We visited this place last night for dinner and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. We started with drinks, and no one asked us which brand of whiskey we preferred. When my husband went to the bar to request a specific brand, the bartender said the cocktail had already been made and couldn't be changed, which felt dismissive. We then ordered two steaks. Mine was extremely oversalted -- to the point where it was honestly hard to eat. I usually don't like sending food back, especially since we were very hungry, but when my husband tried it, he was shocked that I was even eating it. When I mentioned it to our server, the only response I got was that she would bring more water -- which, by the way, never happened. Overall, the experience felt careless and inattentive. It was such a nice day so we decided to sit outside on the patio, which was very nice until our food came out, and the bee started to attack us, our server was more than accommodating and let us move inside which is why I gave this place three stars! The chicken Parmesan I was told was very bland and I did not eat it instead they took it home and doctored it. The bacon cheeseburger was OK per my daughter. I ate the buffalo chicken pizza, which is a solid three stars, and I'm not sure I would order it again. The chicken buffalo dip on the other hand was phenomenal and highly recommend. We regularly grab lunch at Stonehouse when we are in town. It is an absolutely fantastic place. The service is incredible and they are always attentive to us and making sure that we have everything we need. The food is amazing as well. The tomato bisque with a 1/2 a grilled cheese is a can't lose. Any of the salads (especially the strawberry one) are huge and will fill you up. The champ though is #5 The Legend. It's basically a deli sandwich with a burger in the middle of it. Unreal! Just a fantastic place to grab a bite to eat and have some really nice folks take care of you for a bit. read more

What a great place to have dinner! I recommend the outdoor seating, it's not too loud and very pleasant. A quick web search and boom up pops the photos of food at stonehouse grill. The food looks like fine dining and expensive. The building looks like a nice restaurant. Only problem, do we need reservations? Are we underdressed in shorts and sweats? So we called, guess what its casual local dining. We pack up the crew and head out. From the second you walk in you can tell its good. Nice, clean, and welcoming. We tell the server its our first time and ask what is good. Taylor gives us the low down. Tells us her favortite, tell us whats popular and lets us know the stuff thats nothing special. When asked what wine she recommends she steers us to a 337 cab, no hesitation, so im in. One delicious wine. Good flavor, no aftertaste, great balance. A nice start, next we order the first two dishes recommended. Neither would be the normal go to meals at other places for us. Cheese crusted chicken and the strip steak... ive eated more fine steaks than anyone could reasonably expect at fine steakhouses across the U.S and Canada. Filets are my first choice. So understand when I say this strip streak is outstanding in flavor, texture, and preparation you should trust me. Now lets talk chicken... i was expecting to be disappointed after the bites of as perfect of a steak as ive had. But once again i was thrown for a loop with surprise. The chicken melted in my mouth and flowed with savory deliciousness. Both were awesome. The steak was only slightly more impressive but both were great. Even the appetizers were spot on. The pizza was undercooked and the rest of the food was lackluster, especially for a check of $120 with no alcohol! The worst part of the experience was our server. We had to ask someone else for silverware and at one point my husband and I had to share a fork. She did not check to see if we needed anything, never told us when our food was coming and then explained to my elderly mother in law that she would prefer a cash tip because it took 2 weeks to get credit card tips. It no longer is. The chaos new ownership and an ensuing, poorly managed has chosen to introduce changed that. Dining as Storehouse is now disappointing and stressful. If it weren't for staff and fellow regulars I wanted to see, I wouldn't ever go back. The allure of a restaurant should be the food, the atmosphere, and the escape it provides. Stonehouse no longer adds any of those things to my life. We're already dialing back our frequency, and I know others are planning to as well. Owners get to choose how to run their business. It's surprising--and personally disappointing--to watch new owners' elective disregard for regulars and the opinions of customers who made the restaurant they bought successful in the first place. read more

I've been coming to Stonehouse Grill for many years now, in fact, since the first week they opened. Love the food and the always excellent service! It was crowded tonight so we sat back in the bar area instead up front by the windows where we normally are or on the patio as we do during the summer. I was deeply disappointed to see that of the three TVs in the bar, one was tuned to a sports channel, but the other two were on NewsMax and Fox News respectively. Not a very savvy move for a restaurant. I'm not asking for them to turn on MSNBC, wouldn't non political channels make more sense? They have sadly lost my business. We decided to try something new after we left a performance at Playhouse Square. Nice little place. We ordered tye Spinach and Artichoke dip as an app. It's definitely more cream cheese than anything. I mean a lot of cream cheese. I'm used to a healthy mixture of cream cheese and Mozzarella but all I tasted was cream. You could barely see the spinach and there were chucks of artichokes like it had been diced. I ordered the salmon and hubs had the jambalaya. His jambalaya was very....wet. Lots of sauce. Now, I'm no pro but, I make this dish from time to time (my mom and her family are from Louisiana) and you're supposed to be able to cook the liquid out and fluff the rice, veggies, meat. There were also large chucnks of veggies which should uave been finely chopped. He said the sauce tasted like a box sauce based on the seasonings he tasted. My salmon was blackened. It was very well seasoned..A little too much salt but since there was no sauce with it or even lemon on the side, it was dry. The asparagus was chewy and over salted or over cheesed (parmesan) because it was very salty. The roasted potatoes were good. Our wait staff was super nice. She made sure we had refills on time and eas so pleasant. Oh the hubs also added a side salad and our wait staff told us the guy in the kitchen was new and made him a dinner sized plate of salad. Not sure if we will come back. For what it is, the prices are a bit on the higher end. That could be because of the location. We enjoy ourselves when we come to the Stonehouse Grill, given the good tasting food and portions. There is a main dining area, and a bar in the back, as well as a small outdoor patio on the side. The servers here are real nice and professional as well, and the ambiance is good. Too bad they don't have more seafood though, such as shrimp and/or scallop dishes, and more dessert choices. Their sister restaurant, AJ's, has a 'Cajun Rumba Pasta' shrimp dish which is delectable! Lastly, they need to switch the TV channel to something other than the garbage FOX News propaganda and lies they usually have on. Put on some CNN, CNBC, etc. for chrissakes! This place is perfect for a casual night out with friends! The wonderful people are Stonehouse Grill were able to seat our party of 11 on a Friday night with ease. They did not take reservations, so I was a bit worried that we would be waiting for a long time, but that was not the case! This place is pretty spacious. Our server was wonderful. She was sweet, thorough, and attentive. She took care to ensure we had all the condiments and made sure our drinks were always full. I ordered the "#5 THE LEGEND". This is basically a dressed up version of a Romanburger from Mr. Hero's (which is one of my favorite things of all time). It was a delicious burger on served on a sub roll with capicola, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, banana peppers, mayo, and sub sauce. The burger was definitely a bit greasy/messy, but that is usually the case with a delicious burger! I would highly recommend this sandwich. I also ordered the seasoned waffle fries, which were delicious. I only wish the meal came with more fries, but the burger itself was HUGE (two patties worth). We all ordered different things; chicken dinner, salmon, stir fry & pork chop we all were happy with what we got! My only complaint was the bartender making our drinks did not know what they were doing! I ordered a Bloody Mary and asked for it not to be overly spicy and was given a glass of tomato juice with vodka... disgusting. Found this place on the spur of the moment when place I was looking for was closed for vacation. Lit up like a diner, with a full restaurant menu but it also has a full bar, which is where I sat. Tables are inside as well as outside if you like al fresco. They had everything from pizza to burgers to sandwiches. I had the jambalaya, which had a surprisingly authentic flavor. You can get it with chicken, shrimp or both, but the andouille sausage and the spice mixture made it taste the like real thing. Washed it down with a few Great Lakes Dortmunder lagers on tap and I was good to go. Friendly staff and patrons provided some good conversation for a stranger while I ate.
