When I picked up my dress, I was impressed with the craftsmanship; the pockets looked seamless and appeared as if they had always been part of the dress. Her work is exceptional, and she demonstrates great skill. Jenny and Mary met with my Dad and I in their studio this past Saturday and we so accomodating, sweet, and had excellent recommendations. Not to mention - they are taking my dress which, as many are, is desiged for a woman no taller than 5'4" and making it long enough for my lanky 5'9" + heels! MAGIC, I tell you! Living in Western Wisconsin, traveling to Anoka felt like a bit of a stretch but the online and social media reviews help me convince my daughter we had to include Xandy's in her dress shopping day. SO glad we did. Xandy's was the last stop of the day; there had been one dress that had taken the lead at the first stop followed by a incredibly discouraging experience at the second stop ("I have to be honest with you; I don't think we have anything you are looking for"). Arriving at Xandy's last was like a breath of fresh air. SO much peace. So much love. So much happiness. Instead of having our daughter rehash her day, Sia started from square one, listened carefully to our daughter and pulled dress after dress that wrapped our daughter in happiness. The decision wasn't easy but when a very special song randomly played overhead while our daughter was in one of the many incredible gowns, it was the sign she was looking for. Our daughter doesn't easily show emotion but the moment overcame her and, alas, SHE SAID YES TO not just the dress but also an incredibly perfectly matched veil! SIA- you will never be forgotten! When I bought and ordered my dress, I got the vastly wrong size in the bust/shoulders. I was extremely nervous about getting the dress to a point that fit me for my wedding. I'm SO grateful I found Modehaus - Chelsea listened to my concerns and my requests for alterations (I also wanted to add pieces to sleeves) and each appointment I went to I could tell there was careful thought and work put into my dress. I could tell from my first appointment that Chelsea is serious about her work and is truly an artist. I want to note that Chelsea shared the price at the very first appointment, and didn't increase it even when we needed to have an additional appointment to take my dress in one more time.
