    Guests enjoying their meals.

This was the best food truck, owner, and staff for my daughter's graduation party. The sandwiches were amazing, the guests raved about the food and the best part was not having to buy plates or silverware, cook, clean or store any left overs. Sandwiches made to order right off the grill. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HERO OR VILLAIN FOR ANY EVENT. You will not be disappointed at all. Thank you Hero or Villain for a memorable and still talked about meals for my guests.

    Food truck today downtown!

Yum! The food truck was downtown yesterday, and I'm so glad I stopped by. I had the Captain America with bacon which is basically a fancy grilled cheese with tomatoes and bacon. Perfectly toasty and melty and savory. Delish! All of the sandwiches sound good - I actually wanted their special, but they ran out of brie. Next time! I also really want to try their loaded fries.

    Kingpin with GF bread

We stopped by the food truck while it was downtown in Campus Martius and really enjoyed it! I got the Kingpin sandwich and was happy to see that gluten-free bread was an option. The theming was cute, and we probably waited 10 minutes in (a long) line, and then 10 minutes for our food. Overall, a nice stop for lunch while at work!

    Thor Sandwich & Woki Fries

I found this place on accident while searching for a "lunch spot near me" today. I am so glad I did!! I got the Thor sandwich and the Woki fries. Both were probably the best I've ever had. I'm not really a fry person so I'm not sure what possessed me to even get them. However, I'm so glad I did. They are almost Arby's fries (flavor wise) meets waffle fries-making them my new favorite. Pretty neatly decorated inside too. Staff was friendly and even refunded me the $2 off Thursday Thor sandwich when I had no idea. I will for sure be back to try other sandwiches (or maybe I'll stick with the Thor again-who knows!)

I'm not much of a sandwich girl, but they brought their food truck to Nordstrom so I tried it. They said the Thor was the most popular so I tried that with provolone instead of cheddar. It was excellent! The staff was also super friendly! Here is a pic after I ate 1/2.

While planning our accounting firm's Summer Leadership Program, I wanted to find a lunch option that would satisfy a variety of dietary needs -- from picky eaters to those with food allergies or vegan/vegetarian preferences. Hero or Villain exceeded all expectations. The food was outstanding, and the attention to detail was impressive. Guests with dietary restrictions were especially appreciative of the thoughtful accommodations, including non-dairy cheese, gluten-free bread, and more. Rich and Jillian made the entire process seamless, and their customer service was top-tier from start to finish. They flawlessly delivered over 60 sandwiches, and both students and staff left raving about their meals. Thank you, Hero or Villain, for helping make our event a success!

Can you say HERO or Villains for the win! WOW, what an amazing day even with the rain, this food truck brought a smile to everyone's day. I always say that my teachers are heroes without capes so the theme of this truck was so fitting. Every year, I try to do something extra special for my staff. This year, I booked the Hero Or Villain Food Truck. I was able to select 6 different sandwiches for my staff to choose from and options such as loaded fries & soft drinks. These sandwiches were the BOMB! Freshly made and grilled with such unique options: Blackfire (Steak, bacon, egg, mozz, grilled peppers, onion & drizzled with a spicy sriracha mayo), Thor (Turkey, bacon & Cheddar, mayo), Kingpen (Grilled Chicken, mozzarella & pesto aioli), Captain Planet (Marinated Mushrooms, Grilled Onions, Mozz, Red Pepper & pesto aioli), Deathstroke (Steak, grilled peppers, provolone, onion & mayo), Hawkeye (Turkey, swiss, sauerkraut, pickles, 1000 island dressing). These sandwiches were served on grilled sourdough, marble rye or a hoagie bun. My favorite was Thor but the Hawkeye was equally as delicious. I didn't have a chance to try all of them but everyone was raving about their sandwiches. The two ladies working the food truck were amazing. Serving up 50+ sandwiches in 1 1/2 hours was seamless. I've been told that this food truck travels all over the place. If you are lucky enough to try them, trust me, you will be in sandwich heaven! If you are booking an event, I highly recommend Hero or Villain Food Truck. Until next time, #catwoman

I'm not gonna lie, I was lured in by the sign that said "Food Network's Top 25 food trucks." The ratings online were good to so I gave it a try. I ordered the kingpin. It really was super yummy! The bread was perfectly toasted. It was so savory and tasty. I split it with my mom, so later when I was a bit hungry again after walking around Eastern market, I had to go back a second time and get the pesto, turkey, avocado one (forgot the name). It was just as tasty and yummy. Also the workers are nice and the food truck itself is so cute. So many stickers and super hero figurines and knick knacks.

I'm a comic book nerd so I was drawn to this truck for obvious reasons. Cute nostalgic setup here with superhero figurines our front. I indulged on the Kingpin which is a chicken sandwich and I added bacon. It was quite tasty. The combo comes with waffle fries. Overall it was filling, presented nicely and not too much of a wait time. What lost a star for me was when I'm seeing fries come out with this amazing looking aoli on them. I wasn't presented that upgrade to my fries or I sure as heck would have paid the cost to make that happen!! I'd patronize again as the staff was super friendly and food size was worth the cost.

Waffle fries were super delicious. Hot, seasoned well, and great space to eat in.

Yo! Hero or villain? New landmark "HQ" location located inside the same building as Ferndale's treat dreams. Honestly the whole vibe is dope and they have a great selection of sandwiches. I came for meillie(another new location) but honestly there's some great synergy of them being next to each other as you can easily get a snack (or side of fries) right next door. Service was great, friendly greetings and warm smiles all around.

I have seen this food truck several times, but I had never had the chance to actually order any of the food. I finally had the opportunity to try it. I must admit, I was a bit of a skeptic. My child got the Captain America without tomato, which is a grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough bread, and I got the loaded waffle fries, whose name I have forgotten. It was waffle fries with feta cheese, pickled vegetables, and sriracha mayo. It was absolutely delicious. I must say I was surprised. Those were some memorable fries! I would order them over and over again, so delicious. I brought the leftovers home, and my other child loved them so much, she asked me when I had time to go to one of our favorite restaurants during work hours. They tasted so fresh, she thought they were from a popular place we often frequent. Plus, that child would have never eaten that combination in the past with the pickled vegetables and spicy sauce mixed into food, but that way they prepared this dish was so appealing, she finished it. I did not get a chance to try to grilled cheese sandwich, but my kid reported that it was very good, and reminded her of school lunch. This is not at all an insult, she loves school lunch and misses it very much! The truck brought some much needed nostalgia to a kid who misses school. It seems that the truck makes food to order which is why there was quite a line and a bit of a wait once the food was ordered, but that is not a bad thing unless you had a limited lunch hour. We were on a time crunch, but luckily I had more time to wait and retrieve the food so my child could get back to her responsibilities. I saw some flyers about this truck coming around my neighborhood as well for dinner. The wait would be less worrisome for a dinner time compared to the lunch time rush.

    Bowcaster Fries

Heading up towards Troy from Dearborn I knew I had to take a slight detour. Hot giardiniera, tons of feta, and sriracha mayo come together in the form of the Bowcaster Fries. This Wookiee sized side cannot be missed. It's the perfect combo of spice and salty goodness and far different from any other fry toppings I've ever had. It's different but different is darn good.

I found this truck at the mo pop music fest in Detroit, there were so many food trucks to choose from I won't lie I walked around for a bit just kind of looking at different options. I'll admit the outside of the truck with the comic characters drew me in. Happy that I chose this one! The service was super quick! With that amount of people I was impressed that they kept it moving so quick and didn't make it feel like you were a bother. Say what you will about sandwich's but I think they are the best thing, and especially with an all day event such as a music fest. I had the delicious king pin sandwich! I loved the chicken, mozzarella, tomatoes and pesto aloli on sourdough it was so enjoyable and the perfect combination of everything on a sandwich, just what I needed to have a full day of fun at the mo pop festival, I'd certainly have them again given the chance.

This was my first time visiting Jackson Five Star Catering, as I had never heard of it before. So I was curious about trying a new place. My girlfriend has had some of yours food before, and she thought it tasted very good. So I became excited. Upon walking up to the window, the young woman on the register visibly had an irritated look on her face. My girlfriend ordered a sausage, and as I was about to say what I wanted, the cashier just walked off before I had a chance to begin speaking. After she came back to the window with a wrapped sausage, she looks at my girlfriend and asks, "Anything else?" I spoke up asking, "For the chicken tender meal, how large of an order of fries come with that?" She responded, "It's a $4 fry order". Once again, I had never eaten here before, so I had no idea what size that would be. So I said, "But I don't know how big that is", after which she holds up an empty tray and says, "All the food fits in this tray! The chicken sits on top of the fries!" She then shoves the tray through the ordering window and almost directly in my face saying, "You do the math! I don't know what to tell you!" It was at this point that I just told her, "Never mind. I don't want anything". Then my girlfriend handed back the sausage, and we both walked away extremely agitated, and extremely hungry. If I could give a score lower than 1 star, I definitely would. This is the only interaction I've had with this establishment, and I don't believe that I will be returning.

Well, because our congregation had a small list of approved caterers, and my daughter wanted one thing for the big celebration: a chocolate fountain. As luck would have it, The Moveable Feast has a chocolate fountain front and center on its website, so they were the obvious choice. The only other thing the Bat Mitzvah Girl wanted was bagels and cream cheese, which is her favorite food and pretty much impossible to mess up. Especially when the caterer agrees to source the bagels from Zingerman's Bakehouse. But one needs more for a luncheon than just bagels, cream cheese, and a chocolate fountain. That is where Misty Rose entered the picture. She got what we were going for and helped to round out the rest of the menu. I was told we had to get the whitefish as it was a signature dish of the company, and that was a great call. The pastrami spiced smoked salmon was tasty too. Having grilled vegetables was a fantastic idea as well. If I were to have TMF cater another event I might skip the red pepper hummus, the beet and quinoa salad, and the frittata. I make all of these things at home on the regular, and not to brag, but mine are better. However, those each served a role in the buffet, which on the whole was well received. Where The Moveable Feast shined brightest was its staff. They were extraordinary! Misty for both her flexibility and her patience in dealing with a father who was planning an event at the earliest stages of Omicron. Misty also directed me to A1 Rentals and helped to come up with several floor plans to make a 20' x 40' tent feel like a celebratory space. Plus the event staff were simply heroic, setting up the tent while I was at the ceremony and having everything ready by the time our guests arrived. Everyone who braved traveling to Michigan in December amidst a growing pandemic had a great time. The bartender roaming around pushing mimosas certainly helped. As did the tent heaters, which TMF helped to get back online when one wasn't working. They called up the rental company and made sure A1 brought over a new one. Plus the TMF crew even helped to spread out some straw when the lawn got sloppy thanks to the unexpected ice storm. If you've read down this far, you might be asking yourself, "So why only four stars?" Well, if you recall, the critical components of this event were a chocolate fountain, bagels, and cream cheese. The chocolate fountain was everything the guest of honor had hoped for... and maybe more. But somehow, the caterer forgot to bring the cream cheese. And a bagel without cream cheese is like a hug without the squeeze. I know that's not actually how the line goes. Still... it's close. My personal belief is that a business is best defined by what happens when something goes wrong. In this case, their first offer was to simply not charge me for the food they didn't bring. That was not terribly satisfying. Ultimately, the resolution was a sum that was roughly equivalent to the mimosas which helped make our adult guests happy despite the omission. I appreciated the gesture, but would have preferred an outcome that did not feel as transactional. You know, like a tray of sweets, or an "I'm sorry" cake. I know I'm weird about this, but money feels kinda dirty. Although at some point it's best to just take the offer and move on. Which is exactly what I did. Would I work with The Moveable Feast again? Absolutely! Would I recommend them to anyone who asks? You bet. Would they work with me again? I certainly hope so. We had a tremendous amount of leftovers, which included a few pounds of smoked salmon and multiple pints of whitefish. We were even able to salvage some of the ambrosial nectar from the chocolate fountain. More importantly, thanks to TMF we were able to pull off a successful event in the face of some abysmal conditions. I mean... on top of everything a last minute ice storm? And despite being down a person, they did it all with a smile. Bravo!
