I showed up early and Mona was running a little behind, but once I was in her chair she went to work and achieved the look I was going for quickly without cutting quality. I chopped 6 inches off and did long layers and a light face frame. Conveniently located in a shopping strip in north Austin, it's not the fanciest salon, but great service and products if you just want a good quality cut and style!

I have pretty sensitive skin and always turn beat red after getting waxed and Christine has this delightful little serum that is cooling, calming, and just plane wonderful that always does the trick. As far as the always enjoyable brazilian, well, maybe enjoyable is a stretch, but with Christine it's always over quickly and with the recommended daily exfoliation I rarely have ingrowns. I have never written a yelp review before but I feel like Christine deserves one. I got a living social deal because it was cheap and she has great reviews. And Christine didn't disappoint. It's been a few months since I got a Brazilian wax so I knew it would hurt but it wasn't as bad as a lot of the other places I went to. She's also super friendly and efficient. Not only is she extremely personable and kind, she is really great at what she does. She thoroughly explained everything and made me feel very comfortable. Christine is great, especially if you're like me with crazy thick hair. I have gotten waxes before, but had to take a gap because I was on a budget. I read the rave reviews for Foxy Mermaid, and decided to check it out. While getting a Brazilian wax after so long was definitely not a painless process, Christine went slow and took her time with taking out less hair at a time to minimize my pain. My experience with Christine at Just Peachy Waxing (JPW) was SUPERB! She is my go to esthetician. Although I shared my past results, I was told by Fairy that IPL can't remove dark spots or freckles, which contradicts both my experience and widely available information about the treatment. After the session, I didn't experience any of the typical post-treatment reactions, such as redness, and I saw no results in the weeks that followed. Overall, this felt like a combination of outdated equipment and limited experience with delivering effective IPL results. I wouldn't recommend this spa for IPL.
