I called to inquire about a rather extensive European vacation my wife and I are planning for next year and the response I received by whomever answered the phone (no name was given) was shocking. Never before have I been spoken to in such a condescending tone. Read on if interested: It started with an aggressive "los gatos travel" which sounded very rude and like I was bothering them. I then described the vacation we are planning, she paused, and then asked "well have you worked with us before?" I said no we have not. She then asked "okay, were you referred by someone?" I also said no we were not. She then said "how did you hear about us?" The tone on this question sounded like she was surprised we were able to reach them without having been referred. I said that I found them on yelp since they had great reviews. She then said "okay to be honest with you a client who we've never worked with and also does not know anyone who has worked with us I don't think we can take on a brand new client right now we have been in business x years and this would probably not be possible." This one was a little surprising since I was planning this a year in advance. She then said "I assume you have never worked with a travel agent before" to which I said that I have actually several times before. This is when I got upset. She said she would "send me an email for me to send dates and maybe go from there" and I responded that I was not interested in working with their business and expressed my displeasure with the interaction. Might sound dramatic but I think this was the worst interaction I have ever had with a local business. It's a shame because I was planning to give them a significant amount of business only to be turned away because of her ego. Hopefully all of you have a better experience. read more

We were able to go on our honeymoon to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora that was planned by Vanessa and it was amazing! Leslie Stabile helped set up a phenomenal honeymoon for my husband and myself! We did a 2 night layover in Dubai before going to two different resorts in the Maldives. Every step of the way was planned out and we didn't have to worry about transportation or coordinations transfers between resorts. The hotel in Dubai (Raffles) was stunning and had an amazing buffet breakfast. The staff helped us organize a desert safari and gave us advice on the best restaurants to hit up while we were there. After Dubai we went to the Grand Park Kodhipparu in the Maldives. The service was top notch and they even went back to the main island to pick up a go pro camera for us when ours broke. The snorkeling was the best I have ever seen and it was right off our back porch! We were able to go swimming with the mantas, learn traditional line fishing, and loved spending afternoons in a cabana by the main infinity pool. The last few nights we stayed at the Four Season Kuda Hara. The second we got on the boat to the resort I knew we were going to be in for a treat! The hospitality and facilities were the most amazing I've ever seen. The room, the food, the friendly staff, the turtle sanctuary... I had a smile on my face the entire time. The staff at the main pool would make us fresh juices just to let us try something new. My husband is gluten free, and they would make sure there was bread and snacks he could have at every restraint (even shuttling bread from one restaurant to another, last minute, when we hadn't made a reservation!) It was so fun just walking back to the room and seeing sea turtles, sting rays, sharks, and octopuses!! The best part of about the whole trip was feeling so special everywhere we went because Leslie and Los Gatos Travel made sure each resort knew we were on our honeymoon and were treated like we were the most important people in the resort. read more

A trip of a life time could not have happened without the advice Leslie gave us. My husband wanted a 60th birthday trip to the South Pacific. He thought Fiji but Leslie recommended Polynesia. Rather than staying at over water bungalows she recommended the small cruise line Paul Gaugain. Why? Because it covered 5 islands and was all inclusive with Air and ship credits to use for excursions. Then we added 2 nights at an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora. See my picture! Leslie was very patient with us as we asked many questions and we were really worried about the sea sickness. We just got back this week and I can say my family (we took our son and fiancé ) had the best experience ever and we could not have done it without Leslie. First time ever using a travel agency and thanks to the great work by Vanessa Erickson I will likely use Los Gatos Travel to plan the rest of my trips. This best part is that came to a surprise to me was travel agents don't get compensated from the the customers but they get paid by the resorts and activity organizations. I was tasked with planning a bachelor party in Cabo San Lucas for 13 people and with Vanessa's help we pulled off a trip that the entire group LOVED. She was so patient and flexible with us, from the size of the group going on the trip changing frequently and allowing me to book things after collecting money from a large group which can be extremely difficult at times. Prior to departing on the trip she sent me a very professionally prepared itinerary with all of our flights, transfers, hotel accommodations, and activities, with contact info for each part in case something went wrong. There were two times where minor things went wrong at the resort where things that were supposed to be included that were not, and I was able to text Vanessa and she handled them very promptly keeping us worry free throughout our time in Mexico. If you are planning any trips for a group of friends/family or even just a quick getaway for yourself you HAVE to find Vanessa at LG Travel. We worked with Kathy Forward, and the guidance she gave us, based on research she did for us and experience that she's had, was absolutely invaluable and confirmed in its accuracy by every other source of information we've encountered since then. We felt completely supported (in a timely way) at every turn as we prepared for the trip - what we needed to know about packing, getting shots, necessary documents, insurance considerations... so many things to be aware of and stay on top of, and we are extremely grateful for the ample support Kathy provided. The timing for our trip, itinerary, accommodations...everything turned out to give us all that we'd hoped this trip might be and actually more than we'd imagined possible. Kathy also saved us from the only glitch that we encountered on this trip...Our flight out was delayed by 3 hours, which would have caused us to miss our connecting flight in Europe, which would have thrown off the whole schedule for this trip. But as soon as we found out about this delay, Kathy got immediately on it and booked us an earlier flight that allowed everything to go smoothly as originally planned. (Thank goodness we were ready to go early, thanks to all her earlier help! Otherwise, we might not have been able to get to the airport in time to catch the earlier flight!) We've been working with Michele to plan our delayed honeymoon. She's been great - they were the only group to answer their phones and get back to us on a list of travel agencies we were calling! Once I talked to Michele she gave us a lot of info right away, then followed up with detailed itineraries the next two days. At first she gave us itineraries for tours to give us an idea of our options (for a trip to Italy). She also offered recommendations for other locations if we felt that Europe was too much for our budget right now. We told her we didn't love the idea of tours and she followed up right away with an independent travel plan that was within our budget. We plan to book with her and will write another review as things progress. UPDATE: We're back from our trip and it was great, thanks to all the planning by Michele. We did an independent trip, so we planned the daily activities on our own, but Michele prepared an itinerary for us before we went with lots of suggestions. The hotels she picked were also really nice and very conveniently located. She booked our train tickets and answered all our questions about getting around Italy. We would definitely recommend her! It was a special occasion and we provided dates, a budget and a basic itinerary. We were even instructed by her to get our daughter's list of must see spots. We provided Maureen with this and additional information. We circled back with her four times..... two emails and two voicemails. Never got a reply. I would not recommend Los Gatos Travel. I wanted help with a trip to Europe with 6 months lead time for my family of 4 in order to get the best flights and hotels. They wanted to help, had good ideas, but then never follow up. I had to email and email them to book flights and then when i asked for hotel accomodations they just never got back to me.
