We stumbled across Claudette's Cafe after running in Bay Village...we live within a 3 mile radius but had no idea it was nestled in the parking lot strip. We came in as a party of 7, took over a large round table and were waited on quickly with carafes of coffee and never ending eater. We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast menu, bar offerings, and lunch options. Unfortunately we were too busy talking to take pictures of our meals, but they were each fantastic. If you are looking for omelets and perfectly crisp hash browns, Claudette's has them! The bill was moderately priced for seven meals and beverages to go around. If you are looking for a quick breakfast, or you want to lounge around with a large party the dining space and service were pretty great. We will definitely be back when we are looking for a quick simple breakfast. read more

Came here with 9 other friends for a girls breakfast. We called a day ahead to make a reservation. Not sure how many people were going to be there. This is my first time here. It's a large space with booths and tables. It can fit a decent amount of people. They sat us quickly and the server was very prompt with drinks. She brought waters and carafes of coffee. I wasn't in the mood for the Bfast and they gave me the lunch menu. I got a bowl of soup and half a corned beef sandwich. Soup was chicken noodle. It was hot to the table which was great. But it was kinda bland. Definitely homemade. Just not a lot of flavor. The half a corned beef sandwich was hot. I asked for no cheese and got cheese anyway. Not bad but I didn't want it. It was also hot and I wanted cold. So I guess I should have been clear but the server never asked me either. It was OK but not what I wanted. Everyone else got various breakfast foods and a few other lunch items. These were wrong too. We got a sandwich that was suppose to be a tuna melt that was just a tuna sandwich not a tuna melt. We got a breakfast sandwich with the wrong cheese. Lots of mistakes that could be prevented to make the experience better. Overall the feeling of the group was just meh. Some were OK and some said their food was just bland. Prices weren't bad about average. Server was nice but not sure she wasn't part of all the mistakes or the kitchen just made things their way. Wouldn't go back. Lots of other better choices around. Loved spending time the girls. And they let us sit and BS for awhile with no pressure. That was nice. Ok. So i figured this place out. There is other local cafe/ diners owned by the same family along Center Ridge in Westlake. Maybe owned by a Greek family which it seems like. And that a not the problem. They look like it was an old used restaurant or a used catering hall. They overcharge!! We had the simple breakfast , sunny side up eggs sausage and toast. My husband had eggs, sausage, French toast, and hash browns. The hash browns were burnt and still frozen. They messed up my breakfast by not listening to my order. Their soda is so bad it taste like metal. Anyways the bill came to $30. Never again!! Be aware of just wanting a diner kinda food. They are just as expensive as going to Scramblers( probably better quality) Bob Evans( better quality) . Never again !! Beware of the scams out there!! read more

We went for breakfast. The restaurant is very spaced out, which I like. You definitely have a good space around you. There seemed to be only one cook and you are able to see him while he cooks. He was very quick on getting orders out. They do serve alcohol as well. Our waitress was very nice and was able to help with any questions we had. I have always liked everything at claudette's. Today I ordered the meatloaf and mashed potato special. Ugh. The potatoes needed more mashing and either some cream or butter added. They were lumpy and dry. The meatloaf was bland and tasteless. I added salt, pepper and hot sauce. Nothing helped. Plus the whole mess was covered with tasteless gravy. The waitress offered a "doggy bag," but truly I wouldn't feed this to a dog. read more

The last few times we ate there, the food was so so. It used to be much better. The hostess is always very friendly and seats us quickly.

Second time we have gone for a weekend breakfast. It is a pretty large place so no real wait. There was ample staff and we were able to order pretty quickly. I ordered the crepe combo with scrambled eggs, includes 2 bacon strips and 2 sausage links. The bacon strips were so thin that you could barely taste them. The sausage links, I am only guessing, were a brown and serve type. Eggs weren't bad but were dry. The crepes on the other hand, were surprisingly good. They has a very small amount of a white, sweet filling; maybe a sweet sour cream or cream cheese. Didn't even need the fruit topping that accompanied it on the side. Fiancé ordered the country fried steak with sausage gravy and said it was good, not great. He requested poached eggs which were cooked to his liking. He also ordered a side of gyro meat which was flat and very dry. I would come back if I was hungry for crepes. read more

Hadn't been here for a while, my son took me to breakfast for my birthday. Menu had been updated and had a lot of great options. We had the chorizo breakfast burrito and they were delicious and pretty good sized. Service was fast and friendly, servers and staff were great. It was quiet when we went, able to have a conversation without yelling. Place is clean and comfortable with a throwback vibe. A "fish fry" is not just one 7"x3" slab of unidentified fish for $16.99 (which is what I got). For the price it's usually a few different kinds of seafood and a whole dinner. $16.99 for one (disgusting) flat piece of fish!!! It tasted like a mixed fish frozen patty & it stunk!! I ordered fries & onion rings (which were probably also frozen) on the side & they were just ok. VERY DISAPPOINTING!! A few days before this I ordered from the breakfast menu and it was amazing!! Had breakfast there about 10 days ago. Wondered why dining area so cold? I learned after paying bill the furnance was broken and waitress said it will take $25,000 to fix it. So I do not plan to come back until I hear the place has a working furnance. Omelet was average and rye toast was so dry it was hardly edible. Not sure who owns or runs this place but it needs upgrades. There are few breakfast places in Westlake that offer decent food from the grill. Stopped here for lunch today for the first and last time. Food, service, etc. was fine. Tho it was only noon they were out of french fries. How could you not realize the day before that someone better buy more french fries. When we just about got the food we ordered, a woman came in with her pet dog. After driving by this place many, many times I finally had a chance to stop in and check it out. I am so lad that I did!! The atmosphere is spacious, socially distanced, and the decor is everything I love about a "Mom and Pop" diner. My server, Jackie, was amazing. Super attentive and friendly. The food was PHENOMENAL - I tried the steak breakfast burrito special with garlic potatoes and a side of French toast. It's unusual for me not to be able to finish all of my food, but that was the case today. Huge portions and quality ingredients. The garlic breakfast potatoes were the highlight. Service was slow. The place was packed. When you walked in you could tell it was not ventilated well, you will walk out smelling like grease. The food was mediocre at best. I'm a vegetarian and had many choices. The onion rings were frozen. Our sever was new and very pleasant and accommodating. Gave it another try for breakfast today and did a Togo order, the short female host gave me the hardest time just for asking for a side of syrup to go with the French toast, $5 for these tiny pieces of bacon.
