Craving something savory and sweet then Claude's is the place to go. Hotdogs and fries in one side and ice cream on another. Great selection of ice cream flavors. Not your ordinary plain vanilla/chocolate, not that there's anything wrong with that. I do love variety and one of a kind concoctions and Claude did not disappoint. Also inside and outside seating available. Perfect for a nice summer day. Only issue is the long line with both, seemed a bit understaffed. They tried their best though. Paid $9 for a banana milkshake!! Ridiculous!! So an xl milkshake is $6.45. I asked for an xl banana milkshake and was told it should have 2 bananas since it is an xl and it would be $2 extra!! I said, $2 for an extra banana and she replied, no the bananas are $1 each.......really.... Claude's lost my business! I will go out of my way to go somewhere else! I hear a lot of satisfied customers, though it was different for me as we all have different tastebuds, so for me, the ice cream not only tasted as some would say," off from tasting like what real ice cream should taste," but the selections are not that impressive. Parking area is a headache due to congestion in a very small town and busy street. There is an outside area where one can enjoy their purchase in view of a park across the street. When visiting Palmerton, something you would maybe like to consider is stopping by Claude's Creamery for a quick bite to eat. They are most famous for their DELICIOUS ice cream. I'm not big on eating meats, but I've heard from various family members and friends that their glizzies (hot dogs) are amazing. It also smells like heaven in there! The only thing I would probably say that I absolutely hates about Claude's Creamery is the crowd and popularity. It can get to the point where the line going inside is going outside around the block. Came over the summer with my partner. The location is clean and in a very popular spot within walking distance of the park. Parking can be a bit tight so you may need to find an on-street spot. They have a huge selection of ice creams and when we were waited on, they had adequate staff for taking orders. When we received our ice cream, it tasted amazing. My wife always went for the malts, I liked the hot dogs, which were delicious. We stopped there a few days ago, my wife ordered a malt, and the counter person didn't know what a malt was. He was going to make her a dish of vanilla ice cream. She said, No, I want a vanilla malt. He said, Do you mean a milk shake? No, a malt, like it says on the menu board hanging above your head. I ordered my favorite, a Coney Island Dog. The bun was toasted, which they never did before. This always indicated to me a stale bun that they want to use up. The hot dog was tough and rubbery. What happened? Consistency is important. The hot dog was awful. They need to hire people who know what they're selling, and they need their food to be consistently the same as what you got last time you came. Going downhill fast. read more

Stood under the order here sign at the hotdog end and watched many ice-cream customers get served before us as one of the three employees avoids eye contact with us. A great little place for ice cream in Palmerton. The staff is very friendly and caters to the kids very well. They allow them to sample any and all flavors to help them in their decision. This is a very nice local ice cream joint, I do not think that they serve other creamery's ice cream. The flavors seem too unique. The price is right and best of all they have a walk up window out on the street. My only real criticism is that it is really cramped inside. read more

We visited on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't busy but customer service was poor. The server lacked enthusiasm and the Ice Cream was just ok. The layout of the creamery does not flow well. Stopped in this evening a couple minutes before eight. I didn't realize they close at eight. ( Google maps said they close at 9:30). We stood there for a bit looking at the menu on the wall. When we turned around to place an order, the young lady behind the counter said they were already closed. It would have been more professional of her if we were told when we walked in the door, or if the open sign had been turned off. It was a rainy day and we purchased ice-cream cones for the kids and ourselves. In addition, my mother purchased milkshakes to go for her husband and handicap daughter. She was given a paper try to hold the milkshakes. Because, of the rain the paper holder became weak and walking only from their store to their parking lot the holder fell apart upon entry of our vehicle! Now, we have two milkshakes spilled on my mother, our leather seats, console and floor! Frustrated, annoyed and while sitting in the quickly cleaned-up smeared sticky mess we later called the store and explained our experience to a manager. The manager said that if it was "something that they did they would refund our money". I explained twice, that I did NOT want a refund but only a credit for the two shakes...The manager refused twice and I was given a credit for one milkshake. Very disappointed in their service! Very disappointed. My brownie sundae was made by someone that didn't wash her hands, didn't use gloves or tongues. She took my brownies with her dirty hands and pushed them down into the sundae cup to make room for the ice cream. GROSS ! I might as well have licked her fingers since she rubbed them on my brownie. I come here for hot dogs on occasion - they're very good. Be careful if asking for mustard or anything similar - they do have a tendency to drown them. I've tried the macaroni as well, but it's really quite expensive for the little cup of it you get. It had an odd crumbly texture that didn't really appeal to me, but I'll pop in for a hot dog when the urge strikes.
