Bought through Costco. Designer Jessica came to our house with samples to see what would work in the space. She was a great listener and helpful in her suggestions! She even ordered a bigger piece of the one we thought would work and sent it FedEx to our house. We were able to complete the work order documents and payment on our computer. Easy! Our rebate is a digital shopping card for Costco which I did receive after installation but haven't used yet. The installation went smoothly! Great team of 3 guys who were respectful and cleaned up well after. The seam we were worried might show since it is in the middle of the large room isn't visible! So happy! read more

From the get-go this was a bad experience. The carpet was creased after installation and they insisted time would fix it and it would fluff up. Months passed, finally they replaced it. They brought the wrong wooden molding and it did not match. They then came back with the right molding and were inches short. 3rd time they came to do the molding it was finished....but they rehung the closet doors wrong (backwards) in the rails and the doors wouldn't move. Finally came back and rehung them. Stair carpeting was stretched too tight and was fraying at the edges. Came back and reinstalled. New carpet guy said it looked like the original job looked rushed. Designer visited and said the stairs looked overstretched. Left some scuffs on my walls. Total time until the room was done: 6 months. Yes I'm absolutely serious that this Costco sponsored business took 6 months to finish carpeting 1 room and 1 staircase. All I got was an apology from Costco and Shaw carpets. Find someone else for your carpeting. This was expensive and time consuming and endlessly frustrating. read more

I think it's called teepeeing. They came out multiple times to try and fix and were unsuccessful. LOOKS HORRIBLE!! We recently purchased carpeting from Magic Carpets for a bedroom and staircase in our home and hired them to install it. The price was approximately $1,900, which we thought relative to other pricing we had seen signaled a premium product. We were given a 90 minute window during which the installer would show up and made arrangements not to be at work during that time for a period of time thereafter. The installer showed up 2 hours late. No warning call. No check-in to say he would miss the window. No apology on arrival either. The carpet that was installed was good quality and the quality of installation was adequate (though spacing between the end of the carpeting and the staircase edge was slightly uneven, I probably wouldn't have noticed this had I not been upset about the late show and lack of apology). The carpet is soft and looks to be of good quality, and it looks nice. When I called to express my dissatisfaction with the late arrival, the company was not very apologetic. I was told that we had called at the end of the window and "didn't seem too angry" so they thought everything was fine. They said that "they got the job done the same day" so they didn't think it was that big a deal that they had missed the window by a couple hours. Not the biggest deal in the world, but not very respectful of their customers' time either. They asked what I wanted to resolve the situation and I asked for a discount of some kind. They offered an area rug, which I told them we had no need or desire for. From their point of view, that closed the matter. I am satisfied with the carpeting we bought but dissatisfied with Magic Carpets' customer service and what I perceive as a lack of respect for its customers and their time. read more

A little disappointed in their service. They messed up the install date because the sales rep mis read the calendar. They were supposed to take out the old and install the new on my day off. They did their best to rectify the situation, but instead of the salesperson handling it, she asked me to do it! I talked to 3 different people, including the owner, and not one had a clue what was going on. The install was completed a day late, and the world did not come to an end. The install guys were good and fast, once they had the schedule explained to them, which apparently no one but myself was capable of doing! I went through Costco, and this is who does their flooring. I would use again, but would make sure to verify day and time. read more

My spouse and I recently moved into a large 1921 Colonial style home after living in a small condo and needed area rugs. We figured We were on our own in choosing them and stopped at Magic Carpets to start the search. To my surprise they told us a Designer would actually come to our home free of charge to see the space, colors and style of the rooms and then we would meet again at the showroom to select the new rugs. Our Designer Cassandra knew immediately that we needed 2 8x10 rugs in a classic and timeless style with the color navy blue in both to connect the rooms to one another, something I never would have thought to do. They delivered the rugs to our home for a very nominal fee and placed the rug pads and rugs in place. The rugs look amazing and set the tone for the furnishings and accessories in the rooms. Cassandra will definitely be helping us with all the rest of our flooring needs as we get our new home set up. read more

We needed carpet after finishing our basement. We shopped around for quotes and magic carpets came in as the lowest out of 4. The selection was good and Jerry was really helpful in helping choose carpet. Someone came out to measure within 3 days and we were able to order the carpet the same day. One thing that set magic carpets apart was the fact that they had availability to install just one week after ordering. This is much better than a lot of big box stores that have an installation wait time of 3-4 weeks. The installers were polite and professional and we are very happy with our new carpet. One star comes off because the installers were about an hour late to start the job, which could be a deal breaker for someone who is taking time off work/can't work from home to get the carpet installed. read more

I found Magic Carpets through the Costco Flooring program and was very pleasantly surprised with the entire project. My designer, Cassandra, was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with via email. She brought a wide variety of sample materials along and was helpful in guiding me toward the right solution for my space and needs without being pushy. She provided a cost estimate on the spot for two different materials so I had a good sense of things and could take a day or two to think it over. The total cost came in well below other bids I had received for similar materials. The removal and installation was smooth and easy, and most importantly, the carpet looks and feels FABULOUS! A few minor points of criticism for the sake of full disclosure. Upfront we discussed installation after the new year, and I had to reach out to get a date on the calendar rather than them reaching out to me. I also had to follow up for instructions on how to treat the concrete between removal and installation - I would have loved it if the treatment could have been included in the removal service! There was also a weird disconnect during our consultation appointment, where the designer arrived on time and a separate guy who was coming to measure the space was 45 minutes late. Finally, although I was appreciative of the fact that the removal team moved all the furniture out so I didn't need to prep the area, the installers put it back in somewhat haphazard fashion and left a lot of items kind of piled up out of place. I attribute this to the fact that different teams were sent to do the removal and install, so the installers didn't really know where everything was supposed to go! Overall, though, I highly recommend. Bonus: If you go through Costco, you get 10% cash back via Costco card on the price of the project! This REALLY makes it a great deal. read more

We went through the Costco program and were referred to Magic Carpets. This was a whole house install, luxury vinyl plank flooring for the main floor and carpet on the second level. From the start the process was great. We met with Mark the designer first at the shop and went home with a lot of samples. Mark came out to our home the following week along with another gentleman who did the measurements. We set up the install for a few weeks later. The installers were amazing and very professional. We actually had a small glitch with the carpet as we had had all our trim painted white a few years ago and didn't realize that the pile of the new carpet was quite a bit shorter and when they had painted it didn't cover the bottom of the trim. The carpet installers pointed out the problem right away and suggested we reschedule the install giving us time to paint the trim. Before they left they made sure to cut away the old carpet around the walls making the paint process a lot easier for us. After everything I wouldn't go any where else for flooring and would highly recommend Magic Carpet! read more

I decided it was time to replace the worn runner on the staircase of my 90+ year old home and a friend of mine referred me to Magic Carpets. I called to see if they would need me to take measurements before coming in and they said no a Designer and a measuring specialist would come to my home free of charge and furthermore more the Designer would have a van full of samples to look at in my home. It took no time at all and our Designer Mark and I had chosen a beautiful and very durable carpet in a stately color and style. Mark then asked what we planned to use as a rug in the entry hall and said we could have a rug custom made to the exact size we need in the same carpet! From the home visit to installation was less than 2 weeks and as you can see in the pictures it's an amazing transformation! My initial impression was Great! The sales person I worked with had a great style sense and really worked hard to help me with my selection as did the staff in-store. That group was outstanding. If only my installation experience had been as good or even "good enough." Instead the crew left pieces of food and wrappers on the floor, not enough flooring was ordered so I had to wait a week with exposed concrete floor where the crew spilled a puddle of glue and just left it in my hallway so I was walking on sticky concrete. If that had been all I wouldn't have written this review but I need to let the buyer beware: My install started on 7/7 and still is not complete as of 9/23. I have called so many times I lost track of # of calls, and when someone finally came out they agreed that things were incomplete and damage on install including my walls (not just the baseboards) scratches to installed new flooring, damage to ceiling (?) my furniture and etc did need to be addressed, he would be back with me by 9/9. Nothing yet. Not sure what to do next. Don't let this be you. Best wishes on finding a flooring business that can deliver good service from the sale and through the installation! read more

This place is unreliable and unprofessional. I called to get a home estimate. The guy called to say he was running late and would be about 15 minutes behind schedule. He didn't show up until an hour later. After he measured the house he went to the car and realized he forgot the carpet samples at somebody else's home. He stated he would call the following day to confirm an appt for that week. He never called the next day or the day after. He finally called on the day that he told us he thought he might be free. If we cannot rely on someone being on time or calling when they say they would call we couldn't rely on them installing carpets for us. Pass! read more

We just had multiple rooms finished with new Shaw vinyl (wood look) flooring. The entire process could not have been easier from the product selection, job measurements, ordering of the materials to final installation. Everybody involved (Matt, Tony, Eric, Nick, Matt on installation team) were all on time, did what was discussed (made helpful suggestions) and were friendly while being very professional. The installation was amazingly quick with completion in two days. The 3 member installation team cleaned up after themselves and helped me by moving the heavier furniture to where I wanted it positioned. The job is beautiful! Thank you Magic Carpet team. read more

I got several quotes before choosing Magic for my carpet project, which was a large family room and a set of stairs. I'm happy with the outcome because (1) they were the lowest price, AND (2) this carpet is twice as good as the other bids, with a face weight of 65 ounces compared to around 30 from the other vendors! Removing the old stuff was extra difficult because it was glued down. They had to come back a second time to do the stairs because they didn't have enough carpet with them the first time. After the stairs were done, I had some creases that would not come out, but they scheduled the repair immediately and they came out the very next day and fixed it perfectly. The installers were friendly and professional. Such nice boys. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it took a couple of visits, but the final outcome is perfect and beautiful, super high quality carpet, and was under budget. And they moved the furniture and did not bang up any of the trim. Would definitely use them again! read more

We bought the this carpet through Costco. The sales rep from Magic Carpets said they would come out to install on a Monday at 9am. He told us that they would not call ahead and they would just show up. My husband and I both took the day off expecting we would be moving things back into place. When they didn't show up by 10am, I called. We were not even on the schedule! Instead of telling us that, the person on the phone told us that they were running a little late and wouldn't be there until noon. Long story short, The installers are unable to complete the job and will have to come back again. I can not take another day off! She asked my permission to share her personal recommendation as follows: "I ordered my carpet through this Costco process and I highly recommend it. Magic Carpet was an amazing company to work with From beginning to end. Top notch on everything from carpet quality to all details to ending with a perfect install process.----Don't hesitate "make the call" she said as she continued pushing her cart toward the exit. "Hmm I had been thinking our outdated house was in need of refreshment [like the owners]!" Built for our young family in 1975! Might as well start by replacing the carpet! Next day I placed the call. I'll start with this summary and add reasons after: There is no substitute for excellent Customer Centered Old Fashioned Quality Products and Service!! Our experience with the Shaw flooring Center was truly MAGICAL! My deep gratitude to each of you: Designer Kashai came to my home with a vanful of carpet samples. She helped me start my selection process. She left me with several samples to choose from. But I was still waffling. I'm one of those persons who wants to see and compare all the carpet samples in the world first! So I shopped around--- Home Depot, Hom Flooring and Furnishings Carpet for sale Online etc. I coulda shoulda saved my own time and temperament. I circled back to Shaw Showroom and the Magic started! I asked to speak to the manager. Phil the owner came out of his office to meet me. I apologized for almost placing my order with another store based on initial pricing comparisons. I thanked him for his integrity. I learned the difference between a transparent inclusive bid and one that emphasizes lower price by the 'foot' then blames contractor install service for $Extras and other additional fees like take-away old carpet and moving furniture $ by the piece etc! It all adds up and Shaw's overall cost for material and services is more than fair--It's Exceptional! So now I am committed and thanks to Sarah and others in admin. For ordering, scheduling and all other behind the scenes care and work they do! If you call the main phone number a real person answers. No automated fake voicemail message to caller at this business! Now Kudos for Best Performance on the whole team goes to: The carpet installer, Dillon, for his conscientious Butler White Glove Customer Service!! He called us to ask what time was best for us for him to start job, and he called each time he came to continue the work. It was a big job-- huge family room hallway downstairs and 3 bedrooms Upstairs. Checking in occasionally to be sure he was accommodating our needs as he worked ,i.e. noise level temperature in home etc. My husband has fragile health so we remained at home while the work was being done. This included moving beds, and some big pieces of furniture. Magically appearing: Scott showed up to be the 'heavy'! He also vacuumed carpet so my rooms looked like 'The showroom" when finished. I didn't have a chance to thank Scott because he disappeared magically when his work here was done. But I repeatedly thanked Dillon for being so considerate, neat, efficient, focused, and occasionally he even whistles while he works! He did mention he is a sub-contractor but works almost exclusively for Magic Carpet because they treat employees and customers so well. I have never written a review online before but felt compelled to do this due to high level of customer satisfaction I experienced, I speak for my husband as well. Summary: This group of folks worked hard to be sure that we were pleased. In the end, we were. Good: Terrific carpet, very pleased with end result in our home. Installers were on time, seemed experienced and got right down to work. I believe we got a good value. Various office and showroom personnel were courteous, showed initiative and cared caring for us as a consumer. Opportunity for improvement: Some misunderstandings on cost and installation did occur, which left me wishing that more would have been put in writing to care for both parties, and less reliant on various conversations with various personnel. Overall, we had a pretty awful experience with our carpet install. There were numerous breakdowns in communication between the sales staff and the installers, which resulted in missing our target deadline for having the install completed (which we communicated numerous times to the sales staff). Additionally, we found a foreign object that was under the new carpet. After sending someone to fix this issue, there was yet another communication breakdown and it wasn't fixed. Once we took it upon ourselves to resolve it ourselves, we found that it was a piece of loose ceramic tile that the installers didn't notice at all and just put the carpet over. We communicated our disappointment to the company and as of this writing, we haven't heard a single response back. No apology, no sense of concern, not even "I'm looking into this". If you're reading this, there's a good possibility that you were directed to the company via their connection to Costco and you'd like to get 10% back on a Costco card. Find someone else. read more

If zero was option I would have chosen that. They used the WRONG glue for our linoleum flooring . We had huge air pockets for months.They were not on time for appointments .The person who set up appt did not communicate to the installer. They did not seem to care that they did a poor job.We spent extra to make sure we had NO seams. We ended up with seams and lines because of poor prep under floor. read more
