I had an appointment today with Alisha. She did a fabulous job with my orange tabby (Papi). He's a senior cat and he's my entire world. Alisha has amazing, kind, and safe energy. Papi is about to turn 9 years old, is a rescue, has anxiety, and is very shy. Alisha was incredibly patient with Papi and made sure he was very comfortable. He had a fabulous first grooming experience. I'm so happy that I made an appointment with Alisha. Papi feels so soft and smells so good! I can tell he feels great after his bath. I gave this business two chances (well tried for 2 chances...) and unfortunately was sadly disappointed both times. First visit was with one of the groomers who did a poor job grooming my small Pomeranian, who is nice as all get out (has never bit a human, loves kids, etc.) the cut was uneven and her nails were not cut even though I asked if that was included and she replied "yes". I am thinking - Ok fine. I didn't say anything, maybe this just wasn't the groomer for my pup. I decided to book directly with the owner, Melissa, hoping for better service. Four weeks later (4 days before the appointment), I received a text from an unknown number saying: "good afternoon I just found out I have covid I need to reschedule thanks, Melissa." No business identification, no mention of what appointment, it looked like spam. I decided to play along with the potential spammer and responded asking what needed to be rescheduled, Melissa THEN clarified it was for a grooming appointment. After reading some concerning reviews about this business (including one about a dog being injured), I decided to cancel and politely told her "That's ok, I will just cancel my appointment". Instead of any professional response or acknowledgment, she simply canceled the appointment through the booking app without saying anything. I then texted her back and told her why I cancelled since she did not seem to care, and I wanted an opportunity for the business owner and I to communicate before having to leave a review, but she didn't respond. The lack of basic communication skills and customer service from both the groomer and owner shows a pattern. I know she mentioned she had covid and I am so sorry for that, I totally get it, I am actually under the weather too (not COVID), but she obviously had enough energy to write me a subpar text message, then clarify who she was in 2 more messages, AND cancel my appointment within three seconds of my response. read more

1-26-24 We were so excited to finally come in for our dog's first appointment with Melissa after waiting three months for an appointment. Our Aussie has allergies which affect her skin, so was hoping the thera-clean would help with that. We dropped Gracie off at 12:15 and left her in Melissa's care. About 45 minutes later we received a call that "for some unknown reason" Gracie's nail had come completely off and they couldn't find it. She said that they could not stop the bleeding and told us she needed to go to an emergency vet right away." We quickly drove back to get her...her foot was wrapped so that we could not see the wound and she was still wet from a half bath. We took Gracie to the emergency vet who cleaned the wound and took care of it. The complete toenail was missing and by the time we got to the vet it had stopped bleeding. Gracie is still limping. We are astounded that Melissa did not even check to see that Gracie was OK, even after four days. We trusted Melissa to take care of our dog and her uncaring response to a dog she injured is just incomprehensible to us. I was not going to do a review but felt this was necessary. We will not be going back to her after our experience and the experience of other reviewers as well. read more

I came here to get my dogs nails cut on a Friday. The shop was small but pretty easy to find. The parking here can be tricky sometimes as its a busy street. This place warrants a followup review because we have been back several times and she is warming up to Melissa and always comes out looking much cuter and more confident, like she "knows" she looks cute, lol. I was interested in taking my dog to a great groomer, went onto yelp, and was excited to come across Melissa Michelle Grooming. Fantastic reviews and great words for her service. It was also more exciting to see that she didn't have availability within the next month or so. I booked my (small corgi mix) dog a full groom with thera-clean treatment for late April in early March. However, I was left quite disappointed with the outcome. I picked up my dog about 1 hour after the appointment started (it was reserved for about 1 hour 40 minutes..), which was weird. When I picked her up, I asked about her nails and if Melissa managed to groom them properly, because my dog is fairly difficult with that at home. She said she missed a few because my dog responded poorly to it, which I knew is true. However, it was part of the package and I expect that if I take my dog to a professional to get her nails groomed, that they are groomed. And to be fair to my dog, I am able to clip her nails with enough time dedicated, it just takes a lot of patience. So not seeing this as a good reason to return my dog without all of her nails groomed. I quickly realized that even though I purchased the full grooming set, which includes a bit of trimming, my dog was not trimmed AT ALL. I wasn't expecting her to look drastically different, but instead, I was expecting uneven parts of her coat to be evened out, even if that means she will grow the fur back quickly. There was no trimming of her paws either. I wasn't able to notice any part of her coat that was trimmed. I am just really disappointed. I could have asked for these things specifically, but I made the poor assumption that the package I purchased would include these things. The only good outcome was it seemed like the thera-clean bath made her (my dog) smell really good for about a day or two, and reduced her shedding for 1 day. I wanted to be optimistic about my dog's grooming.. And I do not enjoy leaving bad reviews. I was not expecting a transformation for my dog, but I was expecting the least of the package that I purchased (a full groom with thera-clean set for a small dog). But I am thoroughly disappointed with my dog's grooming, and I am sad to say I don't see myself coming back. read more

So great to have a local pet grooming shop in the neighborhood! No longer have to trek all the way to Castro Valley to get our babies looking the best! I used the website to schedule the appointment and got both a text and email reminder of my appointment which is great for a forgetful person like me. Prices were beyond reasonable and parking was perfect. Dropped my Pepper princess off and went and got a coffee next-door. Took about an hour and then I got a text that she was all done. Walked over and saw my baby in the window all beautiful and clean. She is a bit of a baby with her nails being done but Melissa was a pro and worked with her so she wasn't as scared. So.. we had some miscommunication with my yorkie... the pricing was higher than expected upon pick up . I also did not like the adult size ponytail holder that was placed on my yorkie very small head And ponytail.I reached out to Melissa and she offered to cut the ponytail off and even out the coat to match and I declined .. since the kids love her ponytail. Brought my very fearful mini doodle who's 11 months for 1st time today (found her on next door app and she was taking new clients -win 4me). Melissa Michelle was great. Got an 8 am slot & out by 10. Callie was fearful of the clipper vac machine noise, so she patiently did a scissor cut. She was fearful of the shower head so she waited untill she was used to it. I have a long haired black cat named Eero that hates being touched and brushed, as a result his coat became matted in places. I was worried about taking him to a groomer because he dislikes being touched so very much and thought I might have to drug him for grooming but Melissa was amazing! She said she would like to try grooming him without him being medicated which I really appreciated. I could tell that she really knew what she was doing. She handled Eero so gently and efficiently.
