My first impression is delicious food and excellent service! My boyfriend placed an order using Uber Eats that never arrived. When he checked the app it said it was canceled. He called the number listed on the app and the manager said he was not at the restaurant but would call to see what happened. He immediately called back to explain the issue. Uber canceled my order. After getting an email from Uber, we found it was due to lack of drivers. Since it was two hours later, I was able to pick up my food. This time he called the restaurant directly to place my order. The staff even called my boyfriend back to verify the order. (5 stars just for that). I've never had a restaurant do that. They just make it wrong and apologize later. I got the Malibu wrap and Breakfast Club. They were both delicious! The mix of Mayo and hummus with the vegan chicken had me eating in silence, because it was so good. We tried Clean Plates in August 2020. They offer a meal delivery service and we wanted to try it before buying a large order. I went into the store front in Ferndale and bought mandarin chicken and beef spaghetti. My wife and I enjoyed both dishes-they were tasty and the sides that came in the containers were good too. The gentleman working behind the counter was friendly, knowledgeable and he promptly helped me pay for my purchases. The facility was clean too. I also spoke with the owner via email after my initial experience and he provided some great customer service as well. The next week we placed an order for six large servings of food: Athlete 1 - grilled chicken breast, Athlete 3 - grilled chicken breast, Athlete 6 - grass-fed grilled beef tenderloin, chicken etouffee, Athlete 2 - grilled chicken breast, & chicken fajita. You could tell the food was made from real ingredients with no fillers or artificial junk. The meats were of great quality but they were dry. For $16 per container I was expecting the dishes to have better flavors. Everything basically tasted like leftovers. I appreciate the quality of the ingredients, the nice size of the portions and that each container had a well-balanced meal complete with vegetables on the side. All my meals have been fresh and there is a large variety to choose from. Their salads are absolutely on point!!! The salad dressing is amazing, my coworkers are always trying to steal my salads. As a busy working professional, it is really hard to find meals that are healthy and tasty. Clean Plates has met and exceeded my expectations, and is worth every penny. I had a computer glitch with my order, so I called their customer service. They answered the phone right away and they immediately worked to correct the issue. They even called me back later to make sure everything was still good. Finally, their meals are prepared with seasoning, so some meals may be a bit too spicy for some people. There are meals with less seasoning, just make sure you check the meal plan. There were some meals that I wasn't sure if I should order, like one of the African meals, but I was so pleased that I did. I would have never attempted to make it on my own, and this has added new favorites to my life. This meal prep is on the more expensive side of meal preparation plans, but you get what you pay for. I've been ordering smoothies since they've opened. And as of lately, the smoothies are watered down. Too much ice is being used. One particular lady that makes them always have extra smoothie in the blender that she throws out. I feel if she didn't use so much ice, I'd have all of the flavoring in my drinks instead of them being thrown out. Nearly a half hour wait for a smoothie and a sandwich, you would have thought they were picking the fruit fresh in the back. It's not worth the wait either, food is terrible. My husband and I have been ordering Clean Plates for 2 weeks now. All of the food has been filling, healthy, and delicious.
