After giving it some thought, I do believe I clearly communicated what I wanted, and I ultimately feel that I may have been overcharged. To start with the positives, I called ahead to see if they had availability for a walk-in. They told me it would be about 30 minutes, but I was welcome to come early and sit in one of the massage chairs while I waited. I appreciated that and did exactly that. It was relaxing to sit in the chair while they finished with other clients. Once they were ready, my pedicure began. I originally selected a lower-tier service, but the technician explained the Detox Pedicure very well and suggested upgrading. I agreed, and overall the pedicure experience itself was pleasant. While the pedicure was being done, another technician started on my hands with the manicure, but when another walk-in client arrived, that technician left to start a pedicure for the new client. The technician finishing my pedicure then move to her station and continued with my manicure and applied the clear dip. It was a seamless transition and excellent team work. I will say that I did like the quality of her work on my manicure and the dip. However, I did notice something with my pedicure. I had asked for clear polish on my toenails, and while it was drying it looked like some white dust had settled on the polish. I was trying to figure out how to mention it, but when the technician later applied oil to my toenails, the white appearance seemed to disappear and the nails looked glossy, so I assumed it had just needed to be brushed off. When I took a shower later that day my nails looked like I originally saw with a white dusty and matte look to it with some spot shiny. When I went to the register, I was surprised that the total was $130 before tip. I had calculated the $55 Detox Pedicure plus the $45 dip manicure, which I thought would be around $100. I assumed I may have miscalculated and didn't question it at the time, so I paid and left a 20% tip ($26) for a total of $156. When I got to my car and reviewed the receipt, I noticed there was an additional $10 charge listed for a "Cuticle Trim", along with a $20 "Additional Charge". $30 extra on to the bill. At most salons I've been to, the price of a dip manicure already includes the basic manicure prep such as cuticle trimming and nail shaping before the dip is applied. I get my nails done fairly regularly, and this is the first time I've ever been charged a separate and unclear $10 cuticle trim and $20 additional charge fee on top of the dip manicure price. The menu did not clearly indicate this additional charge, and it was never communicated to me beforehand. While I did enjoy the service quality of the manicure and the overall pedicure experience, I was not happy with the final finish of my toenails and was especially disappointed by the lack of transparency in pricing. This experience left me feeling unsettled. Clear communication about pricing, especially additional fees, is important so clients can make informed decisions before services are performed. Unfortunately, I don't feel that happened here. For that I don't plan on returning.

I have been getting waxed for about a year and a half, and have just recently ventured into getting Brazilians. I have been looking for a permanent establishment to patronize ever since and discovered Clean Slate on Groupon. I got an amazing deal on a Brazilian wax, and was so excited to try out a new place! Walking into Clean Slate, I knew immediately I would love it! It is clean and cute inside, and the receptionists are so polite and helpful! My first experience was with Kristen, and she was absolutely fabulous! That being only my second Brazilian, it was almost painless and a great experience overall! Kristen even introduced me to a great product that helps reduce ingrown hairs! I had such a great experience that I went back today, this time with the owner Marilyn. Y'all, let me tell you, this woman is a wizard. She completed my Brazilian wax flawlessly in less than 30 minutes! And I got a discount because my birthday is this month! I absolutely LOVE clean slate and am so happy that I have found a place where they are professional, clean, and do amazing work for a very affordable price! Brandy Credeur - Karmassage.com is now working with this team. Brandy made it possible for me to function in my daily life. I have 2 herniated disc and a pinched nerve. I had to roll out of bed to the floor and drag myself to something sturdy in order to get up and walk. Sometimes due to the pinched nerve I would just fall down the right leg would give way. I started working with Brandy on a regular basis right after she graduated and I had been to other massage therapist with no luck, had spinal injections, nerves electrically destroyed to help the pain and more without much benefit. Brandy, with www.karmassage.com was my regular massage therapist from 2012 - 2014 while I lived in Austin (Moved to KC in 2015). I started seeing her because I was having chronic wrist pain due to working at a computer all day. She helped release my wrists, forearms, upper back, shoulders, and neck. For me she provided a very deep, intense massage, which is just what I needed. After leaving a session I felt like a different person. Besides the physical work, she also provided a wealth of information over the years to help approach this problem from every angle. I ended up drastically changing my diet to cut down on my inflammation which has also had a lasting positive impact on my pain. Currently I no longer see a massage therapist because I've developed the tools to manage my body and keep myself happy and healthy. She did such a good job I no longer needed her! ;-) read more

I walked into the salon, inwardly afraid. Sometimes I might enjoy the pain that derives from hair being ripped from my body. Sometimes I don't. Depends on the day. That day wasn't one of them. I was greeted so pleasantly the moment I walked in. The salon is intimate and decorated beautifully. Gabby, and all the associates I encountered, put me at ease with their warm and kind demeanors. Gabby's gentle and efficient technique made the job quick and as pain free as possible. I was no longer humiliated at the thought that I just asked someone to stare up my nose while waxing hair off my face. She assured me that this is perfectly normal. I believed her. I must start by saying how cute this waxing lounge is. I can't remember the young lady's name who checked me in, but she was very polite. The glass of wine was also a nice treat. As for my waxologist extraordinaire, Valerie was absolutely amazing. She was extremely thorough and quick. She was personable and she also provided great little nuggets of helpful information. This was by far the best wax experience I've had. The receptionist also let me sample one of the all natural lip scrubs. It was was super yummy and left my lips feeling oh so soft. I noticed the check in sign so I checked in on the IPad and sat down. After a few minutes, one of the employees asked me if I checked in. I responded that I had, and that I had an appointment for a lamination and tint. She said okay. They asked me to have a seat in the chair. I asked the employee if I could get eyebrows shaped by waxing instead of threading. She said it was fine. She then said "I'm going to wax first and then do the lamination". I thought that was weird because every other time I've had a lamination, the solution goes on first and the shaping is usually after. She proceeds to put the lamination solution on and brushing the brow hairs. I have no issues with the process at this point but it's the opposite of what she said she was going to do. To clarify, my eyebrows are lightened with bleach to be a brownish color, so I asked for brown tint not black. The employee didn't seem to understand my request.. She ends up showing me the color she's going to use and says it "medium brown". I said okay with confidence and felt better about the situation. my brows are soft black, dark and don't match my hair. The shape is very nice I will say I enjoy the shaping. The process was painless and took right under an hour. Had they used the right color tint I would be so much happier. Hope this review helps someone out.

I usually go to their Round Rock location but I just moved into the area and was happy to see another location convenient to me. They offer the best nail services in the Austin area. Although they are a little more expensive than most salons I've been to, my nails and toes last so long! It's worth every penny! The techs and all the staff are super friendly. Let's not forget about the delicious and pretty drinks they offer for free with your services! If you want to treat yourself go to Bliss! It's worth it every dime.
