Great team of 3 guys who were respectful and cleaned up well after. The seam we were worried might show since it is in the middle of the large room isn't visible! So happy!

They brought the wrong wooden molding and it did not match. They then came back with the right molding and were inches short. 3rd time they came to do the molding it was finished....but they rehung the closet doors wrong (backwards) in the rails and the doors wouldn't move. Finally came back and rehung them. Stair carpeting was stretched too tight and was fraying at the edges. Came back and reinstalled. New carpet guy said it looked like the original job looked rushed. Designer visited and said the stairs looked overstretched. Left some scuffs on my walls. Total time until the room was done: 6 months. Yes I'm absolutely serious that this Costco sponsored business took 6 months to finish carpeting 1 room and 1 staircase. All I got was an apology from Costco and Shaw carpets. Find someone else for your carpeting. This was expensive and time consuming and endlessly frustrating.

I'm giving…read moreone star because the owner, Chad, cost me a significant and entirely preventable 30% budget overrun -- and he did it after I gave him multiple chances to get it right. Here's what happened: Chad visited our home three times before we signed. On his second visit, I pointed out that the subfloors were in rough shape and asked directly whether I should repair them. He told me not to worry about it. The weekend before installation, I sent him a video of the floors and said I was thinking about going to Menard's to pick up 1/4" plywood to cover the entire main floor. He called me and told me not to do that -- said it would be a waste of time and money. Monday morning, his installers walked in, looked at the subfloor, and immediately said it was in awful shape. Their recommendation? Go to Menard's and get 1/4" plywood to cover the whole floor. Exactly what I had proposed. They charged $25 per sheet of plywood plus $40 per sheet to install it. When it came time to settle up, I wrote two checks -- one for the agreed amount plus half the overrun, and a second check for the other half, with a note to Chad that he should only cash it if he felt it was fair for me to absorb the full cost of a problem he had twice told me wasn't a problem. He cashed both. I don't know if Chad was inattentive, undertrained, or simply not honest with me. What I do know is that the owner of a flooring company should be able to assess a subfloor. I flagged the issue twice -- once in person, once on video -- and was turned away both times. If you're considering Third Coast, insist on a written subfloor assessment before you sign anything, and get any scope-of-work promises in writing.

He was kind and courteous to us and our new home - provided marvelous insight on the options before us and what he thought would look the best for our home. Had an experience that was disappointing. I had a defective floor that Hamernicks had installed…read more First they would not help me until the builder of my home paid a delinquent bill, that had nothing to do with my floor. This took about a month. Then they said they filed a claim with the Manufacturer. Two months later told me that they mistakenly had not filed the claim. Once all this was done. They gave me an estimate and then said they had made a mistake and raised the price $1100. I contacted their CEO and made her aware of the problem. Never heard back, so my fear is that their lack of concern for their customer starts at the very top. My opinion is if you are looking for an efficient, accurate and customer focused company. Pass on this one.
