Keep in mind that my family booked 2 months in advance. Most everyone got some sort of reference number to use at the airport about 1 week before the trip. Which isn't too bad, but It'd be nicer to know what the hell is going on before 1 week prior. Also, I say 'most' because my poor sister never received anything in terms of the reference number. Thus at the airport she had to call CV (its a good thing they answered otherwise she would have missed her only brother's wedding) to see what was going on. Oh yeah, they never booked a trip for her.... What? After minutes of screaming they finally said "Ok we have your flight booked. You're all set." Unfortunately, still no reference number. However due to her quick thinking she used the same credit card that she used for CV and finally found here flight. 2. Wrong itineraries sent to wrong people. Remeber those flight itineraries I spoke of earlier (yes, still not actual tickets)? My step father recieved my paternal grandmother's itinerary. This was the lucky portion, he was able to send that off to her address and all is well. However, my grandmother I just mentioned recieved an itineraty for a man named 'David' (not disclosing last name) of which we don't know and was never invited to the wedding. Sorry Dave, but we didn't know where to forward your itin. 3. Trips not booked all the way. My father, step mother, sister, and grandmother all flew together from DIA to CAN via DFW. When they arrived at DIA and presented their travel documents and passports, and the airline desk person entered in all the information, she (the employee) looked at my grandmother and said "So you're final destination is Houston?" Granted, this was the connecting flight for all this side of my family since they were traveling together. BUT WHAT THE HELL IS MY 87 YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER WHO HAS BEEN ON AN AIRPLANE 2 TIMES IN HER LIFE SUPPOSTED TO DO IN HOUSTON ALONE!!!! I cannot believe that CV wouldn't care about the elderly!! I can't believe that they think "Hmm... Mexico wedding huh? Houston close enough?" So once again on the phone. My father this time, laying into whoever he had to talk to about why his mother didn't have passed to CAN. After a couple minutes they were able to find a spot on the plane for her. All in all everyone made it to the wedding ok. However, had this been peek season, that might have been a different story. I consider myself very blessed that I unluckely chose the worst travel agency and that everyone made it to my wedding on time. We used Classic travel vacations for our trip to Italy and France in Sept/Oct 2014 They were contracted thru a smaller travel agency in Nantucket, Ma. to provide services from hotels, transfers, and private tours. We usually make our own plans but we were short on time to do all the research so we thought we would give the 'travel agency' a try. After experiencing what they have to offer we would like people to know this is an over-priced, no value added way to go. In our experience the hotels can arrange any private tour at a lower cost. We had Classic arrange a private tour of Milan because we were only going to be there a half a day and we wanted to see the 'Last Supper' ...we were told you needed to purchase tickets before you get there. This is what a $800 charge gave us * a personal guide for half a day * a driver ...even though everything we saw was in walking distance!!!!!! * a person to pick up the tickets to the 'Last Supper' even though they were 8 EURL and no line at the will call window * another guide inside the church even though we already had a guide who could provide the service...and you didn't need anyone because all the information is provided on the walls * All of these people were subcontracted by Classic so none of these people we were with knew what Classic Vacations was so they didn't know who to call with our concerns and frustration We feel this was misrepresented, misleading, and overcharged...we didn't know everything was in walking distance but they should have (and we are sure they did) We said we didn't need the driver but they said if we cancelled we would be charged anyway because it was too late. We didn't need two different guides. It seemed this was all done to increase the cost. When we tried to contact Classic to complain we could not reach anyone. another concern...our travel agent suggested we get travel insurance. We never have before but she thought we should. We were robbed in Rome but the insurance agency didn't pay anything because if we had home owners insurance they wouldn't cover anything. Our deductible is high ($1000) but they use the same level of deductible that you have on your homeowners policy...whatever that happens to be. Just a word to the wise....which we weren't. We learned our lesson: don't use Classic Travel (or maybe any travel agency if they are all like this one) and don't spend the money on travel ins unless you don't have homeowners read more

Booked a vacation to Hawaii with Classic Vacations (via a local travel agent). At the time of the booking, the property was presented as 4-star, with restaurants on site, as well as a full service spa. Two weeks prior to the trip (and after trip had been paid for in full), we were notified the restaurants and spa had been closed. Contacted Classic Vacations to see about changing to a different resort or getting a room upgrade to compensate for the loss of amenities. Classic refused to help in any way. Agent (Meredith) was terse, rude, argumentative and unprofessional. Only option she offered was to cancel the whole trip. Steer clear of this company! Customer service is non-existent. **** After posting this review, I received an email contact from Classic asking for my reservation # so that he could look into the concerns I expressed. I had a trip scheduled to Turks and Caicos (Caribbean) this fall through Classic Vacations. As a precaution, I purchased Trip Protection Insurance in case the trip needed to be cancelled. Unfortunately, due to a grave illness in our family, we had to cancel our trip. Classic Vacations refused to work with me on the cancellation of my trip. Knowing this was fraudulent, I pushed the issue (high up their management team). Long story short, I was eventually successful in canceling our trip and we did get a full refund. Not only was their deceptive marketing and business strategies stressful, the hours I spent on the phone being transferred between departments and countries was infuriating. I can't imagine having to go through that situation while actually traveling. Each person I encountered was rude and completely unsympathetic to my situation. It was as if I were bothering them by asking for help. I had scheduled a higher end trip at a five star resort with personal butler for the week. I can't even begin to imagine how disrespectful the resort staff were going to be given my treatment with the customer service department. I am thankful I don't have to be subjected to further disrespect/treatment from this company. If you are a person wanting to take a nice trip with great customer service and accommodations, Classic Vacations is NOT for you. I booked a vacation for myself and 5 friends through Classic Vacations. I really liked the service to and from the airport. However, it stops there. The resort we stayed at was the pits for service. I cannot believe any agent would send people there and support the false advertisement of that resort. They boasted 11 restaurants and night life. There really was only 1 restaurant that you could go to (a buffet-woo hoo! every woman out there knows they don't want to spend their vacation serving themselves.) because you needed reservations for 5 of the others and they were booked completely for the week we were there. Now shouldn't Classic Vacations inform you of this so maybe you could try to book prior. Better yet, shouldn't they book those reservations for you? The rest of the restaurants were closed or open on a very limited basis. I was told by a Classic Vacations representative that I should write out my complaints (the very first night we arrived and it was already a full page long) and someone would call me-- they never contacted me. I highly doubt my list was sent anywhere. It should be named Deceiving Vacations rather than Classic Vacations. I understand the resort was the problem, but should Classic Vacations know about the places they are sending people? Shouldn't they inform their paying customers of details that would make their vacation better? Very disgusted! read more
