After a few horror stories with other companies, I was extremely skeptical and thoroughly vetted my options. Cleaning Exec, though not many reviews on Yelp, seemed to have consistently very happy customers. And now I am one of them! Iris was my cleaner - she arrived early/on time and was happy to stay to clean for the full 1.5 hours for my studio cleaning. I have had really great experiences using this cleaning service! I do a deep clean about every 6 weeks and I have used them about 5 times. I am always happy with the results. I appreciate that it is just one or 2 people in your apartment, not a whole crew. They are always on time and being able to schedule online and through text is super helpful. Missed a ton of detail. Also, when I wrote informing the service I was unhappy (I would always prefer to speak with the business versus write a public review) I was told I could receive a partial refund or a reclean. Since there were significant portions of my home that were insufficiently cleaned with the level of detail i would expect, I requested a reclean. When I followed up about the details of a reclean, I did not receive a response. I have followed up 4 times. At this point I don't think this is a trustworthy business. read more

The short version: The cleaning is decent but I think it's overpriced. I used this business twice. The first time they sent two lovely people. I specifically asked for a deep clean so I had no qualms about paying extra. The only thing that really irked me was they were supposed to clean the kitchen cabinets and I guess my step stool broke so they couldn't reach the top shelf. Instead of telling my directly, they sent some kind of message to their office who texted me which I didn't see till after the fact. If they had just let me know I'm sure I could have have found a solution for them before they were on the way out. I booked them again recently for more of a regular clean - less expensive. I have a small apartment and didnt even include my bedroom on the work list so I thought things would move fairly quickly. The website is really well organized and let's you mention if there are any areas you would like them to focus on and I asked for some support cleaning out my fridge. On the day of I was surprised to see one person instead of two. (The work was going to take longer with only one cleaning person). When she was finishing up I realized she hadn't seen the note about the fridge and so she stayed a little longer to take care of that. The office reached out to say they were doing to add a deep clean fee. It was clear no one read my work list otherwise we could have discussed fee and time prior. All that to say I will be looking for someplace where maybe I cam get a little more bang for my buck. read more

This was the worst 'cleaning' job I've ever received. And I use the term 'cleaning' lightly. I paid for a move in/move out deep clean and received the sloppiest service ever. Floors were not properly mopped, window sills weren't cleaned, refrigerator still had rings, and the bathroom wasn't cleaned at all. The service was quoted for 4.5 hours and the cleaning person arrived late and was there for 2 hours and 18 minutes. I mentioned this to the company and they replied that the person was there for over three hours. I was happy to provide the check in and check out time stamps from my doorman to dispute this. After complaining and sending photographic evidence of the poor service, this company knocked $50 off. I would not use the company again nor would I recommend their services. I wish I could give them zero stars. read more

They are also super flexible as sometimes I have had to adjust the date/time for my cleanings. I've tried at least a few cleaning services in the city before turning to Cleaning Exec, and after coming home to find things lost, dirty, or broken, I had pretty much given up hope on finding reliable cleaning help. But... I couldn't keep up with my cleaning needs, ended up searching for help once again, and FINALLY found what I was looking for. I made an online appointment and shortly after received a text from the company confirming the appointment for that evening (same-day service). Marianna showed up early and was waiting for me downstairs because she didn't want to impose. I left for a few hours and when I came back, my place was absolutely spotless. Seriously. Much cleaner than I had expected. I was so happy and will now continue with biweekly cleaning. The cost is about market I think, and the services are well above market. I would caution anybody that values professionalism and common courtesy not to use this cleaning service. I used the service for the first time on 02/13 for a one bedroom apartment that needed a light clean. I had recently purchased a new velvet sofa on 1/26 which did not require any cleaning. I came home to mud and footprints all over my couch which I spent hours trying to clean and could not remove. I called the service and they could not get in touch with the maid and had me fill out a lengthy claims form. Their final solution was to refund the cost of the cleaning which I mentioned does not even begin to cover the cost of professional couch cleaning. When I explained this, they were completely unwilling to listen. Do not book this service. read more

I understand that emergencies happen, and maybe that was the truth. But frankly, I was already a little skeptical about this business, as some of their glowing reviews do seem fake (as another user has pointed out). So, where shall I begin? Last week I decided to throw a party. Yes, yes, not the best idea with the semester just starting, but a girl can't live?! Anyway, my apartment was a wreck. No big deal, I spend most of my time in class or a library. Well, my beautiful family decided they were going to visit last minute. On Friday night I get a call from my mom saying MY WHOLE FAMILY was coming in the next morning. Now, I must admit, my "whole family" consists of my mom, dad, and brother, but still. That's a lot of people. Well let the frantic search begin! I needed to find an awesome home cleaning service ASAP. My family was scheduled to get in at 3pm. I checked Yelp, Google - everything. I came across a couple of companies, but this one really stood out. Booking online, chat function - it had it all. I gave them a call instead of the chat because I like talking(but totally loved the chat option), "blah blah blah I need a cleaning service on short notice blah blah blah." Basically, input pleading and sorrow into the "blah". I knew it was short notice, but they were awesome. They accommodated the time I needed (8am since I knew it would take forever to clean). I booked a flat rate with a deep cleaning. I mean, I didn't want my parents to show up and stay in a pigsty. And they'd be pretty upset if they found out I wasn't studying as hard as I should have. Sussan showed up right at 8am. She was so sweet. I can't express it enough. When she heard my plight, she just smiled, told me to enjoy my morning, and got to work. I spent half of the cleaning out grabbing breakfast with friends, and came back for the other half. Night and day. She took her time and meticulously scrubbed my entire apartment. When they say deep cleaning, they seriously mean deep cleaning. Down to the stain on my stove I thought would never come up. They know some seriously awesome tricks to get gunk out. She scoured my apartment checking every corner and crevice after that. She left no stone unturned. When she finished she asked me to check over her work. I was in awe(and so happy I didn't have to explain the mess to my parents)! Well my family got here, and even complimented me on how I kept my apartment so clean! Cleaning Execs talents will be my little secret, but all you New Yorkers have to try them out. From now on, I'll be going ahead and giving them a call whenever I have surprise visits from family. Complete scam. I paid 500$ for a deep clean including baseboard, cabinet, fridge, and oven cleaning for my less than 1000sqft apartment. The cleaning was supposed to last 6hrs and the cleaning "team" was supposed to come with all the equipment. The lady that came to our home only had a swiffer. She then proceeded to do literally nothing.... besides use her swiffer without even vacuuming or sweeping (I did offer her all the necessary supplies that I have at home... including vacuum, cleaning products, etc.). Basically, she pushed dust around. I left my apartement to give her space and privacy. When I came back about 4 hours later, I was surprised that the apartment looked very similar to how I'd left it. But I said nothing assuming she had her way of doing things... after all, 2hrs were left. 4h45mn into the cleaning, she put her swiffer away and said bye. I pulled up my receipt and what was in the invoice (including details about cabinet, fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.) and told her I was confused as to why she hadn't done any of those things... and said that there was still an hour left to get it done. She stuck around for another hour - I stayed in my room so as not to feel like I was spying on her. She left exactly an hour later at which point I discovered that nothing had been done. I called Cleaning Exec to tell them my experience, sent them pictures and videos . They told me they could pay me back 25%. Long story short: with tax and tip I paid over 400$ for literally nothing and they will not refund me. Pictures attached. My room in my apartment flooded after Ida, and Alketa did a great job deep cleaning and sanitizing to help make sure mold didn't grow. She was so sweet and did a fantastic job. The customer service is also excellent. One thing to note is that they offer 2 hour minimum cleaning, which wasn't necessary for my one room, but she used remaining time to help clean other parts of the apartment. Fantastic service! I've used pretty much all of the cleaning services in NYC that are rated highly on Yelp, but was never all that happy with any of them. We tend to keep our place pretty tidy, and usually book cleaners for deep cleaning, but other places' "deep cleaning" seems to really be wipe the moulding and tub (which we already do, lol). But these guys...we were wowed. As soon as we got in, it looked beautiful. Everything was spotless, and you could tell how much care and dedication went into the cleaning. If I could give zero stars, I would. I requested a move-in cleaning service and returned to find that there was still dust and debris everywhere in the house and they hadn't even bothered to clean the edges of the apartment. The fridge wasn't wiped down and neither were the cabinets or window sills. I recently bought some personal cleaning supplies which I had in a corner with some other items and told her to please clean around my stuff. Turns out she took that as an invitation to use my cleaning supplies and left the used items around the house (at least if you're going to use it, put it back so it's not as obvious!) The real kicker is that she LEFT HER USED MASK hanging on my bedroom door. The same mask I saw her wearing when I let her in. For a company that claims to care about customers' safety, that is clearly not the case here. When I reached out about the state of my apartment, I was told that the cleaner said "there was too much dust" HA. Imagine you hiring a cleaning company to do just that - CLEAN and they tell you they can't because there's just too much, which btw, there wasn't. The apartment wasn't in dismal state - we just didn't want to clean since we were handling other move-in stuff. Unless you want to end up cleaning your apartment yourself anyways, don't bother with hiring them. read more

I had a tenant move out after 3yrs - 3yrs of never cleaning the place. It was pretty bad. I thought about cleaning it myself and decided I didn't have the skills for this big a job. Furthermore, I have to admit that house cleaning was never my favorite activity. So I called several house cleaning companies, mentioned that the place is a mess, serious work will need to be done on the wooden floors, too...and...guess what? I received some unbelievably high prices. Therefore, I've started to do some thorough research and found these guys on Yelp. Their customer service was very prompt and helpful. They had an answer for each of my questions. But, the most important aspect...their price was quite decent. Work was quick and prompt, very professional; I have not seen my apartment that clean since the first day the tenant moved in. Floor looked brand new, the man-funk that was in my apartment was now replaced with a fresh clean smell and could not wait to have tenants again.
