Brought my 7month puppy, Winnie, here for the first time and was very happy with the results. I was told that it may take longer with puppies because they want to make sure they feel comfortable and calm and was even warned they might not be able to trim her but it all depends on how the puppy is. Was expecting 2-4 hours but they were done in 1.5 hours! She also had a bad experience the first time being groomed but she came out super happy and calm this time around. Classy Canine was recommended to me by a friend who has been going to them for years. I have decided to try them out because they seemed like the most decent groomers in my area. Initially they seemed very professional, but it was not until I picked up my dog that I realized they are over priced and offer very bad service. First of all the full groom was supposed to include nail trimming which they did not do at all. Also, the quality of the groom was not the best. The groom looked very patchy and there was an uneven/bald spot on her body. To pay $200 for a terrible groom is unreasonable. I am very unsatisfied with their service. I am very particular about where I choose to receive services; I always make sure to read Yelp reviews prior, and this place seemed very promising, but I would be very cautious with trusting them with your dog. Make sure to read all the reviews, good AND BAD. Do NOT make the same MISTAKE I did. Hopefully this is not how they treat all of their customers. read more

It was my first time taking my German Shepherd August to get a bath at Classy Canines. I am happy with the work that was done, but I realized soon after that I was charged an additional $27. I believe I read that pets picked up after closing incur a dollar charge every minute, but I was sent a text at 4:20 to pick him up. I was already outside the shop waiting for my dog. I know it's just a few dollars, but I emailed the establishment and haven't received a response yet. read more

Katrina is an amazing groomer. Every time she grooms my pups they come out looking so cute. Prices are very affordable considering her skill level. My pups were accidentally scheduled with Savannah and Lindsey one session(instead of Katrina) but that was okay because their work was amazing as well! Katrina hand picked these groomers for a reason! My only slightly negative experience during that session was with the young female who worked front desk that day. I told her that I had asked for Katrina when making the appointment but she said I did not and that Katrina hasn't worked for a few days(despite seeing her IG stories of her grooming the day before). I know who I asked for when making the appointment so her claiming that I didn't was a little off putting. If you follow Katrina on instagram you can see Classy Canine's great work ethics. They never turn down a dog even if it is aggressive/challenging. She will groom every dog that other groomers may have turned away. It's funny because just yesterday I saw another one-star review that was left but has now disappeared? Seems sketchy. This used to be my go-to because they were the kindest people and my dog always left happy. However, with this new management, I will never be going back for several reasons. 1) I left about two voicemails in a span of a week. I then waited another week to hear back. With no luck, I called and finally got through. The woman I spoke with said that I had missed my appointment last week. I told her no one had returned my calls to tell me I had an appointment in the first place. She didn't address that and instead proceeded to say that they were very busy and that if she were to schedule me for another appointment she'd have to be "very strict with me". I asked if she was being "strict with me" because of the missed appointment that I again, had no knowledge of even having. Terribly rude, but I thought that with how busy it was I should give some slack. 2) I arrived at my appointment, and while waiting to have my dog seen could overhear teens in the back. They were talking about "girls being ghetto" and "thinking one of them was Filipino". As someone who is Filipino this really annoyed me. If teens are going to be hanging out in the back (should they really be around so many people's pets) should they have conversations like that for anyone to hear? 3) I left my dog, and told them that he had matted fur. The other one-star review that so suspiciously disappeared stated that she also came in with a matted dog but thought it didn't require shaving. I felt the same way about my dog, but got a call an hour later about having to shave him. I said okay and trusted their judgment. However, I have brought my dog to the salon before in the same condition and they've always had time to treat him well and never had to shave his entire body. 4) I arrive after 3 hours because I didn't know if the salon was still open. The woman proceeded to tell me that the groomer had an emergency, and that someone else had to take over my dog's appointment. I wish I had gotten a call. Also, she told me that my dog was "aggressive" and that "a lot of dogs coming to the salon misbehaved and didn't know how to be on the table" but "no worries, Katrina the dog-whisperer was working with my dog". Again I have been taking my dog here for a while, and the groomers have always said my dog has been well-behaved. 5) My dog is back with me now but unfortunately won't stop acting weird. He keeps shaking randomly and seems to be a lot more cautious than usual. I can only imagine what they did to him when he was "misbehaving on the table". I never had a problem before this new management. I will take my business elsewhere. Beware. I also hope this review actually stays up. read more

Took my puppy for his very first haircut today, I was super excited to see my little pumpkin. when I got home I noticed he was licking himself so I checked him and he got hurt. Dog owners beware! Take your pet here completely at your own risk as this shop will not take responsibility for anything. I took my 2 boys here back in July of this year. This visit resulted in me having to take my youngest to the emergency vet. He suffered from severe trauma to his eye that resulted in a corneal ulcer. I never received an apology, just a lot of combativeness from the owner telling me "accidents happen" and it's "covered under their terms of service." When asked, I sent the bill of $360 to the owner and never even received a reply. It's extremely upsetting to trust your pets in the hands of a groomer (someone you should be able to trust with your pet) and then to have the worst happen. I could get into all the details, but why bother. What's done is done. I just hope all pet owners take a look at these reviews before deciding upon this shop. read more

100 stars!!!! Everywhere I take our fluffy corgi, Bruce, they shave him down too short, you can see the uneven shearing techniques. He needs to be trimmed about 4-5 times per year when he gets very shaggy. Classy Canine's is the only place that does this level of work! He always comes back perfectly trimmed, even his ear and foot feathers are perfection. So glad they are back open. Wonderful service! read more

This is the best groomer we've found in the bay area. They have always been great, but yesterday went above and beyond with a fantastic looking trim and blow out for my dog. His fur is long and very thick and with no grooming since before COVID, he had become matted and kinda stinky. These folks did such an incredible job getting all the tangles out so his fur is silky smooth and he looks like himself again. To top it off, he was less stressed by the experience than usual, which is highly appreciated. read more

Very disappointed. I've been coming to this place for years now and I DO NOT plan on coming back after my recent dogs visit. Her hair cut around her face was super uneven. The worst part was waiting 30 minutes for someone to come answer the door. There was 3-4 people other than myself standing there waiting. I rang the door bell quite a few times and NOONE came out. Yet you could hear the staff in the back not very far. Then one person comes out wearing headphones and says "sorry I can't hear the bell I have headphones on" but as she came out she left the door open and all the staff in the back didn't have headphones on. Why would you put headphones on if you need to hear when people are at the door ? So they purposely let us stand there and wait. Not 5 minutes not 15 minutes 30 MINUTES!!! The fact that it was on purpose disgusts me. I work in customer service and i would never. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

I have had extremely bad experiences from this business. It seems as though they are abrasive to black people. The people who own and manage this business are extremely combative and border on harassment. I have never had an experience as horrible as the experiences I have had at this shop. There are far BETTER GROOMERS IN THE BAY AREA. Not only does the management try to argue the customers down but they will also threaten to involve police over minor inconveniences on their behalf. I would never bring my dog to a place as racist and insolent as "wiggle rumps". If you are a black dog owner I would suggest Pawsitive Karma and Bliss bound hound because the service is exemplary. Katrina and her crew are the best. They care about the pets so much. It's the only groomer where my dog happily runs inside! They pay individual attention to each dog and my dogs always come home soft and smelling so good. I never like to write bad reviews but I just feel cheated out of my money. I've been taking my maltipoo here since she's been a puppy but today will probably be the last. The woman in the front took notes of how I wanted her groomed, I was also very specific but when I went to pick her up she looked the complete opposite of what I asked for. I asked for her face to be round teddy bear, the standard maltipoo look, we don't like when she looks more of a poodle (just our preference) and we usually like to keep her hair fluffy around the face/head area. This also happened last time we took her in for a cut but we understood that time she was matted so they had to shave her body down but we always ask if they can keep her face more round and 'teddy bear look' not to shave her face and they kept her ears really long when we requested to be cut short which made her look like more of a poodle which we do not prefer but I felt they ignored our requests back then to. This grooming place is amazing. They are very transparent in how they operate and that is the most important for me for my puppy. My dog is super anxious and I've managed to get him a little less nervous about the whole experience and also made it easy for me to get in and out within an hour VS many hours of leaving him at another groomers. My dog also doesn't like to be crated, and they are very compliant with this request. They have me pick him up usually on an express grooming within 90 minutes. They are a little pricey, but I think it's worth it read more
