I can't believe I had never heard of this pet salon before! I have a 50 lb Aussiedoodle who can be super reactive and hates blow dryers. I've been trying to find a reliable dog groomer in Boston who doesn't charge an arm and a leg, and I've found them! Super professional and efficient. I was running in between appointments and needed them to watch my dog for an extra hour and the staff were super accommodating and understanding. A bath and cut for my dog was about $120 which is an amazing and totally fair price. My dog has been having a lot of mats but the groomer did a great job at untangling and de-matting. My Scottie came back smelling fresh and looked super happy. I was told he was a good dog and had fun playing with the other pups there (which is unheard of due to his r reactive personality). Very disappointed. Despite requesting a trim and having a conversation with the groomer about specific areas to be trimmed, it seems there was a major misunderstanding or error. Sadly, my dog's entire coat was cut off, and they cut into the undercoat. Also she was nicked on her hip joint. She has razor burn on her groin. It is disheartening that I spent $120 cash for the grooming service, along with a $25 tip, only to encounter these issues. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand, as I may have avoided this mistake. Her coat will undoubtedly take several months to regrow. read more

Not sure why this place gets such a bad rep but we had a great experience with them. I agree that their sanitary cut is a bit excessive and that each dog has their own specific fur/grooming method but luckily it worked out for us ok. I do feel that they should have left our dogs belly alone because you're not ever supposed to shave Samoyeds so that including his butt region was a bit shocking but it wasn't a big deal for us knowing it will grow back quickly. They are definitely a bit rough with words but I don't think they're trying to be rude, perhaps just personality/cultural differences. I was pretty excited they had openings last minute and despite a few things I was unhappy with overall they exceeded my expectations so I was quite pleased. My dog came back smelling and looking great! They were quick to let us know when he was ready to go home and I will definitely be back again. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I brought my sweet puppy to this AWFUL place today and it's with tears that I make this review. First of all, terrible communication, I texted how I want my dog to look, I sent some instructions and they never answered (of course they didn't follow any of my directions or anything I asked) ... My cousin dropped my puppy off today, and he came back bleeding, shaking, and drooling (he drool when he is nervous). They said that the bleeding was because my dog was shaking his ears and there was no cut .... WHAT ??????? How can this be for shaking his ears! Every dog shakes, that doesn't make them bleed, they definitely cut him! He is traumatized and doesn't let us touch him anymore! Besides that, they plucked his hair out off his ears which I NEVER agreed with... Petco, PetSmart, and every other place that we went to, never did that... they refund us, but this is not about the money, is about a living being that is in pain now because of some cruelty that happened. anyway, the worse place for sure, if you love your puppy, stay away from this place! I love this place. My dog usually hates the groomers, but he ran straight in to say hello today. I was sold the first time I brought him by for a nail trim - he was whimpering he hates it so much, but then whoever was trimming him started to sing to him and turned his experience around, he happily trotted right out with his spiffy nails. Highly recommend! So I couldn't get an appointment at the groomer I normally use, forcing me to look around - I'm so happy I did! I was able to get an appointment here for the day after I called. The outside of the shop is unassuming and the inside front has a counter and a hang out area for the pups. I dropped my girl off and let them know she hates bath time and the drier. I am always so nervous leaving her with someone new but they seemed very friendly. About an hour later I got a text saying my girl was done. They said she didn't have any issues with the water or the drier! I also had them grind her nails, and they're great. The groomer I used to use would sometimes leave a sharp edge when they did the grinding, no edge here. When I arrived to pick up my girl she was laying in the sun in the pup hang out area and had the cutest bandana and stickers! One of the best parts was being able to pay via Venmo! Hello!! I found the pricing to be very comparable to other groomers in the area and I most definitely will return. Clean Paws is for sure the groomer I will be using going forward! read more

I took my yellow lab there for the first time. I asked for her to have a bath, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning, but said her nails did not need to be trimmed. They asked if we wanted her to have a cut/shave, and I said no and made the point that she is a lab and should not ever be shaved. When I picked her up after the appointment, her nails had been trimmed so short that I could see in her nails that they hit the quick on every nail because they trimmed nails that didn't need to be trimmed. Additionally they gave her a "hygiene shave" to "prevent matting." She is a Labrador so her fur does not mat and shaving her can impact her ability to regulate her body temperature, etc. She has what I'm guessing is razor burn on her belly from them shaving her belly and is clearly uncomfortable because she keeps trying to lick the bothered area. Grooming is not a "one size fits all." They very evidently do not know what they are doing and do not know how to tailor a groom to different dog breeds. Moreover, I cannot imagine how much pain my dog was in during the nail trimming for me to be able to see the quick at the tips of all her nails. Lastly, we found dried, crusted blood stuck to her hind leg and found a very small cut on her hind leg. Not sure if they tried to shave her legs or what happened, but still unacceptable. I don't think they know what they are doing and I don't trust the level of care and attention they are giving animals. I would not recommend taking your dog there ever. read more

My 8-year-old terrier is very nervous about grooming, and I was anxious about leaving him with new people. But the team at Clean Paws was so kind to both of us and did a great job with my dog! There was a dog barking when I dropped mine off, so I didn't even give them a lot of direction for my dog's cut, but they did exactly what I like! Super responsive and flexible with availability. It was my puppy's (10lb Morkie) first grooming so I was a little nervous how he'd do. He didn't seem traumatized and was happy/playful when I picked him up (he was playing with the groomer's son which was great). He's a little chopped looking in places so I've had to do a little trimming, but the length was exactly what I asked, he has ZERO nicks and I'm sure he did not stay perfectly still (lol). His ears were cleaned, he smelled good, had soft fur, and nails looked perfectly trimmed with no sharp snags. He also had a cute bandana on him when I picked him up which was a great touch. This place is a family run business and the owner took over for her mother. She did a thorough job on Chloe's grooming and took extra time with clipping around her bottom and nails. She even put a cute bindi between her eyes. She uses a high quality shampoo from isle of dogs. Chloe's hair came out fluffy and smelling wonderful. The owner even has an app so you can pay her through that. She is very accommodating with times for hair cuts and pick up times. Plus she truly seems to love her job and animals. Recently had a small dog groomed here. It was our second time but our last. Our dog came back with nails cut all the way back and deep into the quick. She also had a very deep cut at the base of her left ear where it meets her head. They tried to cover it up with styptic powder caked on. When I picked up our dog I asked if there were ANY issues and the person told me no. Just didn't even mention that there was a cut on our dog or that they covered it up. A small nick would have been fine but this was much bigger. Seriously, be aggressive and assertive when asking them about services and don't let the "niceness" fool you. Brought our 5 month year old yorkie here for his first grooming! Wash, cut, nails, everything. We've heard horror stories about other groomers not being gentle/cutting hair too short/not listening to what YOU want for your little baby. But wow! They did such an amazing job!! I have been having bad luck with groomers lately & was a bit hesitant to try out a new place. The process to book an appointment was so smooth & easy. I just sent a text to the number listed on the site & got a reply in a timely manner. I was able to get an appointment within a few days of calling so I was happy about that too! The salon was easy to find and there was plenty of parking spaces right outside the salon. The street it is located on is a bit busy, because it's a main straight and a stop light is just at the end, but I had zero issues getting a parking spot. There is a little drop/off waiting area inside the salon, which was clean, but that's about all you could see. We were a bit early for our appointment & they were able to accommodate us. It took about two hours or so for them to call me to come get her & I am so happy with the results!! First off, I don't know what kind of shampoo they use, but she smells amazing!! Her fur is sooooo soft!! And the cut they did is just how we like it! She looks like a new pup! The customer service here is great too! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Let's begin with how rude the owner is. Everytime I've brought my pet in she's super snarky and acts as if she's doing me a favor to groom my pet. I let that go because it was nearby and they did a decent job the last time I brought my pet in. However I'm writing this review to warn anyone that wants their pet shaved or cut. They cut a large skin tear on my cat. The owner told me it was "superficial". That he'll be "fine". Not to mention he reaked of urine when I picked him up! They couldn't even wipe him down. I was charged $100 for them cutting a hole in my cat and another 200$ for an urgent care visit! Let me add my cat has been getting groomed 6 years! Never has anyone cut him. He is very used to getting shaved when it's hot due to his long fur. Please protect your furbabies and keep them away from this unprofessional and overpriced establishment. read more

Poor pup came back with his nails cut too short, they got his quick. In the past I've requested they don't cut his nails but the one time I forgot they cut them too short and they were bleeding. The haircut was okay but for the price I would have liked a little better quality (his legs were still shaggy and he had a few bald spots). Additionally he came back home and had fleas. Due to my own absent mindedness, I had to pick my dog up over an hour before she was due to be ready. I brought my two dogs here for the first time today; Roxie and Bailey. Very happy with the timely service and both dogs came out looking great. Roxie being a long hair dachshund can be difficult to groom and cut properly, but I am very pleased with quality and detail. I was specific with areas that I wanted trimmed and cut and it was done as requested. Pricing was good and I do plan to return.
