I can't tell you how pleased we are with the owner (Fernando Amezcua) and his crew who painted our entire home. They are respectful, cover your floors, covered all the furniture, helped move furniture (because my husband just had surgery and was unable to help me), and the nicest people. They showed up on time every day, did what they said they were goin g to do and cleaned up everything. Fernando painted the black wall around the fireplace which was not easy given the 2 story walls and the around the rock on the fireplace which was not even and he cut perfect lines. Short Version: I hired Fernando and his team for very quick turnaround house exterior paint job, he did an absolute amazing job!!! I am always concerned, as I mentioned to him afterwards of contractors that leave you high and dry, he did the exact opposite. First off, he should up on time at 7am to assess the needs of our exterior paint. I had a lot of questions for him: I need you to start this week, will that work? He said yes. How many workers will you have? He said, I will have 3, but if we need more help I can have up to 7 of my crew show up to crank out the majority of your house in 1 day. Then, we will circle back after the rain to do touchup paint. What kind of paint do you use and does it have special properties to protect our extremely hot temperatures? He said, I only use Kelly Moore paint with Acry Shield and it has 2 properties you will like: Acry Shield will protect against weathering and extreme heat conditions, but in addition, it will provide a very slight semi-gloss coat, so that it helps reflect the suns rays and protects your paint job for a lot more years. We had all kinds of question about color and how it would look and he was very respectful of our wishes, since he knows ultimately, it is what the customer wants, but he made sure to advises where needed in order for us to make the best decision. Home Owner TIP: Make sure you get your act together on what colors you want, go to whatever store your contractor will be buying paint from, get samples and find a hidden place on your house, like on the side in the back to paint all the colors you want to test. Let them set for about 2-3 days. A good painter like Fernando knows this and will space their arrival knowing that you may need some time to decide and have your typical spousal arguments before you settle on your final colors. In our case, KellyMoore provides the exact code colors on the 1 quart cans, so all I did was provide the sample quart cans with the colors we had settled on. He said that this made it very easy for him! Longer Version: We were in desperate need to paint our house for a refinance, but I knew the house had not been painted for a long time, so wanted a painter that would make sure and apply plenty of high quality paint to the exterior. I used yelp to announce I was looking for a painter, I really like this feature. Within a couple of hours I started getting pings from various painters. I began my back and forth; although, due to the fact that I needed the painting completed within a week, I knew it would be a stretch to find one. In any case, Fernando replied within the 2 hours and said that he would be available the same week, so we exchanged contact information. Fernando said he would have a crew do the taping ahead of him, he would spray, and then they would return the following week to do touchup and any odd end stuff we may request. As time approached, we discovered it would rain on last Sunday (relative to todays date), but it wouldn't start until 10pm, so he said he would have a crew of 7 to make sure and finish the majority of the job, then return the following Tuesday to do touchup work. His crew did exactly that! Our neighbors were like, "Wow, you cut it close with the rain!" I was like, I wasn't worried, our painter said it only takes 2 hours for the paint to dry. Fernando's team finished their work by around 5pm on Sunday, it rained that night, and there were no issues the next day at all! Fernando returned on Tuesday, finished up trim, my hvac condenser, my brick on the house, a back patio, which I mentioned I wanted done as well, and lastly, a brick pizza oven we have.
