He makes sure you understand. I told them I pulled off my own braces . They didn't make me feel any type of way for that either! He gave me a lot of options for treatment and made me feel at ease by letting me know that they do offer sedation dentistry for patients with anxiety like mine! I was floored. We went to this dental office for a free consultation. First, we requested that they send out the new patient paperwork via email two weeks before the appointment. That did not occur. The new patient paperwork was extremely to long. The paperwork focuses more on medical health than dental issues. Our VA medical doctor does not request this must information as patients. Secondly, after completing this paperwork we were given an office tour that was not needed. We did not come to tour the building. Thirdly, we provide current copies of both of our x-rays but was told that my wife still needs to pay $201.00 for an 3D CT scan. This was surprising because we have done several free consultations before were the 3D CT scan were performed free, especially when we have the 2D x-rays. We were very confrontable with our dialog with Dr. Chad Schalk, DMD. We believed that he was the right dentist that we needed because he explained our situation in the right matter. He kept it very simple. The problem mainly occurs after the Dr, left the office. The missing understanding was that my wife would need to pay an additional $89.00 more for an exam before being seen by a dentist and I would also need to pay an additional $89.00 for an exam before being seen. This information was nowhere on their website for free consultation. We did receive a treatment care plan for my wife which was not accurate because she was not seen by the dentist. It did not include all the work that is needed. We were disappointed with this experience. A three hours of waste time. We requested a copy of the 3D CT scan since they charge us $201.00. We had to wait 45 minutes before we could receive that. We believe that this office has the right dentists to perform the work, but the protocol procedure is very bad. We did not receive a free consultation. This was not what we expected.

And everything changed. They insisted I needed a deep cleaning. I asked for a standard one, like I'd had my entire life. They said no. ***They refused to touch my teeth unless I agreed to the deep cleaning.*** There was no real conversation, no concern for my dental history -just pressure to sign. Feeling trapped, I went along with it. That was the last time my gums were healthy. The hygienist was clearly rushed. She barely spoke to me, blasted through the cleaning like she had a deadline to meet, and left the room immediately after she finished. No dentist ever came in to check her work. And my mouth? Pouring blood. I've never bled during a cleaning in my life--this was profuse bleeding, a foul taste, and a bad smell coming from my gums as soon as I left. I knew something was off. And I was right. However, the dental office is now claiming I still owe a balance and has been pressuring me to pay. So now I HAVE A BALANCE FOR PREVENTIVE CARE IN NETWORK AFTER INSURANCE PAYMENT. This place will sell you treatments you don't need and overcharge you for services you receive. I am not sure if it is legal for them to add this to their paperwork - "I further understand that I am responsible for ANY amounts not paid by my insurance for ANY reason".

Dr. Parikh invested the time to come up with a treatment plan that aligned with my mom's insurance, to minimize her out of pocket costs while also minimizing disruption to her ability to easily use her teeth as these treatments happen over time. Both he and his wife (the other Dr. Parikh) are kind, caring providers, and it's clear their leadership in the practice carries over to everyone else, because everyone working there exhibits the same, thoughtful bedside manner. When I got there they told me that they needed a drivers license. I told them I was not comfortable with that and that if they would allow me I would bring a passport on the next visit, I was going to have several. The rather large lady at the front who by the way was extremely rude the whole time, told me that they could not wait for that. She said she needed my license NOW! I asked her what she was going to do with my license and she said "I am going to scan it in the computer and upload it to the cloud"! I told her there was no way she was getting my license if that is what she is going to do with it! After a little more back and forth she asked me to hold on and went to the back. She returned and told me that they would be canceling my appointment because they have issues with trust! Wait a minute! They have issues with trust! They are the ones going to be poking in my mouth! I have sent them 2 collection letters now due to the fact that cancelled appointments incur a fine (their policy not mine). They cancelled the appointment without 48 hours' notice, so they have the fine payable to me. You see you can't have a policy that is only 1 sided. That is the law, the policy is for all parties. I am about to send them to a collection agency on this point. I normally don't write this kind of review, but it is important for you to know what you are getting into before you go and have to deal with this terrible place and specifically this terrible woman!
