We took the standard Uber taxi for the four of us including our two friends over our first two days to the Coliseum and Vatican City. All Uber trips were effective. Uber IT Taxi for 4 passengers is a standard Uber IT taxi vehicle. Three sat in the rear. I sat in the front on our two roundtrip trips. Uber IT taxi is small and tight for four passengers. Uber IT Taxi from Radisson BLU hotel to the Coliseum cost 25 Euros excluding gratuity. Uber IT taxi from Radisson BLU hotel to Vatican City also cost 25 Euros excluding gratuity. Our friends separately took the NCL bus from our hotel to the airport. Both of us took my UberX Black from the Radisson Blu hotel to the Rome FCO airport, which was a very nice large black van with lots of room for our very large luggage. UberX cost 118 Euros excluding gratuity. Overall I was pleased with my using my Uber app to reserve taxis and UberX within Rome. I especially enjoyed my UberX Black to the FCO airport in Rome. Our 14 day European vacation is now over. Now that we have arrived at FCO I will review Leonardo da Vinci Rome Fiumicino (FCO) Airport.

It s a problem with how the uber app communicates with the taxi apps or something. And of course, you can't find any help on the uber app on how to resolve. I'm taking it up with my credit card company and let them take it up with Uber. Really poor experience with Uber here in Rome. And this wasn't a scam by the driver, he was showing me what he was seeing on his app.

It feels less like a standard train station and more like a mega-mall that happens to have tracks attached. The selection of stores, cafes, and markets here is fantastic--you can easily kill an hour shopping or grabbing a great bite to eat while waiting for a departure. Just a heads-up: give yourself plenty of extra time to reach your train. The platforms here are incredibly long, and if your train is assigned to one of the regional tracks or a high-speed engine waiting far down the line, it can be a massive, unexpected walk to get to your carriage. Keep your eyes on the departure boards and don't linger at the shops too long.

It's super busy but conveniently is very close to a lot of stuff in Rome, so for day trips or if you are staying nearby it's very convenient. This is definitely not my favorite train station but it's also a super useful tool for getting around. Just prepare yourself for a bit of a chaotic arrival and you will be totally fine. The uber pickup area is a little hard to find, through a nondescript hallway, but getting an Uber worked pretty easily for us. In the past I've had no issues getting cabs as well - at least not no more issue than anywhere else in Rome.
