Its got so many rules its a correctional facility . I highly advise you to look into other sober livings just see how they opperate ... I know relapse doesnt have to he part of your journey.. but this place will punish you . They have black out phase ... A higerarchy chain of command ..a court system and one person to do 61 dishes ³ times a day. We come for help not disciplinary actions left and right.. when i was their stds were spreading. So. Kind staff and I was very impressed with the level of compassion of the medical director. Clean comfortable home with nice furnishings. There is a sober living house next door that has regular 12 step meetings. I went here for detox. read more

I spoke with a woman on the telephone at Clean & Sober Living today. She said that her name is Jeannie. She refused to give information and refused a meeting. When I asked to speak with someone else, she refused, stating that she was the one in charge. I will not be calling this place again. I am going to look elsewhere. I have lived here for over 7 months now and CSTL has helped me get to where I am today! The staff here is amazing!! I called 6 different places and not one answered the phone. When I called CSTL Jeanie answered and walked me through everything and was able to get me in the following day!! Madhouse was good for me. Lived there for a few months in 2014. The only reason I didn't give it more stars was for one reason that should be changed but when brought up to manager was kind of pushed aside. The rent isn't expensive but it isn't cheap either and I expected what I paid for to be provided. The dude who cooked breakfast always cooked it an hour or so before we could eat and was cold.A friend of mine is there now and he says it is still the same. Cold eggs is not good. CSTL on Madison is saving lives. Point blank. Myself and many others were struggling hard to get clean and only found success when we came into this program. I've been through some serious detox and sober living and this place is like a fantasy compared to all the rest. Awesome community, clean houses and rooms, amazing staff, ridiculous food spreads 3 times a day, all inclusive and very laid back. Hit your meetings, get a sponsor, stay clean and you're in. My name is Anna F. I can recall back on January 3, 2016 realizing I was once again dying the slow death of my disease and picked up the phone to Clean and Sober Transitional Living (CSTL) and spoke with the kindest compassionate person named Jeanie G. She convinced me I had self-worth and to come in and discuss my turmoil of addictive behaviors-the root of my heartbreaks and traumas-these are but symptoms not actual problems as she explained to me. My journey to recovery began this day within the walls of CSTL and I have not had to look back for a minute. I have found humility and grace emerges once I stopped chasing what I believed the world wanted me to be. Living in the family environment of CSTL taught me that I was always good enough just the way I was. I no longer needed to fill the loneliness and emptiness I've felt with alcohol or worse, I now had an entirely new "family" at CSTL that share my common bond and teach me a new way of living in a community of people just like me. I came to get sober instead I came to BELIEVE IN A POWER GREATER THAN MYSELF by following the simple program Don Troutman created and outlined in this transitional living environment. I am spiritually reborn and have been on a quest to continue this miraculous transformation within myself. I am no longer self-seeking, selfish, dishonorable, etc. Who I am today is a direct result of the teachings within the CSTL homes, AA and without putting in substances to change me. I became totally aware of the love, compassion, and sharing of my experiences, the strength and hope to not only new arrivals but how we support each other on a daily basis; who knows better that people of "like" how to walk us thru turmoil that is just usually our perceptions anyway. Don Troutman has created something so special within CSTL that it can never really be explained. I suppose that's the way--Bill and Bob--felt when they began this AA journey themselves! I want to encourage anyone who is suffering any addiction issues to give Clean and Sober Transitional Living a try. You can choose a better way of life today just pick up the phone and call. Living at Clean and Sober Living has been one of the best years of my life. I moved to CSTL for what was supposed to be one month and ended up staying for 10 months and continue to live here. Its an amazing community to be a part of and is a huge part of my sobriety. read more
