Not sniff sniff sick, but cough hack cough gross cough sick. I'm just glad his window was open most of the ride so we did not hang out with an incubating virus. I'm going on vacation, not taking a trip to the CDC. 2. Who drives through the Lincoln Tunnel and purposely opens the window all the way? Any NY or NJ resident can attest to the questionable air quality down there. 3. He was texting and emailing while driving. Seriously? Illegal. Unsafe. I want to live. Every time his iPhone made a noise (text, email, whatever) he unlocked, looked, and addressed it. 4. He drove like we were very badly losing an F1 race while driving in a Suburban. Routine 3-lane shifts, tailgating, playing chicken with busses. Topped out at 87mph. Seriously? What the hell is the rush? SLOW DOWN. 5. See number 4, add number 3. Even more emergency braking because of this. Exponential amounts of stress. 6. Did I mention he was sick? Yup. 7. My quote from Hoboken to JFK was $88. Not $104. 8. $8 charge to use my credit card?!? What now? Why was that not in the quote when I explicitly said I was charging this? 9. We got there. I was livid. I argued the $104. I finally said whatever - and then he said "that doesn't include tip." OH? I threw a few bucks down in cash and left without saying anything. 10. Went thorough security, livid. Called the company, they were nice. Took a very detailed complaint and said the manager would call me back, he wasn't in yet. I'm out of the country right now (vacation in the DR) but I hope, for their sake, I have a voicemail and direct contact information for the manager on my phone right now. 11. They must have then called the driver to tell him I lodged a complaint --- because then he called me. On my cell. From his cell. To yell at me. And say he was not texting. To say he drove fine. To say I was rude. To say he left us alone the whole ride. Let me repeat - the driver called me. To bitch. At me. Don't call me - that's your manager's job. This is the definition of unprofessional. This is a service business. Your job is very literally to drive me to a place. Safely. Not like we are racing. Don't play with the traffic. Quit swerving around. I paid for a relaxing ride to JFK, not a race in a death trap. 12. I called the company back again and told them the driver called me. I want a full refund. This was a nightmare. Judging by the generally positive reviews, I'm sure there are better drivers. But at the moment - under no circumstances do I recommend this place. Maybe we'll talk when I get a full refund and a coupon for a large % off my next trip, should I ever choose to try them again. Update: the manager texted me and is aware of what happened. Worst service ever !! I called 6:18am for a pick up he said 20 minutes. .. 25 minutes later still no car. I call back he says he should be here around 6:45. .. 6:45 rolls around still no car. The driver then calls and says he's 10 minutes away. Okay no problem. 15 minutes later still no car. I call back he still says he's 10 minutes away. At this point I'm super late for work. FINALLY an efficient car service with reasonable rates in the Jersey City area!! The cars are clean and pretty new from what I can tell. They have never picked me up in anything other than a Town Car or SUV, which is more than I can say for another car service in the area that once sent someone to get me in their (very small) personal car (AFTER they kept me waiting outside for 30 mins AFTER a 15+ hour flight from Asia). I would not lie. Regardless, that was THOSE guys, not THESE guys!! These guys are very friendly and the cars are clean and fresh, no cigarette smoke lingering in here!! Would give -1 star if there is an option for that. We asked for a transportation to the airport at 8:00 am the next day, and was confirmed with an SUV cause we had a lot of luggages. But the next morning there was no sign of the car till 7:50 so I called the company asking for it. The person who answered me put me on hold and talked to some other person for 5 min in a language I don't understand but I think I heard the word "SUV". Then he got back to me saying he had sent someone with an SUV. Clearly there was no car sent for us before I called. At that time I kind of regret that I didn't ask for the car earlier because our flight was a 10:00 am international which require checking-in at least 1 hour in advance and we weren't able to check-in by ourselves. But it should have only taken 20 min even with traffic to get to the airport so I weren't that worried. And I were told on the phone that "he will be there shortly" and I believed him. Now I just feel stupid of myself about that. So you can guess what happened at last, we waited and kept calling the company for another 40 min and the company kept assuring us that the car "will be there shortly" . Have now had three bad experiences with this service. First time, the driver was texting while driving and swerving all over the road. Second time, the driver had been smoking in the car and the smell was overwhelming. This last and final time we will use this service, I was guaranteed a town car would pick us up from JFK. Two things, the driver went to the wrong terminal and we had to wait outside for 15 minutes, AND he showed up in a beat up TOYOTA CAMRY. Right now we are on the side of the highway while he investigates a strange noise the car is making. This car is bumping all over the road, there is plastic dragging on the ground, what a nightmare. The only positive I can find is that the driver seems like a nice guy. I kept trying these guys because of the positive Yelp reviews. I figured, it must be good, maybe I just had a bad experience. Better than any other experience I have had. If you live in the Jersey City or Hudson County area, this is a good car service to use. I am happy to report that this early morning experience was a great one which matched the easy phone experience I had when I called them yesterday about 1:15 pm. My mother had to be driven to Newark Liberty at 3:30 am for a 5:15 am return flight to California. According to my experience with the company, the employees, both operator and driver, were personable and communicated well. In the wee hours of the morning, when I had failed to ask about how much they would charge us for the ride, the driver's response included a price $10 less than the other company and what the internet stated I could anticipate for the distance involved. According to my mother's senior citizen experience, she phoned when she arrived at the airport, the ride went very smoothly. My mother is very outgoing and shared all sorts of information about him. To her, the driver was young, personable and good-natured. Beyond being dressed professionally, in a white shirt and tie, and beyond being on-time, the driver gave my mother a hug when he helped her to the curb at the United terminal. Over all Classic1 impressed me. PRO: Driver was on time, polite, and got me to the airport on time. CON: Price quoted from Jersey City to EWR is $25 on their website but when you book a reservation, the price is suddenly $30. When I asked them to explain the difference, I was told it was because of delays due to road constructions. I requested that we take 1&9 to avoid tolls but was told that's not an option and charged me $5 for tolls (both ways). I received a text from Mike about 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival saying he was in the area and was ready to pick me up when I was ready. On the way to the airport Mike told me that I could schedule my return pickup via Text message. He provided me with the number and required info. A week later, when it was time to come home, I texted the number with my flight details. I received an immediate response confirming my pick-up. At the recommendation from a trusted friend, we recently called Classic 1 for a pickup to JFK Airport. I've had inconsistent experiences with taxi services in Jersey City and my friend had good experiences with Classic 1 Limo. Classic 1 Limo is GREAT! I called a week before to reserve the car, and called the day before to confirm. The day of departure, the car was EARLY and he sent me a text to let us know that he was downstairs waiting for us. We made a return pickup from JFK to Jersey City and they were equally efficient. I called when we landed, and I had a message from the driver that he was at the airport waiting for us - that was awesome!! Had the same driver for a pickup from Hoboken to Newark Airport as well as a return drop off. The first time he was 15 min late picking us up, which wasn't the worst thing ever, but for a morning flight every minute counts when those security lines can be horrendous. On the the return he was 40 minutes late on a 11:50pm pickup and had to call the dispatcher twice, each time getting a "he's 10 min out" followed by a "5 min away". Once he did show up he told me there was a bad accident on the Turnpike, which wasnt true, as other friends on our flight who were picked up had to take the turnpike both ways, and saw no accidents. I made all reservations through their websit, got confirmations of times as well, so there was no excuse for this. I will not e using these his again. read more

I'm not a big Yelp reviewer - more of a reader of reviews, rather than writing them - but I have to give Classic 1 limo and Marco a big thank you! I've used them pretty regularly for pick ups from Jersey City going to EWR. Previously I'd used another car service, which was usually 30% good, 70% late or shady, so I was glad to try Classic 1 a few times and be pleased with the drivers, the cars we were picked up in and the overall service. On our last trip, my fiancé and I were heading to EWR to take a one-way flight in our final step for our move to California. Naturally, our flight was delayed 6 hours, so instead of 5:30p takeoff we were now looking at 11:30p+. Classic 1 was very accommodating to the changing schedule (I think I had to call at least twice to arrange a later pickup time due to the delay) and they were always professional. Even when the car arrived about 30 minutes early for pick-up, then had to unexpectedly leave right as we were ready to head out, they at least had another vehicle ready for us within a few minutes. We arrived at EWR on time, and about an hour+ later as we're getting settled in our seats and I realize that one of my carry ons is a little lighter than it should be and I'm not seeing my favorite black jacket, which had been put in it before we left. We soon realized the jacket was not with us and I could not think of where it could have fallen behind - my best guess was the car, but I figured it was a long shot. Long story short, when we called Classic 1 from the plane, they initially said there was no jacket (I was SOOOOO bummed - it's the worst to lose a favorite items for no good reason). My fiancé called back the next day and spoke to Marco who said he'd look into it, and surprise - they had the jacket! I was so excited. After a few conversations with Marco on how best to get the jacket back to us, Marco volunteered to take it to a UPS store to have it shipped (we provided CC for payment). Just the other day I arrived home, and there was my favorite black jacket hanging on the back of my door. Marco - I am VERY appreciative of you taking the effort to return a customer's lost item. You went out of your way to get it back to me, and I think other companies wouldn't have done that or would have just said they didn't have the jacket. I just got back from a trip with my one year old daughter, and I am so glad I chose Classic 1 to get me to and from the airport. I made my reservations online, and someone called me a day later to confirm everything along with a confirmation email. I love that they will communicate via text and email. George was at my door 10 minutes early to pick me up, took all my luggage, and even offered to help me install my car seat for my daughter. On the way to the airport, he was very friendly and when I realized I had forgotten to get cash, he was happy to stop at the ATM so I wouldn't have to use my credit card to pay. For my trip home they took my flight info and tracked my flight. When I landed 25 minutes early, I was shocked when I turned on my phone and saw that the driver was already there. Sam told me to tell him which door I would be waiting at and then patiently waited for me to install my car seat. He was also very friendly. This place had the best rates for car service in jersey city. I made a reservation and they were all kind and polite on the phone and even in person. The day of pick up the service came 20-30mins early (we knew she came early because my boyfriend checked the mail while I was getting ready and said that the car service was already outside) and yet she just patiently waited for us to be ready on the time we requested to get picked up. On the way to the airport we coordinated another service with them for pick up at the airport just because we were impressed with their punctuality. When we arrived to LGA I turned on my cellphone and there was a text from the person picking us up at the airport letting us know he was there and for us to let him know when we are by the baggage claim. My driver called me a half hour before my pickup time to let me know he was in the area, and once he picked me up, he was very friendly and courteous. I felt that his driving was very safe, and the car was clean and comfortable. Not only was the driver fantastic, but the price was so reasonable. I paid exactly what quoted (plus tip, of course), and it was well below quotes I received from other services. Finally, I noticed other reviews where others were unhappy because they couldn't use a credit card. Fortunately, I was prepared with cash, but my driver mentioned that credit cards are normally accepted, but cannot be used on Sunday because offices are closed and they cannot call in for authorization. The confirmation came around 3:15pm and the driver, Ramon, called at 3:35 indicating he would be arriving at 3:40 at my house in Jersey City. They sent me a SUV even though my booking was for a sedan. He already knew the turnpike was blocked near 14A and took the Skyway without my asking. The driver was friendly, polite and drove safely. NEVER again. I've used this car service several times and they were initially reliable. Recently, they have been completely unreliable and dishonest. The driver arrived early for a recent airport pick-up, called repeatedly while I deplaned and waited for my bag, then informed me that he had to leave and another driver would arrive in 10 min. They clearly didn't plan properly, causing me to stand outside the airport for 20 minutes waiting for the replacement car (all while swearing that the car was "2 minutes away"). Today my car was 15 minutes late to take me to the airport. Again, the dispatcher initially swore that the driver was "2 min away" when I called. I ultimately called to cancel (thank god for Uber!) and the dispatcher claimed that the driver was sitting outside trying to call me - but I was standing outside and there was no car. I've just been in the worst taxi ride to the airport. Let me list this out: - slow. It's like he deliberately tried to pick the slowest lane to drive on. -inappropriate. When I asked my husband a question about the lack of e-zpass, the driver interrupts me and tells me his whole sob story about how someone spilled coffee on his pass then he passive aggressively calls me "sweetie pie"?! In stop and go traffic. - 10% surcharge for credit cards? - oh and it smells (like old oily hair). Bottom line: will never use this service again. And even when I've requested a car last minute, they are always upfront with me about how long it will take and do their best to help me out. Used this service after reading good reviews. Older nice cars for pick up. The driver was early and called to let us know he was there. Simple transfer from Jersey City to EWR. I cant stand that these company's do not have a way to process a credit card other than using a the old credit card slips. Pick up returning was supposed to be the driver would call when you landed. They texted me shortly after arriving. I was happy and told them I would clear customs and be outside in 10 minutes. They said to let them know where I was at and door number and they would be right there. Well after waiting 10 minutes they said they were going to be right there . 10 more minutes and they finally showed. Older town car with enough air fresheners to kill any smell. Well driving along I realized he had the wrong address for drop off. He then took the longest possible way though the downtown. Once again on drop off paper to process a credit card. After using Classic 1 Limo and recommending them to my out-of-town guests, I have now had two bad experiences and will not use them again. 1) I had made a reservation on the phone from downtown Jersey City to Newark-Liberty Airport. The driver ended up over-charging me on the base fare and the credit card processing fee. I did not immediately notice because I was in a rush. When I brought the mistake to the owner's attention, he quickly corrected the issue. Great, but really should not have to waste my time like that! 2) Last night, I landed at Newark and called Classic 1. When leaving the airport, the driver asks "you guys aren't in a rush, are you?" A bit confused, we said "no." The driver then informs us that he had left his light on in his personal car and he wanted to stop by to turn it off so the battery does not die. He told us the car was very close to the airport...15 minutes later, we are still not at his car. Mind-you, I live about 12 minutes from the airport when there is no traffic (last night there was none, too!). After telling him we understood his plight, but we are PAYING for a service, the driver made sure to not charge us for tolls. WHAT? How about half-off for taking double the time the drive should have. I could have taken the 10 PM train and gotten in sooner.
